you should use a resistor with a value within the range specified for the Rp resistor, typically between 5.1kΩ to 5.6kΩ..! Feel free to ask other questions

1.The devices won't know they need to switch roles. 2.OTG won't work properly, so you won't be able to do things like transferring files between devices. 3.There's a risk of damaging the devices if there's a power issue. So 5.1 kΩ resistor helps in this process. By connecting this resistor across specific pins (CC pins) in the Type-C connector, it communicates to the devices which one should act as the host. The device that detects the resistor assumes the role of the host, while the other device becomes the peripheral. Hope it helps feel free to ask other questions.
