A phenomenal excerpt of the pianist Lang Lang in rehearsal from the DVD of the acclaimed film, MUSIC FROM THE INSIDE OUT, with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Buy the DVD at www.MUSICFROMTHEINSIDEOUT.com
Hate his interpretation. He just doesn’t understand the piece. It’s garish, flippant, and he doesn’t grasp the lyric line.
Wonderful, heartwarming story ⭐️💛⭐️ Thank you for that post 🙏
Such a great performer and an artist. A true artist🤍
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Incredible techniques.
What marvelous music is this at 3:00? :)
Marles Tor Schubert string quintet in C major, first movement
Yue Yang Thank you very much!
You're welcome :)
David kim wins a medal at the tchiacovsky competition now playing with string ensemble pretty good achievement in anyone's book
The genius rehearsal- Lang Lang is the Best!!
I think he just enjoy playing, and enjoy the music. He is not acting.
He is a fantastic pianist AND he is an actor. Why not? He enjoys making music and he shows this. So it seems that he is free like a jazz pianist. I like listening to him and I like watching him. Good for my ears, my soul AND my eyes!
A very moving account.
I don't think you need throw you're entire arm in the air to play one note. I think I would like Lang Lang if he stopped being showy and actually plays the music.
I actually didn't like this. I hope he played better at the actual performance.
I agree absolutely!!!
yes he is a great pianist but he is not an actor... just boring the way he show off for the camera
1 person doesn't know the difference between 'person' and 'people'.
look as a pianist and a music major when you say that because someone doesnt like a contemporary piece that doesnt automatically mean they like lady gaga. u just sound igonorant
And Arcadi Volodos eats her to lose weight.
Well considering the directors of the Julliard say differently and they have far more credibility than you it seems you reek of racist crap cowboy, to make such a pathetic comment of an 11 year old does not say much for your opinions.
doesn't matter how hard what piece she plays and when she plays it; she's pretty stale and unoriginal with her interpretations.
And the worst thing is that most of you here who comment for nothing are not even HALF as good and as talented as him. He is great, and he really feels and enjoys music. And if you cannot do it,just shut up!
If you would work so hard like him you can also play on a Steinway. :)
now 57
and of course he plays on a steinway...as always...i wish i could play it one time :(
I would buy a ticket if he plays for circus.
Love it
On the other side whilst I know you meant no disrespect for chinese many cannot interpret western Music like Bang Bang. Listen to Tiffany Poon however and tell me what you think. Claire De Lune when she was 11 is a good start
Your right of course but he still stuffs it up, this is crap, he can play the notes and thats it !!! DREADFUL rendition
WET squib, listen to martha Agerich
Listen the Martha Agerich play this and you will realise how bloody awefull he is. Yuja Wang even eats him for breakfast,
lang lang is the lady gaga in piano field.
Misinterpretation of western music as chinese firework display. Result: damp squib.
Music has nothing to do with showmanship. Agreed, if you care about showmanship, you probably don't want to watch a statue play Prokofiev. But if it's the music you care about, it doesn't matter whether it's a statue playing or Lang Lang, because you want to LISTEN to it and not WATCH it.
What a clown !!! This Bang Bang is a true ZERO.
Not for much longer
I agree that you don't have to be as extreme as Lang Lang, but part of music is showmanship. No one wants to watch a statue play Prokofiev.
Well thanks for the comment... Obviously you ain't worth the time explaining something. Immaturity.
was he trying to get some aerobic exercise here? LOL
I love the demonic/playful quality here. and it's not too fast! too bad the orchestra is not louder.
He acquired a GOOD reputation - with his one of a kind "body dancing" language that get our attention! Truly, the best musician in the world!
Can't you see that he's enjoying himself? Can't you feel the spirit in his playing? True musicianship doesn't just mean technique and notes. He can make whatever gestures and faces he likes so long as he brings that enjoyment into the music. If that's what it takes for beautiful music then so be it.
He used to be in the same "League" he's 76 now. Maybe you think it's easy to become "competetitive" but it's almost impossible to "pierce" in classical music. Lang Lang is good, I never said the opposite. What I'm saying is that he doesn't need to make ridiculous and unneeded movements during his play. That's all...
his technique isn't even that amazing... and all his weird movements cause him to mess up and stuff... he has played normally before... just seems like he hates being like everybody else...
amazing technique, but i really feel bad for the piano... XD
what a buffoon. He'd probably make fewer mistakes and more music if he cut out the acrobatics.
@zabuzato Pollini is actually not one of my favorites -- a few too many performances where he's nailed the brilliant bravura fireworks but not the legato or the more introspective stuff. Sometimes he just bangs on the keyboard. Brilliantly, but --
This man is so fun to watch! He is so full of joy! How can anyone hate that? You know it used to be that all the great players were respected and their differences were celebrated. Why must there only be one?
I changed my mind entirely about Lang Lang. I Hated in the past, but the guy can play. The single problem is music market who makes everything commercial. - But he is kind of a genius.
@brandonscherrer It's because you can hear a difference from the the movements he does. It's not disrespectful, and I'm sad if it hurts your feeling that I tell something you don't want to hear.
@tptplayer1954 Ahahahah, this "hell of a cake teacher" is known around the world, but from his age, he don't play in Europe anymore, Silly Ass. Lang Lang is known, but there's many other pianist who play better than him, even if it is a personal taste. I'm not dissing him, I'm saying that such movements are not required to play, and thus make non sense since the main purpose of a piece is to play a nice song.... Not like if it was throw away .
it's a wonderful film!
