Catching A Feed fishing in Swansea channel.
That first spot, salts Bay, we call that area the sunken breakwall. There is a spot near there where you get bream, flathead, leather jackets, garfish, big eye squid(certain times of the year)
Thanks Ed!! I would like a video of beach fishing for whiting if you don't mind, I know it can be a hit and miss sometimes frustrating 😅, my favorite type of fishing and the least successful 🤦
@@marcog.5410 the problem over here is that with the warmer water on our beaches the Dart beat the Whiting to the bait. Much better chance of catching big Whiting in the estuary over here.
@letsgofishing3249 yeap very lucky with them, they follow me wherever I go 😂
Have watched all your videos and absolutely love them . Started fishiing at 8yo at the beach. Loved it then. Progressed to boats and niw at 70 im back to the beaches for whiting bream whiting etc.For me beach fishing has no equal. I love to watch the sunrise with my feet in the water and the bonus is catching lovely fresh fish.
@@garryyannakis thanks for watching and your a man after my own heart. 👍
Thanks for a very informative video Ed.
Cheers 👍
Nice video, Ed. Scenic and informative. 🤓🎣👍
Thanks mate. 👍
Great video Ed ! And awesome tip with the double ended knife !
Yes I love that knife makes the job so much easier.
Pigs will be on at some stage next week, Ed, after massive swell on Saturday hits then abates some time next week.
At certain times throughout the year the snapper also clean things up after a big sa well.
@@letsgofishing3249 True. It's always a nervous, exciting time casting baits into a prime area which has had a good stir up - never know what will chow down the bait, how big and how heavy to fish.
Your making me excited 😛
Cunji is good bait trouble is everything loves it catch alot of rubbish on it.
I tend to use it more in the winter months when the pickers are less active with the cooler water.
Possession limits may be an issue. I don't think common sense that they will die anyway is allowed for in fishing regulations. I have seen busloads on occasion and the smell is strong then.
Yes, that’s important to note. The bag limit, 20, still applies to cunji washed up.
Yes the 20 per person still applies. A day or two after a storm is when I get them. They start to go off after that.
Thanks Ed, nice video. Please don't reveal the location - we have enough issues with our special place being loved to death as it is.
@@TrailerYacht I won't 👍
@@letsgofishing3249 - GREATLY appreciated mate. I'll introduce myself next time I see you. Best wishes, Gavin
Good vid Ed, thanks for the tutorial. I'm in the process of building my own Luderick rod atm, a Snyder CR4136 I may as well make some floats to go with it Cheers Stevo
@@Stevos_HookedonRods4844 thanks mate and best luck with the rod👍
Thanks mate been wanting to try for gar ,
Thanks for the reminder. It's been ages since I had a gar and mullet session. Never tried it off the rocks, but Blackneds is full of them at the moment. Time to dust of the size 12's and cut up a few prawns, That morning of your video was a shocker. A mate of mine didn't have his chart on and almost hit Mawsons break wall. Reckons he couldn't see 15m.
@@mistergormsby I don't mind catching lake gar either. Yes the fog didn't lift till after lunch. I have also been stuck out there with fog when I used to fish outside and it's no fun.
Very helpful

@@abi1816 I'm sorry mate all I can say is that it's on the central coast. A lot of local do not want me to disclose where these spots are.
@@letsgofishing3249 - This is Summercloud bay, Ed's secret spot just east of Bherwerre Beach, south of Jervis bay. Park in Wreck Bay village & walk through to the beach. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT reveal our beautiful spots Ed ! I've fished here most of my life and it breaks my heart - they are getting "loved" to death by out-of-town folks who don't care and just "grape" our spots like vacuum cleaners, leaving line, smashed bottles, plastic & rubbish all over the place.
ed luv yr fishing for mullet tell me how do u know when the fish is biting pls tnks pompeii
@@abi1816 you can feel them biting. You can see the float move but by that time they're already hooked.

Thank you. Plan to make some to try shore fishing in the St.Clair river between Ontario Canada and Michigan USA. Fairly strong current so I'll use a heavy weight from shore.

