Declan Mckenna - Untitled/The Group(WHTTB Bonus! - Vinyl Rip)
Hidden in the Blood Records release of What Happened to The Beach was a Flexi Disc Vinyl holding this song and Declan's cover of Slipping Through My Fingers by Abba - ripped the audio so others could enjoy!
Rough lyrics below (transcribed by ear), The Song seems to also be on the Japanese release of the album under the name The Group!
LYRICS
I head off to my Country House
Sit by the windowsill
Sure as my mind will arouse
I'll never fit in here
I don't wanna break the peace
You forced(?) open arms last week
I didn't want tuberlise(?) to come off as particular
It was just one fell swoop
They're letting me into the group
Now I've got a company car that you can't find anywhere else
It was just one fell swoop
They're letting me into the group
Now I've got a contact card that you can't find anywhere else
Fuck off to your lovely house
Sit by the windowsill
House'll never come down
You haven't fixed it still
Again
Dorothy Do you love me still?
Will you care for me
if I ever fell ill again?
It was just one fell swoop
They're letting me into the group
Now I've got a company car that you can't grab anywhere else
It was just one fell swoop
They're letting me into the group
Look at my contact card that you can't find it anywhere else

Declan Mckenna - Archie, Marry Me (Alvvays cover - Instagram Live 16/05/20)

Declan covered Archie, Marry Me by Allvvays from a fan vote. The fan vote was through the charity Covers for Others where fans can donate and pick a song out of the selection for the artist to sing. The other choices that didn't win were: Billie Eilish - Ilomilo Tame Impala - Why won’t they talk to me Clairo - Sofia
Had this both on cassette and vinyl since 1983. Listening to Malcolm Clarkes' soundtrack to the Sea Devils and Earthshock, late at night in bed, before the VHS releases, was a magical thing. No video for reference, the Sea Devils soundtrack especially, had my imagination running wild. In a way, paradoxically, todays' society, where literally everything is there at a click of a button, is missing out.
I still play this vinyl. The Sea Devils is my favourite
I accidentally stepped on my record over 40 years ago...glad you posted it. Thanks
Thanks for posting.
Thank you Tom
I just found the cassettes of this and volume 2 in my attic. I listened to these way too much and may be haunted by Nyssa's theme forever!
I need full cover by him

it might be “it takes 4” because that isn’t in the released album
It takes four is much shorter, maybe less than a minute. It’s just an interlude. This is titled “The Group” and is only available on the Japanese edition of the album
@@tacticalnerd2146you’re wrong, it’s also available on the flexidisc of blood records version 🥸
@@tacticalnerd2146 this is also on the blood records vinyl
@@FX7yti knew i should’ve gotten the blood records vers 😭
I love this song, i was thinking of buying the Japanese CD as it includes this track but, It doesnt include Slipping through my fingers so I might wait till i find this vinyl.

I always wanted this record as a kid but it was $50.00 with a PBS subscription which is about $150.00 in 2023. Wasn't happening. I was 9 or 10 years old. Now at 48, I just bought it on Ebay for $18.00. Dreams do come true.
I got this for my tenth birthday on cassette, Sunday 29th May 1983. To have the Doctor Who theme to listen to when I wanted was amazing and the music from The Sea Devils also blew my mind with how futuristic it sounded. However it does sound a bit different to how it sounded in the story and on the Doctor Who at the Radiophonic Workshop Volume 2 CD. This one is more spacious and in stereo.
Still have this record. I must have played it over a hundred times on my older record player in the 90's. The score for the Sea Devils was very memorable and ahead of it's time. A true classic
My favourite track! X
Wow ive still got the original vinyl from 1983 as a birthday present then ! The leisure hive gives me goosebumps still
Played this album to death in the 80s. Nice to return to it years later. So many recognizable sound bytes

I used to listen to this album so much when it was first released. I always thought the sea devils track was too experimental to listen to without the video it was supposed to accompany. Nysa's theme was always beautiful and the Leisure Hive track was exciting. Only as one becomes older, and discover a wider variety of music (Jarre, Oldfield, B52s, k-pop, classical, Flight of the Conchords etc etc), have I started to appreciate the quality of the Radiophonic Workshop composers and performers (Doctor Who and HHGttG)...and also Ken Freeman (The Tripods) - not sure if he was Radiophonic Workshop but the music has similar style/influences.
AWESOME... I used to have it on cassette - loved it to bits.
I like the untreated scream without the bubbling rising falling echoised effect into the theme tune and stereo TARDIS flight from left to right.
Best Music Ever 🎶
Weird how Roger Limb's Who music changes so radically after 1983. Pre Season 21 he's more like a Depeche Mode-performing- Dudley Simpson! Would love to see Volume 2 uploaded so people can compare the music from "Androzani". This volume comes across partly like a Sound FX album on certain tracks. 6:00 is the highlight here (along with Malcolm.Clarke's Earthshock towards the end) .
Yesss I need to get a copy of volume 2, hopefully won’t be too hard to find
@@maj0rT0m 👍
Before Androzani, Roger Limb doesn't really get much of a meaty dramatic story to sink his teeth into like Malcolm Clarke does and it shows in his music. Time-Flight in particular sounds like the fare he'd tootle out for the story segments in Words And Pictures because that's EXACTLY what it looks like.
@@ealadubh4800 Good point. Certainly with Graeme Harper he developed a more recognisable 'signature style'!
The music for Earthshock is soooo good.
The incidental music of Geoffrey Burgon for 'Terror Of The Zygons' and 'The Seeds Of Doom' has its own CD, and is among the best such scores the series ever produced.
Love this distinctive, atmospheric music, takes me back to when the series was still the best ever, and those five gentlemen on the cover are the only true Doctors as far as I'm concerned!
Agreed!!!
wish it was only him in this song
Why tho? Craig Owens was easily the best vocalist in this track and Nicole Dollenganger was a really nice addition. Love Patrick but I don't think he was the best thing in this remix.
Same

Nice (also first time being first on a video)
Wow, very cool
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS❤️
No problem!
