Valheim 1 Star Wolves vs Moder

I gave up looking for a 2 star wolf and went ahead and called Moder with 1 star wolfs. Maybe lost half of near 50. Sorry, recorded at night.
Valheim Moving Boar Over Water
Переглядів 287Рік тому
After a couple failed attempts without a harpoon, I then have success using a harpoon to move the boar between islands. Even then, the boar can jump out and then you have to drag it over the water whereby your stamina will drain. Then you have to stop and hope the boar will come in your direction so you can continue. 00:00 How not to move a boar over water. 04:29 Use a Harpoon

A tale of tragedy and revenge. How to build a chicken coop. Not noted in the video is that the hardware cloth now goes all the way under and up the back. That also keeps mice out as well as keeping other rodents from digging under.

Arduino code at github.com/JWStone/chickendoor Object oriented code inspired by paulmurraycbr.github.io/ArduinoTheOOWay.html with help from learn.adafruit.com/ www.arduino.cc/ Update: I have this off now as it seemed unreliable. One problem was I put a timed light in the coop and that light prevented the sensor shutting the door consistently. Lost a batch due to that then some parts broke while...

It’s harsh, but this is reality. Kill everything that gets near your food source/ animals. You took on the responsibility of doing so when you bought or raised them then penned them up. I used to think that there were ways to solve the problem with thousands of dollars spent only to lose more animals. Put the predators down period or the loss is on you. I say this to myself as well. Once again, it’s harsh but reality is reality whether you want it to be or not.

If you would have built a secure coop and run based on thorough research and the benefit of the mistakes of others, you are unlikely to experience any predator losses. Your continued failure to secure the coop shows me you like the UA-cam traffic more than your chickens.

Lost 7 chickens of 15 to a family of coons last night. Thank God I got up to smoke. I would've never heard the massacre happening and saved the last three out side. The marshmallow foot trap works better than have a heart traps. But after loosing so many I'm laying out with night vision and I'll pick off every single one that comes

And before anyone comments about putting them in I set up an automatic door close with timing and it was newer chicks that came in to roost for a week then stayed out 1 night instead of coming in. But I'm fixing the fence and getting a new foot trap and staying out again tonight to pick off what I can out of the six coons that came last night.

I always thought I was immune from attack. My fencer failed and I lost 2 runner ducks from one pen-and all my call ducks but the one that flew out from the other pen. 12 ducks the first night. Got the fencer up and running. Then they hit the chicken coop. First night they took a dozen birds. I secured the coop, but they got in again and killed another dozen. It was a charnel house. If they’d take one I could handle it but these were our year’s supply of meat birds and replacement layers. It was heartbreaking thinking of the terror those poor birds went through because I was complacent about my coon proofing. I’ve trapped and killed nine of the suckers so far. They poop all over the place, mess in any water you’ve got out, climb all over everything. I can tell they’re still after the chickens cause the birds are so skittish still and stuff resting against the coop gets knocked around. I truly hate the creatures. They carry an amazing array of diseases that can transmit to humans, cats, dogs, horses….. and they breed like rats. I’ll admit that they’re cute, especially the babies, but it’s their only redeeming quality.

I wonder if the so called "chicken wire" is produced by racoons or foxes themselves, since that shit is not adequate to build a proper safe run at all.

  • @rosesmith6208
    @rosesmith6208 Рік тому

it cost me a fortune to buy all that hardware cloth and I covered every nook cranny and small hole. for two years nothing has gotten in and we have racoons and foxes galore in fact lost a chicken to a fox while free ranging during the middle of the day, he came back the next day and I caught him in the act of grabbing one in the coop (door was open for free ranging) and he did not expect me and I chased him off he kept coming back sometimes twice in a day for several days but he did not expect me to be outside keeping and eye on them all day, he came back this early spring about a month ago I was watching my girls free ranging during the afternoon and he came running around the house spotted me and took off like a bandit across the street. I have not seen him since. once they succeed it takes alot of pushing and chasing them and they not being successful a second time to forget about coming around. but I wont let my guard down, that raccoon surly got in way to easy, was you thinking about squeezer predators when you put the coop together? they are the most dangerous because many people underestimate their abilities to get in some of the smallest holes if the hole is bigger than 2 inches they will be a racoon or possum small enought to fit.