@@GarryWestwood-uv6ob thanks mate. Great morning.
Another nice video, Ed. Well done on the Benito, it’s great when you target a species and your plan works! 🤓🎣🐟👍
Thanks for the comment. Yes I was and still am targeting bonnies this year and they're fun to catch.
Nice catch!
Great video again, what was the tide doing when the Benito were biting.?
@@gmurphy000 High tide.
what area are you fishing I don't recognize those rocks D

Looks like an awesome fishing session buddy , I love sashimi and I love eating luds, my favourite fish , but honestly no fish is safe with me because I love eating them all just about lol.
I am embarrass to say that I haven't tried sashimi. I definitely will have to try it one day.
Another nice video Ed. I do get nervous when old mate drops everything and keeps his back to the sea to pick up his fish especially when you did the slo mo of the water coming over the ledge.
I was watching out. Believe me if there was a wave coming he would know.👍
Great bit of filming, Ed, with some quality bonnies and luds in the mix! Wrapping up a term's worth of marking (4 classes) at the moment then planning on hitting some pigs when conditions stir things up a bit.
Thanks mate I tell you what I did enjoy getting stuck into those bonnies. I hope you get out there soon get some of those beautiful big drummer. Send me some pics.
@@letsgofishing3249 Thanks mate. Will do especially if manage to land one of 10 lb models.

It's alright.... you can watch the videos....😊
Magic time to be by the sea - between first light and sun up ! Awesome video as always ED!
Agreed, that's when it all happens.
I caught 2 ludrick not too long ago (one being 40cm the other about 30 or so) But when i pan fried them, the skin turned very rubbery and meat was pretty tough. Didn't end up eating it, but was wondering if maybe i was cooking it wrong or somehow. I looked around the internet and asked a couple of people but no one really knew as to why the fish turned out like this. I should also add that i didn't bleed them, so maybe that could be the problem? But am not sure as to why the meat was so tough and rubbery.
@@stevem4660 I always bleed my fish, it just makes them taste better but what you're describing I think is that the fish was not rested. What I mean by that is that the nerves are still firing in the muscles and if you cook it straight away it'll will curl up. What you need to do is fillet the fish then stick it in the fridge overnight then cook it the next day. I always rest my fish before cooking.
Yes, you need to bleed Luderick, same as trevally, salmon, tailor, Drummer. I always bleed my Luderick and they taste great.. hope this helps
@@letsgofishing3249 Thanks mate. Because i ruined two perfectly good Luderic. The skin really started to curl up and the meat was very tough. Ended up ruining a family meal .
@@richardyoung1289 Yeh that could be the case too, since i have noticed the fish end up really stiffening up. Thanks will try it next time.
@@stevem4660 yea, bleed them, take the fillets of, and I also skin them, and before you cook them, (or any fish) pat down with a paper towel to get as much water of them before you cook them, 🎣🐟😉
What rod are you using on the Blackfish Ed? Nice slow parabolic action
@@buddajoseph snyder glas mag bream 11.4ft
Is there a reason to why you bleed the fish under the sand?
@@stevem4660 the main reason is to keep them cool and the seagulls won't pick at them. The tail sticking out of the sand is also an indicator to where you buried it.
@@letsgofishing3249 Ohh ok Thanks. Just wanted to know, because i have seen a couple of people doing it on UA-cam. Just didn't know what it was for apart from bleeding them.
Love all your videos
@@apm285 glad you enjoy them 👍
This is typical fishing mate , you win some and you lose some and old murfys law applies some times, what will go wrong will definitely go wrong lol , I use 10# line and size 10 hooks hardly get break offs and the couple extra pound helps land the bigger fish , light line for me where there is not to much danger of rub offs otherwise 10# is my go to for ludric. 👍
@@fishmut thanks for the comment. I usually use size 6 or 8 of the rocks and on occasions size 4 when they are really on the chew. The size 10 where the choice for the day I think.
Thanks for sharing. What area are you at?
The ocean , geees your not bad ,peoples fishing spots are private , find your own.
@@fishmut I’m not interested in the spot I was asking the area eg: Newcastle, Port Stephen’s, Gosford, Central Coast etc.
