True Detective - Season 1 Episode 5 - Bar scene, Rust meets Dewall
I'd go two miles
In my opinion, season 1 of True Detective is the best cinematic creation of all times. And I have seen many many movies and shows from all around the world.
The first was the best of the series.
The why of things
Always find it funny that a meth cook whose hiding abused children is so cynical towards Rust. I guess he spots the danger of the man
Great actor, he knows the second Ginger says he'll let Rust talk that it's a set up and starts looking around.
'The worst thing she could say is no' Her: 1:35
Something that not a lot of people may notice is that Dewall, Reggie, and Errol (at least when he’s in carcosa) all sound alike, very deep, flat voice. They all talk in the cult worshiping format too. And to an extent, kind of like Rhust. It’s just something else that really ties all this brilliance together.
Sorry, criminals just dont look like Matthew Mcconaughey. That being said: it is a good scene..
Dewall is in the newest season of Severance too
i figured out his entire schtick. Sounding tired and lazy.
I like how Ginger looks back when Dewall comes into the bar.
lmfao like any oaf white trash drug dealer would ever talk like this in a drug deal. amazing writing tho.
I love Coke and Crystal Pepsi
Dude played the Uno Reverse and no one blinked.
The casting, the setting, the dialogue. Superb.
The only time where he felt someone at his level and was after
I've only seen season 1 once and it was years ago and I think about it almost every day. That's how insanely good this season was. I never think about the other seasons except for Colin Ferel's performance which is exquisite as well. But season 1 was like a dark acid trip with intense self reflection of personal growth, uncovering the truth, and fighting demons both inside and outside.
I love it that rust sees the other dimension or universe in the end, he’s just as dark as these people
Great season. Don't know what happen with the rest of the seasons. Went down hill after first season.
The boys should get together and reprise their roles. By far the best of the bunch. Just excellent.
"I see you again and I'm gonna turn into a bright misty pink cloud."
Perfect song playing on the Juke Box. Amazing scene from one of the best series ever.
He wasn't wrong
Seeing his reflection in the lives of all the lonely men who reach for anything they can to keep from going home
Bold talk from a guy that blew himself up by his own trap.
Dewall makes them the moment they sit down.
pretty gay
"I see you again im putting you down" Dewall when he sees Rust again: 🏃♂️ 🏃♂️ 🏃♂️ 💣 🎆 💀
This was the only part of True Detective that felt contrived. The rest is pure master piece. HBO f d it up by trying to run 2 more seasons. This was Nic Pizzaloto's Catcher in the Rye. And well deserved.
Ive watched interviews w the writer of this. I don't think his intentions were to have so much deep philosophical meaning tangled throughout the scenes, it just happened to create itself.
A simple "no" would have sufficed.
That’s some ( Carl) Jungian shit right their.
Could you please share the names of the movies? Thank you!
The one with chess is called Mothers Day, action movie with great fight scenes, still available on Netflix. Another one in white shirt is from the series The Green Glove Gang, also available on Netflix. There are also few scenes from two indie movies, which are not available on any streaming (yet :) ) The priest at the end is from popular polish tv show M jak Miłość.
Can we have English transcription please?!🙂
Thank you for your interest :). Sure, I will translate it soon!
My favourite shot, the door opening one ❤
On The Edge - Tha Playah
But the spotlights, let you won't see the inner light
Rust is a pure nihilist.
Tommy Egan
Stupid....Why would Dewall even show up to that.....
Does anyone know where this bar is located?
świetny głos ❤
It's like McNulty getting his FBI analysis
Panie Pawle, miło słuchać.
I’m Filipino and I worked as an extra on this movie one day. Before Joaquin Phoenix filmed his scene he would close his eyes and say out loud “fuckin’ nips, fuckin nips, fuckin’ nips” .
Method acting 101 😅
this scene is terrifying to me. There's no way he could prove to them that he didn't do anything.
can these people just make an Arkham Horror series? Please????
0:40
Dont be fooled by all of Reggie's philosophical tweeker garbage. That man that Rust is with was given one job by Reggie and it was to stromfront that one ghetto crack house which coincidentally was raided by the DEA hours after he told him to do that assignment You really think Reggie wouldnt immediately tell that Rust is a fed. Sometimes even when you're mind broken by meth you just know you're wasting your time talking to someone who clearly either wants you dead or behind bars
It wasn’t raided by the DEA. It was raided by the cops that responded to gunfire
I...think you're confused on the show's plot, bud. A) that's not Reggie they are meeting. B) the hood heist wasn't sanctioned by Ginger's higher ups, which would be Miles, not Reggie. Dewall and Reggie are associates of the biker gang, not part of it
Już jest pięknie, a będzie tylko lepiej!
