Scuba Breathing - improve air consumption (Right away!)
Переглядів 71 тис.7 років тому
"How to use less air while scuba diving?" This proven scuba breathing exercise will help you decrease air consumption and increase dive time. Practice it before your diving holiday to get the best out of it! In this video, you learn to observe your breathing rate, measure it and adjust it. I will bring you through the breathing exercise step by step. Don't forget to check out my UDEMY COURSE to...
Inhale 6 seconds Exhale 6 seconds
Lesson #2, now put regulator in yr. mouth and practise same breathing technique on land.
What you described in the beginning of the video cannot really happen if you are properly weighted. Obviously, you can be negatively buoyant, but to an extent that you "free fall" in the water? Only if you are over-weighted.
When I first started 2 years ago, I kept asking about my breathing tempo, and I got answers like "you'll get it eventually" from my friends and "Breathe like you're smoking a cigarette" from my instructor (what?) amongst others. This is so much more helpful, just straight numbers,
Thank you so much! ❤ I'll practice because I have a scuba diving session within two weeks 😊 Last year I panicked and I couldn't breathe at all.
Nice!
My first two dives in fresh water, after years away were exactly as you explained, combined with a LARGE BCD bladder, I ended up with liters of water in my BCD. I didn't lean back to vent from hose or point down to release air from bottom of BCD. This was incredibly helpful - Thank You..
You got water in your BCD? How? I thought you could add air or let air out, but the valves never allowed water in.
Good advice, with important info. Well presented, too. This video (or one like it) should be shown to every diver who has fewer than 50 logged dives on the way to each dive site.
Hi, may I get the coupon? 😊
Thank you ❤
Better points than most I have seen.
Thank you very much for the information and helpful training sheet and resources! 💖
i had this moment too, thanks for ur explaination and yes like others too, the instructor didn't explain why. kudosss and many thanks for the great tips!
Need discount coupon please and thank you
Excellent advise Waiting for more
This is gold!! Thanks!
This really helped on my recent scuba trip. Thank you. Was able to come back with 30-40bar more
His accent makes me think of Lumière from beauty and the best ❤
Thank you 🙏
press thermo magic button 😂
If one's exhalation is slower, wouldn't one tend to sink?
Thanks for your information. Where are you based?
VERY clear explanations. Thank you Patrick!
Thank you very much. The breathing technic helps me a lot.
This happened to me on my 2nd dive after getting certified. haha. Now I understand why
That rise always happens to me. I almost hit my head on the bottom of the boat. I feel like I always knew this but I never realized why. Now I know
many thanks Patrick. great advice.
Excellent, thank you!
staying vertical ,leaning backward a little ,extending the deflator hose and dump air ...what a great technique .tq
Just did my OW and found going vertical helpful to ascend. Haven't seen anyone else comment!
do you breathe in through nose exhale mouth?
you can't inhale with nose with a scuba mask ;)
how do you keep your buoyancy level when doing this technique? Wouldn't you go up and down?
You can’t. But how many times during a dive you need to maintain perfect buoyancy?
i get dizzy if i breathe in for 4 seconds and out for 6. seems like im consuming way too much air than necessary.
Me too. When I focus on my breathing like this I get very lightheaded. Not sure how other people do it
You should inhale slowly to avoid inhaling too much air.
When this happened to me on my first open water dive I felt so out of control. None of the instructors explained this to me. Thank you!
Ywa I had my first boat dive and we went over some rocks and I started to rise I tried to get the air out but I was stressing the anxiety I felt was insane I looked at my buddy with pure fear. Luckily we were only at 12m I came up and I was so scared my head was racing. For the rest of the dive I was holding on to rocks scared for my life it would happen again. Thanks to this video ik it's because we rose the air filled
Wow. You should have never been in open water unless you understood buoyancy.
Thank you so much Patrick, this was helpful 👍
What happened - you put 2 videos up and not more
Hey Phil, we haven't had enough sea to film more content. Planning to change that though ;-)
Thaank you very mach dear patric Really its very useful 🥰👍👍🙏
Great video: concise and informative.
Thank you very much for the video. I will try underwater ;)
Excellent 👌👌👌
What type of power inflator is that? I need that in my life. Thanks for the video.
Subtitles are very intimate
Patrick I am struggling with not letting any air out of my nose in my mask by accident... I am focusing on breathing through the mouth, but a little bit gets through my nose even if I try. Then my mask fills with water :/ how do I fix this problem
most important is to use "lung BCD", ascent and descent by breath technique, not the BCD......
So how to hover at the safety stop?
Wow ! Thank you for structuring it Patrick ! I always keep working on my breathing so this helped a lot .
I don't like boy Ancy. I am straight.
I find it very hard to level during safety stop.. you rock!
Thanks! 😉
Great mate ;)Now I know where was my problem .;)your are a champion :)thank you!!!!
thanks, helped me alot
*After 2 dives with this BCD〉〉〉 **nub.best/01m0** (and it may be because im new to diving) the only problem i really have with this is the side air bladders. When im at depth they tend to slide up the sides of the strap trapping air into it and not releasing it making it mess with my buoyancy. I'm having to pull them down to my waist and squeezing them to remove the air when trying to descend. I haven't had any other problems with it yet. im going to buy a Velcro strap to help keep them by my side.*
