    Hate his interpretation. He just doesn’t understand the piece. It’s garish, flippant, and he doesn’t grasp the lyric line.

    He is a fantastic pianist AND he is an actor. Why not? He enjoys making music and he shows this. So it seems that he is free like a jazz pianist. I like listening to him and I like watching him. Good for my ears, my soul AND my eyes!

    I don't think you need throw you're entire arm in the air to play one note. I think I would like Lang Lang if he stopped being showy and actually plays the music.

    Well considering the directors of the Julliard say differently and they have far more credibility than you it seems you reek of racist crap cowboy, to make such a pathetic comment of an 11 year old does not say much for your opinions.

    doesn't matter how hard what piece she plays and when she plays it; she's pretty stale and unoriginal with her interpretations.

    And the worst thing is that most of you here who comment for nothing are not even HALF as good and as talented as him. He is great,and he really feels and enjoys music. And if you cannot do it,just shut up!

    On the other side whilst I know you meant no disrespect for chinese many cannot interpret western Music like Bang Bang. Listen to Tiffany Poon however and tell me what you think. Claire De Lune when she was 11 is a good start

    Music has nothing to do with showmanship. Agreed, if you care about showmanship, you probably don't want to watch a statue play Prokofiev. But if it's the music you care about, it doesn't matter whether it's a statue playing or Lang Lang, because you want to LISTEN to it and not WATCH it.

    Can't you see that he's enjoying himself? Can't you feel the spirit in his playing? True musicianship doesn't just mean technique and notes. He can make whatever gestures and faces he likes so long as he brings that enjoyment into the music. If that's what it takes for beautiful music then so be it.

  • @zabuzato

    He used to be in the same "League" he's 76 now. Maybe you think it's easy to become "competetitive" but it's almost impossible to "pierce" in classical music. Lang Lang is good, I never said the opposite. What I'm saying is that he doesn't need to make ridiculous and unneeded movements during his play. That's all...

  • @kerrywaller1
    @kerrywaller1 12 років тому

    his technique isn't even that amazing... and all his weird movements cause him to mess up and stuff... he has played normally before... just seems like he hates being like everybody else...

    @zabuzato Pollini is actually not one of my favorites -- a few too many performances where he's nailed the brilliant bravura fireworks but not the legato or the more introspective stuff. Sometimes he just bangs on the keyboard. Brilliantly, but --

    This man is so fun to watch! He is so full of joy! How can anyone hate that? You know it used to be that all the great players were respected and their differences were celebrated. Why must there only be one?

    I changed my mind entirely about Lang Lang. I Hated in the past, but the guy can play. The single problem is music market who makes everything commercial. - But he is kind of a genius.

  • @zabuzato
    @zabuzato 12 років тому

    @brandonscherrer It's because you can hear a difference from the the movements he does. It's not disrespectful, and I'm sad if it hurts your feeling that I tell something you don't want to hear.

  • @zabuzato
    @zabuzato 12 років тому

    @tptplayer1954 Ahahahah, this "hell of a cake teacher" is known around the world, but from his age, he don't play in Europe anymore, Silly Ass. Lang Lang is known, but there's many other pianist who play better than him, even if it is a personal taste. I'm not dissing him, I'm saying that such movements are not required to play, and thus make non sense since the main purpose of a piece is to play a nice song.... Not like if it was throw away .