Friend I can't thank you enough. We have had a big raccoon problem in my neighborhood & at my home for years now. however I am in my first year of owning chickens and to my surprise they quickly became pets and I became attached to them! But I am also lazy & I just kept putting off fixing the (VERY) week spots on my coop UNTIL I saw this video. Just seeing your whole family of chickens wiped out got me off my ASS! I just couldn't of lived with myself if I had woke up to a massacre like that because of my laziness.your style of dealing with such a formidable ENEMY was refreshing! My babies thank you.

I put up trail cams, and motion detectors aimed at the door and fence line. They give off different sounds so you know where they are. Shot 2 that way. After the trailcams showed 5 raccoons visiting regularly, got some dog proof traps. Best thing ever. You put cat food in a tubular device and the raccoons eat the cat food kibbles with their paws. When they get low on kibble, they pull the lever with their paws and it holds them till morning and you then dispatch them. I lost hundreds of dollars in young birds. They pull them through the wire and eat them alive. A 2 inch hole they can reach through and they eat whatever they pull through. I ended up getting 5 raccoon and 7 opossum between motion detectors, live traps, and the dpg proofs. Sorry all you rocky lovers the populations need to be controlled. Wait until you hear a prize bird getting eaten alive or go out and find 6-8 young corpses lying all over. Heart wrenching and maddening.

Real talk though. Those who bash killing them haven't seen the havoc they wrought. Leaving chick heads in pools of blood. Chickens you've spent years feeding holding petting watching them raise their own young chicks. Just to lose them to something that looks up from their bloody corpses grunting and snarling at you with blood soaked faces for interrupting their "meal."

I to have chickens, however after watching this, I am disgusted.....I to do not want my chickens or other farm animals to be killed or eaten by WILD animals. I have taken the necessary precautions to protect them. Raccoons and opossums are necessary for our environment, the ignorance coming from the comments are just cruel. I guess your the guy who does 45 in a 25 and hits someone's dog or cat with no regrets. Obviously this is more for the cold comments below....when we make a decision to buy farm animals and you decide to put a coup as far away from your house, (which is normal) you should expect something to try and get at your chickens. Raccoons and opossums have no earthly clue these animals are pets. Most chickens roost really high in trees and not close to the ground. Do not say raccoons and opossums are dirty creatures with diseases, they are cleaner than the average human. Yes, they can carry the rabies virus, but so can a dog or cat. Chickens are far more dirty than you think. They eat "EVERYTHING" including shit. Do your homework, stop humanizing animals. They are not human and are not having a conversation like "Hey, look, Bob bought some chickens let's go kill them", they are animals trying to survive. They don't understand taxes, property lines and pets. I am sure I will get some crap for writing this.....but I can't stand ignorance nor do I find it ok to kill things just because.

I agree with you totally Soupedupcatjazz! Before I bought my chickens I read up on how to keep them safe and we have not lost a single chicken to predators. Knowledge is everything. I respect and enjoy wildlife and prefer living far away from towns. My henhouse is not made with flimsy wire and cheap latches. It was built with the idea it could withstand a pack of pitbulls! Hardware cloth on every side for daytime penning and wooden coop for nighttime safety. The birds know when to exit the pen at dusk and head up the ramp into the coop since they have done so since baby chicks. Carabiners on latches are not susceptible to those tricky little raccoon hands. Long live wildlife AND chickens in our care.

I had to shoot 2 a night for a week DNm near. I had a 4 inch gap between the wall and floor on the coop side and they were coming in and dragging hens through that gap. Couldn't believe they could fit through it. A randomn fox or Hawks are the only issues now. I have an AWESOME rooster though. He's taken a lick'en once but fights the hawks off. He had NO FEAR.
