Love my JD. But those damn red lights/text on gloss black. Ugh.
Awesome!! Very nice. I have so much to learn
Unless you're actually designing sounds for a movie production, how usefull is this and what makes it different from the hundreds of other sound design libraries on the market? There really is an oversaturation of these types of libraries, hell, libraries in general.
amazing
RANDY JUDAH TORREZ ❤️ <>< Pretty cool 2 word's come to mind when ever I see the ROLAND JD XA *NICK RHODES* he udalises 4 in concert and uses them in studio he is a big fan of this particular Synthesizer 💯 I am going to probably perches one to work together with my ROLAND FANTOM 7 🎹
Whooahh, you must have a banging pc for all that ni. Nice post too
Lo q no m gusta d ese sinte esque no puedes guardar tus sonidos, solo tocas lo q en el momento estas creando
You can save them. Hold down ‘write’ and it can save to whatever slot you want
Really interesting song structure
This is so early!
Your videos with this synth are incredible
Many thanks really appreciate hearing it
Does anyone know how to get the xy pad automation to record in Maschine DAW?
Lol, that's funny.
@@kiillabytez thankfully I figured it out
Bit of a synth masterpiece this! I’m about to get a synth, but torn between getting multiple lower end niche synths or one flagship super synth.
Many thanks. Yes that’s always a tricky one. I personally lean in favour of flagship, then you can augment it with soft synths if you need more diversity.
Epic
Many thanks 🙏
There’s a lot going on in here! An ear and eye full 🎹 🎶 🎥
This is so good, what are we hearing Synth wise? I see the XA is controlling MIDI
Yes it’s controlling basically all MIDI. I played it all on the XA rather than drag and drop. There’s cellos, violas, brass, synth bases, percussive rises and hits, and bizarre synth stabs all on Native Instruments Ultimate. Montage adds superknob textured rises, JD raw sound is close encounters of the 3rd kind riff, and the synth solo at the end.
Also I just added in time stamps with all the above info
This is very artistic 🖼️ and gritty I love it. Good compo too!
Many thanks 🙏
Great to see a jdxa in use
Thanks, it’s used very broadly here. It controls a heap of orchestral soft synths on NI (cellos, violas, horns), provides analogue SFX for the close encounters part, an analogue lead for the end etc. it’s a really versatile instrument.
@@audienceimaginary i love mine - its the only synth Ive bought twice!
@@dags1965 did you appear on gear slutz and discuss re-buying? I read that somewhere
@@dags1965 I’d do the same. This unit I’ve had since 2016
Wow great video IA! Also damn the JDXA is a sexy synth, and ya make sound great!
Many thanks. I didn’t even know I had enabled public viewers to see this. Sort of just wanted to concoct an overview of my older work before I launch into a return to synths
Beautiful, and helpful.
Two keyboards to the top! good chords! But a little song could be more impressive! Thanks. 😁
Awesome! I wish I could see the edits better. Nice work.
Hello . the piano on the Yamaha montage sounds better than the DGX 670 - 660 cvp?The quality of the piano and the sound. I use 2 Hs7 monitors and a Yamaha Hs8s subwoofer. Please answer me . thank you very much . Horia
Hi Horia, it's me signed in from a different account. I've never played either of those. All I could say is the montage is their flagship synthesizer and its sounds are excellent.
Thanks you very much !
extra tips for new people 1. Reset a patch: Shift + Prog select to initialise patch + enter + enter 2. Add in part effect: Part FX, then right arrow, then + or shift + to gup on tens
Hi I have Thrill and I am trying to record Thrill in Logic Pro x. When I record the changes I make with moving the XY pad in the centre of the screen, none of the changes are recorded on the track. Do you have any suggestions? Have you attempted to record Thrill in a DAW?
Try arming the track and record it.
Best JDXA videos on UA-cam, hands down. Do you still have the synth? Are you selling your custom patches? I love pads and atmospheres - the JDXAs speciality and you program it very well - this one and "Mystify", very lovely.
Hi Alan, many thanks for the comment. Sorry I only just saw this. I’ve been away from this realm for quite a while. Yes still have it. Don’t sell any patches, but could try to find them.
Nice. roland makes some very good gear, they do But you cant beat their vintage analog. I seem to have a liking to it, i do. ua-cam.com/video/U-cocucSIks/v-deo.html
This was exceptionally useful. Thank you very much.
