I have one question: Why does no one pick up on Deadpool blowing out the candles on his cake, probably wishing for the one thing he wants and gets at the end of the movie… Vanessa ‘I want to see Vanessa!’ Why did Blade and Elektra get a knock at the door and then they were in the Void too? Did they wish for an ending to? Why don’t we get Gambits and Laura (X23) reason for being in the Void? Is it because Gambit never was in a Fox Movie, so he was always left in the ‘Fox Void’ of unused or unfinished Characters? And then with it all, Wolverine got what he ‘Wished for Once he could be what Professor X thought he could be’ and saved [Deadpools] World, the same World that ‘Anchor’Logan and Professor X die in, so Deadpools world is Fox’s’ And after it all, Wade get his very wish that started it all at the end…Vanessa…

The color grading filter sounds like ot provides a dark tome which is what the musical did. The land of OZ in general and the emerald city is this grand and colorful palace structure while the city and the people in it change throughout the film as the tone gets darker.

Part 2 comes out November 25th 2025

The director was smart and ended the movie with Defying Gravity which also ends Act one of the Broadway show. The song was written to send you out of the theater satisfied and wanting more.

Great review!! I was able to see it and it is WONDERFUL!!! Everyone, go see this in theaters!!! 2 hours and 45 minutes felt like an hour. It was Amazing!!!

It's really another example of a film where everyone agrees that "the production is excellent etc", but the story doesn't lead the audience to an investment in any of the characters... I nearly walked out of the theatre about an hour in. It was 'ok'...

I hope the entity takes a hard L in Smile 3 (if it comes out).

I think it is mid for what it is I don't like musicals so I was going to skip this one but had to see what all the fuss was about. I think it bombed bc a lot of people were expecting a sympathetic antihero bonnie and clyde arc. But like the first film it is a gritty plausably realistic potrayl of a relatable everyman that let one bad day turn him into a villian. We all have bad days, and we might sometimes having similar thoughts or feelings as joker/arthur, but we don't act on them bc we are not as selfish and entitled as joker/arthur. I would not pay to see it, but if you like musicals or can skip the musical numbers it is a sad, lonely, and realistic potrayl of what you would expect from a guy that goes on a murdous crime spree. If you liked the first movie this is worth watching if nothing else is on imo. I actually liked how pheonix kind of let other performances shine and steal scenes, while also delivering a consistant performance of a villian coming to terms with the consequences of the events of the first film. The little person court testimony was a really interesting interaction imo, as well as the young inmate that idolized arthur/joker who became the martyr I think most were expecting arthur/joker to be in this film. I thought it was also interesting to think about harly did not really want anything from arthur except joker. She had no interest in him as a real person, only what joker represented in that universes pop culture. So I think the main reason this movie gets more criticism than it deserves, I'm not saying it is good just not as bad as many are saying, is bc people probably had totally different expectations of what the film would be more so than this movie is terrible rather than just underwhelming and mid. My theory is harly hired the psycho to kill arthur, but also it doesn't have to make sense, in prison it is not uncommon to get murdered as a feather in the cap of street cred for another inmate. But I agree even going into the film with the expectation that joker is the bad guy, not an antihero, the movie is just depressing and predictable bc you pretty much know what to expect. I suspect they may have wanted to set up another sequel for harly quin and flesh her character out some more and that contributes to some of this films weakness, but if so doubt that will happen now.

He doesn't get to the point fast enough! You can fast foward the first quarter of his video. Too much waffling in general.
