TOOTING MY HORN, BSA BANTAM B175 REPAIRS CONTINUE ( HALLOWEEN EDITION )
I started watching your videos after Chris at the bracket factory mentioned you (at least I think it was him). I have watched so many now that I feel like we are old mates (I might change my name to Jenkins 😅). Keep it coming it’s really interesting and entertaining 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad to have you aboard Gavin but I'd set your sites higher than a Jenkins as he's a bloody liability 😁 and we are all mates here, its a club for tinkerers
Haha brilliant thank you 👍🏻
Merci pour la vidéo (zx9r pour moi)
My pleasure 👍
Great video learn how to measure the treads on the bolts to my Tarplaner which I am restoring, thank god for you tube or all this knowledge would be lost, and like most people I would think you learn faster by seeing someone do it than from a book
Glad you found it useful and UA-cam is an invaluable tool for picking up old skills.
Hi mate I like the video but can you explain the Zorro picture ?I may be thick but I just don't. get it all the best from deepest Lancashire
Zorro strikes a Z and i was installing the DRO on the Z axis.......its the twisted way my mind works 😁
excellent drill sharpening skill! was that parting tool on power feed?
I can't take credit for that Terry as it was a new drill, the thin stainless spacers were indeed parted of with power feed.
Another great video you certainly know your stuff, Thanks. By the way the music playing when you where wire brushing was that The Brush Head Band from the 1960's featuring Tweed on drums? I also like strawberry creams ..sorry!
Actually it was " Wire brush and Dettol " with Tweed on the Theremin 😁
Blimey, those rear wheel bearings were a pain! All spick and span now... jolly good show Mr Tweed....
It was a bit of a fight!
Now Stanley thinks the twin radial Rudge 594 cc will see you off on the long straights and that the Scott may have to stop to take on water i said the rider Mr Tweed was planning to stop to take on a pint of best bitter Stanley wasn't amused no sense of humor your attention to detail 110% loved the video thanks.
He is a dry old stick that Stanley, he could do with a pint or two of Codgers light ale , glad you enjoyed it David.
@@TweedsGarage Love it 😄
Got a brilliant way ov removing old tyres,an angle grinder! Couple of cuts in the side wall n there off 👍
Just mind those rims
@ yes 👍 ram a bit of old wood or scrap metal flat bar , really helps ,I learned this technique while trying to remove some really old 60s tyres from some old mini split rims
The problems start if you want to use them again 😆
@@davidwilliamson9162 Tiger Seal 😁
Its in lovely condition will you race it in the TT and give Stanley a run for it lets have your starting number we will try to get some photos with the Kodak Box camera . love the bike thanks .
I need Mrs Tweed to finish using the pudding basin but rest assured once the treacle duff has been served up I'll be on the start line...
@@TweedsGarage Ill tell Woods its race on that will take that smirk off his face, Thanks.
If you use nitrogen instead of air, your shock will stay inflated longer. With good seals, nitrogen has a slightly larger molecule.
cheers for that, I shall store that nugget of information in the old noggin
Hello Mr Tweed, I've just subscribed to your channel and am really enjoying the content. If you haven't sourced an air filter for the Honda, Autodoc website has a list of car air filters with dimensions. Might be something suitable there.
That all went very well Allan! The bearing spacer is a bad design, it would be much better with a bore larger than the bearing, you could then drive out the bearing in the normal way, but I suppose Scott were not bothered by an event that would not happen for 50 years. Those short tyre levers have a habit of flying up hitting you between the eyes! Be careful, or use longer levers. Stay safe! Chris B.
They are a bit tricky Chris but they are excellent for getting under the bead so I just use them with a bit of caution. All the Best
Great job brother
Thanks 👍
You only played the music to hide the swearing getting that tyre off and on
more to hide the grunting and groaning :-)
Coffee creams are the devil's work, along with pineapple pizzas, we'll have none of that nonsense in the Penn household. Good work with the lathe, i really must move in next door to someone that owns one.
Your not wrong Dave, pineapple on pizza was designed for 4 year olds who couldn't wait for pudding.
