So this man returning to town with nuggets from crater lake came from that island in the middle of the lake. The hill formation. This entire area is volcanic activity which does form gold in the bedrock

I live in Phoenix oregon and went to high school here. It has never been known as fort grant. There is a story of a paymaster from Phoenix, Arizona who mas moving his stash of gold from fort grant in Phoenix, Arizona to fort thomas in Arizona and was ambushed and killed for his $20,000 stash in the 1850s. Big money then. I can only imagine this Phoenix oregon story was based on that, unfortunately. There is one website online where you can find that Phoenix oregon described as fort grant. It follows this guys story word for word. He probably made this phony website too. Shame, cool story if it was true

Have you tried reading the lines of the poem backwards? Starting from the end? The last line always indicates the gem, that would make sense to me

What I don't understand is some of the small details that are sometimes heard in many treasure stories. For example, at 1:45 in this vid it states, "the man in the saloon slowly got up". Not that it has any bearing on the story, and I'm really not TRYING to be critical, but how does ANYONE KNOW that the man "SLOWLY" got up? ha ha ha. It's just a little amusing to me that somehow someone KNOWS the man moved "slowly".

I remember watching the Boston on expedition unknown in the painted image they did show number hidden in the photo turn out to latitude and longitude so In the lions mane they are number if you can make them out. I think that is part of the clue also. On both sides of the mane I see quite a numbers

I grew up in Cement and have climbed to the top of Buzzard's Roost many times. Someone actually did find some of the gold back int the 80s or 90s that was buried there. You can actually see the indention in the side of the hill where they dug it out with an excavator. There's a Jesse James museum in town that has news articles about all of it. My cousin's husband is a treasure hunter and has deciphered clues in the Keechi Hills (that Buzzard's Roost is a part of) as well as the Wichita Mountains. He says he knows where there should be a kettle full of gold buried at the center point of 3 of the tallest hills around Cement, but the land owner refuses to give permission to excavate. My family also used to own some land where Jesse and Frank James hid out with Native Americans a few miles south of town. We have a picture of one of my family members sitting on a porch with Frank James.

My initials are carved in a huge rock there. There is a cave in the side of this place all the way up at the top. I used to go to this place almost every weekend and just hang out when i was young. There are also carved 6 shooters and the initials JJ beside them at the top of this hill. This is where i grew up.
