No it doesn't go bad. There's a percentage threshold you calculate into the soap. They also give soaps a nice and creamy lather. There's also the option of using dry butter milk powder, avocado powder or yogurt powder. 😊

It's best to let the soap cure for at least 4-6 weeks before using. But the soap can be used before then. It just won't last you as long.

@@micahthomas9521 no it doesn't. About 6-8weeks. It's a very hard bar and very gentle on skin.

Yes you can! Unrefined Shea butter actually hardens soap. Also if you add sugar to your recipe it helps with lathering. About a teaspoon per pound of oil. Kaolin clay or other natural clays help with lathering and of course letting it cure properly. It makes a very gentle creamy lather.

Shea butter & kaolin clay. 7lbs Shea butter, 4 tbsp clay 15oz lye 2.5lbs water