@@daveypenn211 my late father loved coffee creams and the strawberry 🍓 ones 😇 I once asked him why there horrible!,ah he said you have to train your taste buds into liking them 🤣
Your wire brushing music put me back years having a burn up. Nowadays a burn up has a new twist, jan/Feb are my winter heading months so burn up is the cuttings fire. I must say hedging suits my simple brain, it doesn't blow a fuse or nips an inner tube, so long as the top is straight l am happy. Scott is looking good.
nothing wrong with enjoying simple pleasures Alex.
Looking forward to hear it cackle Mr Tweed. Did I notice that you didn’t line up the yellow circle on the tyre with the valve? Had a lot of trouble with one o they foreign Dunlops, even with it lined up. Needed about half a pound of lead to balance!
you did....as I didn't notice it..........but I will check the balance and move it around to see if it makes a difference just out of interest.
Excellent video Alan as always 👍 will you be going in to the engine ??? if so i will be eagerly waiting. 😊😊
it was being built up by the previous owner who was a retired engineer , I was told the bores and pistons were in good order but I will be inspecting the bores by removing the transfer ports and the cranks can be inspected through the crank case inspection doors so you won't be disappointed ..
Those wheels look like they've been rebuilt, the chrome and spokes look really good. I'd recommend not giving Jenkins those strawberry creams or he'll end up all spotty and you'll be taking him to the obesity clinic. Nice update and takes us closer to hearing it run.
I think you're right Colin, not the usual shower of rust when removing the tyre...and don't worry about Jenkins as there where only a few strawberry creams so back to half rations in February.
Great job Tweedy. The lathe is the heart of the workshop. Couldn't get by without it.
that's because its not allowed in the house !!!!!

I hate changing tires. what was the Mexican tune ?
Its called " Mariachiando " by Doug Maxwell/Jimmy Fontanez on the UA-cam audio library
Excellent stuff, as always.😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful machine work Mr Tweed
Thank you Robbie
Just love the boo boo’s at the end fantastic 🤙🏼😂
Mrs Tweed said I looked like I was having a stroke !!!!.......but I was actually thinking :-)
Ahh yes..... a fellow Christmas tin collector! I like to put nuts, bolts, and screws that have no relationship to each other in them and immediately forget what they came from. Cheers and all the best from the USA (soon to be Canagreenmerica land)
it won't be long before you all smell like maple syrup .............mind you might be an improvement ;-) Thanks from over the pond.
I like the sound of Ameripanmexgrenlada. After all the Louisiana purchased combined with Seward's folly, "Alaska" and the Spanish/Mexican governments failed attempts at maintaining order resulted in them inviting Americans into the area to establish order in exchange for citizenship then they tryed to double cross those people who did the job. Resulting in Spain/Mexico getting kicked out of the entire northern reagon of Spanish occupied north American continent. What were they thinking? They couldn't handle the natives, then they thought they could handay the people who did? seriously ?

The Yowl gets ever closer!
you can hear it in the wind......
I hope you has your warm waistcoat on today, working in that cold workshop.keep up the good work.
I wouldn't be without it down the workshop, its perishing down there
Really enjoyed your video very good, nice to see you made so much with your lathe.
Glad you enjoyed it, the lathe is indispensable in the workshop.
I never trust sealed for life bearings, pop the seals out carefully with a jewellers screwdriver, you will be horrified how little grease is in them! Grease nipple = long life, sealed for life = short life! Excellent work Mr Tweed! Phil
Me too! I pack more grease in and pop the seal back
Thank s Phil
Nice work Allan. Really enjoying your videos. Cheers, Peter.
Thanks Peter.
Great vid mate very enjoyable and well presented as always had to adjust to wide screen to get Tommy tash in beats Simon s by yards love to Mrs tweed bob
Sending hugs bob from Mrs. Tweed x
Thanks Bob, don't shout it too loud or Simon might charge you full price for your next hair cut ;-)
I love this channel!!! Has anyone else said that your accent and voice is very like that of the comedian Joe Wilkinson? 👍🏻
Funny you should say that Gavin, during my short TV career the producers did point the similarities with Joe Wilkinson out............unfortunately it hasn't shot me to stardom :-)
