Discovering the US Space & Rocket Center
If everyone knew Cullmans history this video would be very different. Several years ago, Walker Co. had more meth and oxy addicts per capita than any other county in the US. It was a very dry county for decades, then legal alcohol soon brought crime.
Beautiful place
I knew grandfather really well. He worked with my grandfather for the city of Oxford. I was a resident of Oxford for over 50 years. I still own a house across the street from Oxford Lake Park.
Is this a sundown town?
It's 2024, not 1950. No, Cullman is not a sundown town.
❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤
Been there. It's lame
Ur lame
I love living in Oxford ❤ Thank you for sharing this!
Is the water clear there, like in Destin, FL?
Unfortunately, most of the water in Gulf isn’t clear. Dauphin Island is in a bay of the Gulf, so the water there especially isn’t clear.
@@SparksofDiscovery Thanks for responding.
I like your videos good job, thanks
I was there today! It's a tiny world all its on.
So...I guess I'm going to Waffles R Wild next time I'm in Foley.
You totally should! 👍
Sand mountain drive in is in Boaz which is also in a different county as well
The drive-in was located in Etowah County and was south of Boaz outside of the city limits. We wanted to include it because we thought it was a nice ending to the video, even though it wasn’t technically in Gadsden. Doesn’t matter now, as it closed not long after the video was released.
I lllllllooooovvvvvveeeee Lambert's! Such a great atmosphere, and the food is so good and so underrated! Looking forward to this episode, as always.
It’s such a gem! 💎
The first time we went to Dauphin Island, I was just a kid, but I do remember that we stayed in a house that was on "stilts." Last summer, my family and I stayed a week in Fort Morgan. We took some time and toured the fort, and then we took the ferry over to Dauphin Island and toured Fort Gaines as well. It was very interesting to hear about the battle of Mobile Bay and visualize that right there in that channel, the battle took place so many years ago. I was amazed at how the inside of the forts were very cathedral-like with all of the arches, and the textures of bricks covered with natural calcification and green moss were simply stunning works of art. I took many pictures. Great job on the video, and thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
So glad you enjoyed it, it is fascinating seeing all the history and thinking about what it was like during the war. Thanks for watching!
Great grandfather was william perry george
My grandmother and father were from here. Never been here❤
This same county was where that one season of 60 days in was recorded.
I have been there it is sure worth the trip. A lot to do there, petting zoo, train to ride and other things. I believe a put putt golf course if I remember right. I am from another state. Had to drive a while to get there. Thanks for the video.
It absolutely is worth the trip! It’s a neat place! Thanks for watching!
My youngest son got married in Cullman and loves his new family, his beautiful wife. They are beautiful people! 🙏🏡💞🎉🙏
🎉
Greetings from Georgia! Glad to see your content in my feed again.
Thank you!
It is very beautiful.
I love Daulphin Island! We ride our motorcycles down to the ferry, then put our bikes on and ride the ferry to Fort Morgan, then stop at Tacky Jacks. Spend the night in Gulf Shores then head to PCB the next day.
That sounds so fun!
Don't bother. It sucks. Ill will be watching though.
lol k
Beautiful! Looks like one of the nicer caverns. I was looking on the map and seems like its called "Majestic Caverns" now.?
Thanks for watching! Yes, they actually changed the name not long after we published our video. We’ll have to do an updated version at some point.
W zoo im in 4th grade i went there. It is my favorite feild trip
It’s a neat place, glad you got to go!
ok i am here - JamWayne brought me here - he is a new Star from Gadsden, Ala´ Country u know - Dear Mister JamWAyne , Sir
You get cought with drugs in this town and your in for a long ride in the justice system..im from here and dealt with them you should go ahead and enroll in a year long drug program...
Or you could just, you know, not do drugs. 🤷🏻♂️
The Alabama Gulf shores zoo is awesome. We are proud of our little zoo. Hurricane Ivan destroyed it. It took a lot of hard work, to get where they are today. It's a zoo with healthy animals. Great employees and a wonderful story.
Couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching!
On our way to summer scout camp, we stop and hike down into the canyon to our favorite, secret swimming hole and spend the day. It is always interesting to see how the new scouts and parents react to the hike down and back, plus the swimming hole. The hike down only takes about 20 min and the trail is well marked, but secret. Can't wait for summer.
Very nice video!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it!
This is not even Oxford.
Yes, it is.
YES IT IS!! 😂 I live here.
Would like to see more shopping and restaurant info in future episodes
Thanks for the feedback. We usually try to feature one or two restaurants and one or two shops in each episode.
I absolutely love your content, and have visited parts of Alabama because I learned more about it through you. Now, I can't wait to see where you explore in my home state of Georgia! Cheers to a very successful fourth season and beyond!
Thank you so much!
Where is this located at?
Just off I-65 in Calera, AL. South of Birmingham.
Thank you for making this! I am a student at the University here, and I absolutely love it. Montevallo is truly my home away from home, and I’m so happy y’all made this to show others how truly beautiful this place is. 💜💛
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the great review. We are looking forward to visiting the zoo and doing a bit of research.
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy your visit!
You sure focused a lot on City Harbor area. There's so much more than that. Try the other end... the local museum, the area over by Valmonte and Top of the River and the areas on 69 and 79! The area at City Park and Thomas Boat launch areas.
This video was put together using extra aerial footage we had from our main Guntersville video. We aren’t from the Guntersville area, so we were very limited in the time we had to film there. We had to choose what we thought the most important and interesting places were and focus on those. I’m sure there were plenty of cool things we missed, but this is just a hobby for us so we can’t do everything we’d like to. Thanks for watching.
@@SparksofDiscovery well you did a beautiful job. I understand!!!!
Thank you!
Finally!
Beautiful City!!!
I like your videos..thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Very amazing video ❤
I bring the scout troop up to LRC on our way to summer camp every summer. We hike down to our favorite, secret swimming hole. Swimming and jumping into the river all day long, the new scouts and their parents always fall in love with this place. During the winter we come up and camp for a week, doing day trips all around the area, hiking, climbing, visiting historic locations, and a hike up a side canyon and hike out at a 60' waterfall .We have explored various sections and rock formations. Everyone wants to go back next summer.
I saw that this park is 90% full time campers and some are not so nice people. Is it still that way?
Not sure which park you’re referring to, but we didn’t camp in Scottsboro so I’m not sure about occupancy rates at the campgrounds. Everyone we came across was super friendly though.
Thank you for sharing this video! We are thinking of moving to Scottsboro and this was very helpful info. Was this taken in the summertime? It looks like it was pretty warm. What month was this filmed? Thank you! ~Joey...I just got to the part where you visited the State Fair and said it was fall. Looks like you had great weather!
Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed it! It was filmed in September, so it was still pretty warm during the day but felt nice at night.
Thank you for responding. I found your website and sent you guys an email with another question. Look forward to your response. @@SparksofDiscovery
It's not Morgan County. It's marshall County
We said it was Marshall County in the video.
Guntersville is over rated . People in guntersville are snobby. Marshall County is in decline.
Y’all should’ve gone to buck island and gunters landing. That place has a really beautiful golf course full of azaleas and dogwoods.. That’s my favorite spot
Sounds like a nice place, hate we missed it!
Nice video, Auburn is a beautiful town, but the Iron Bowl is tomorrow so that's as far as I will go to say anything nice about Auburn this week 😆. ROLL TIDE.!
