A mate of mine use to fish with me in my boat use to clean up on garfish he never used berley. He would make a dough and put garlic and parmesan cheese in it. It works a treat.

Same here Ed just love fishing over here I fish mainly for yellowfin whiting and garfish of the .😊 sand.

I love whiting fishing off the beach, but from what I learned it's better to find a beach that is next to some inlet like a lake or a river, what do you think of this theory mate? Only asking because I want to try some beaches that are much closer to home. TIA

Growing up following dad down the beach, it was gang hooks and pilchards always. Now though, I'd like to try going after bream and whiting.

Grew up fishing this style at Moreton island Qld , I still have all my dad's hand turned wooden alveys , great video mate !

I love beach fishing too. So peaceful and relaxing punctuated by a fish capture if I’m lucky. As I only visit the beach occasionally as I’m in Central West NSW I take two beach rods and a smaller spin rod for tossing little lures or plastics. I tend to overthink it sometimes and feel I just should concentrate on a species instead of trying to cover all bases. Less hectic for sure and a helluva lot less gear to lug around. Thanks for the vids you produce I really enjoy watching them as I’ve fished those areas you do a lot as a younger fella. I used to frequent rocks and beaches from the Garie Beach to Crescent head. My favourite would have to be ???? They were all good for differing reasons.

Interesting clip. I have fished that spot (not posting where but it is getting more known. track up and over has just been re done btw). Funnily enough I too have never had much success with Cunje there but have done well on fresh white bread sliced into rectangles with a running sinker very close in for the drummer. Burley with the crusts, sand and left over bread. Seeing you know where we are talking about try fishing off the point on the north side of the gutter where you did your clip with the blackfish. It is a low swell spot at high tide and you fish at your feet. You will need 30lb line and the drag locked up. No finesse involved just a good old-fashioned arm wrestle. Even so you may get wrecked lol. Let me know how you go. Like any fishing, they are either there or not. Come prepared to fish for other species just in case.

Have made some lures cut from stainless steel round bar. Having one flat and one round side and a length of 100mm and weight of 30grms.As the lure has a flat /curved cross-section it causes it to rotate and flash in tidal flow when fishing for mackerel and bass.