Magical sound JDXA really shines. Entertaining and educational video. Are you selling this patch and any others? Thanks.
Very nice sounds, if you ever looking for a synth with this patches flavor on the cheap… for now. Go and fetch a Kawai K4 with 80’s flavor, or Quasimidi’s Raven for that 90’s 00’s nostalgia, all though the latter is almost the same price as the XA in 2022
Dope!
as a deathcore enthusiast this might actually be cool asf
The ambient sphere ambient scram and the calling remind me of mk11 krypt theme but ambient scream reminded me of bo4, creat of class theme but also in mk11
Mysteia
Did you use and external reverb (pedals)?
No I don't use any external (or any type) of reverb. It's just the raw sound of the XA. I am using an audio interface though, which then runs into a PC using Cubase Pro. I do notice that this creates a slightly unique sound due to the audio chain.
do you sell patches for this model?
I have sold a few yes, I've got all patches that I've designed stashed away somewhere, plus some great banks of all my favourite pads and atmospheres from all the Axial sound sets.
@@audienceimaginary I am a producer of urban music and I am interested in some for genres such as Trap, Drill, Hiphop and R&B, I am interested. let's do business.
@@RLoupe yep can do. email me what sorts of sounds you require audienceimaginary@gmail.com
Very nice synthesizer !
Sounds bit thin but im sure it can go in dark obscure beef up sub basses places if you want it to that many few synths ever will.
I would highly recommend this as one of the first three videos anyone who has just purchased a JD-XA watch. Brilliant!
C'est possible de trouver ces patchs ?
I just ❤️ mine! Started playing with it today. Great job!
Very cool! Adding your video to my playlist of JD XA stuff as I will be getting one tomorrow :). Cheers!
У меня есть Fantom, но так-же очень интересен jd-xa ❤️
Amazing video!! So helpful and sounds fantastic. Thank you!
These sounds are something else. In your other video, that Terminated sound was awsome. If only I had the money, but I'll settle with my JD-XI for now...SBN RESONATE
Giving my System 8 to my son and concentrating on the JDXA because I dig it bad!
Great tutorial!!
Wow this is just amazing. Is it possible to get this patch? Iam willing to pay you something.
Send me an email I’ll try to get it through to you audienceimaginary@gmail.com
this library is absolutely insane
I want it. Can’t afford it. Same as the one with the masks.
One of the top 10 synths in history at my book. And the most underated for sure. Proper giant killer features sound and sequencer
I’m prob biased because I still have one, but I’d agree with that. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets mentioned in a decade or so in the same way that the JD-800 does now. When I have time I hope to do many more videos with complex original patches that can echo on to help it’s legacy.
@@audienceimaginary i cant get away from it it has that haunting japanese sound. Ive stopped using my rev2 it comes to thin in my ears anymore..jdxa to the rescue..gonna pull the trigger on one next month. That thing is a minimal techno pads machine 😂
Sounds good, don’t think you will regret it. The only thing I ever say to people (having owned one for 4 years), is that it can sound properly shit if it isn’t tweaked properly. Also some of the presets aren’t to everyone’s liking. You probably already know all this. But in my opinion it can be the sort of instrument that at a glance is very disappointing, but then when you dig in it’s amazing.
@@audienceimaginary well i like instant clarification on my synths and i know jdxa is nowhere near that field haha it needs proper sound design but having 8 tracks there to manipulate and knowing you can do everything with just the jdxa is where the real fun is. The only other synth i like in matters of sound is the prologue but the lack of sequencer it isnt for me. So yeah jdxa all day long🖤
Yeah sounds like you will like it. I spent about 2 hours playing a Prologue and was very impressed with how clean it sounded. It was very smooth and the filters sounded excellent to me. It’s pure analogue though. Also, the action was very nice. Tough one between that and JD-XA, I’d say the XA is more versatile overall, but the prologue is better than just the XAs analogue section (it has far more polyphony etc). It is the combination of analogue and digital that makes the JD-XA so interesting and some of its patches so bizarre and cool.
Would you recommend the JD XA for synth bass
Yes definitely, it’s superb for bass. Especially when you think about the JD-XA’s architecture/ style of subtractive audio chain when making a monophonic patch. On this you could make a bass patch with 4 layers of real analogue (which alone sounds great due to the huge amount of user control), plus up to 16 layers of digital. With this you can have a very multifaceted interesting bass sound or a very clean rich and smooth sound.
