Sorry I've been given assignment but in trial balance asset (furniture, motor vehicle..) liability (loan) have been recorded in both side debit and credit! But in trial balance is BALANCED?
So I'm filing my micro-entity accounts and as an owner I invested small sums throughout the period. From what I have learnt this falls under capital reserves. For the year the total is around £140, just paying for google workspace for the company. Yet at the end of the accounting period I am filing for, the company net assets (the money on the business bank account equalled £7. How can Net Assets possibly equal Capital and Reserves in this case as I've invested £140 for the monthly subscription yet the company only has £7 at the end of the period?
nice one

I am a graduate and post graduate diploma holder from india currently in UK. currently doing AAT L4 planning for ATT diploma for corporate tax for UAE. How would that help me? what shall I do?
🎉
Economical development? They sent to Ukraine billions of pounds in aid, that was just wasted! That was our taxes! Taxes are high enough but no, they put their greedy hands in our pockets even deeper 🤬 Can't wait when this all will be over!
can you confirm the double entry for "pension salary sacrifice" for employee and employer?.................i assume the Employer aspect is CR balance sheet for the liability to go to the pension provider and DR the P&L to represent the cost............but what about the Employee aspect?....CR the balance sheet as it has to be paid to the pension provider.....but the DR?
Hi Mark, so here the debit would be Employers pension on the income statement and a credit to pension liability on the balance sheet for employers pension. Once paid its credit bank, debit the pension liability on the balance sheet. The gross wage goes to the income statement as a debit as a cost to the employer and the employees pension needs to be a credit also to pension liability, the net wage would be a credit also to the balance sheet under wages control account. I hope this helps :)
For an adult (30yo) looking for a career change, two degrees in other subjects, no experience in finance and not particularly a numbers person but have a great attention to detail/curiosity and looking to learn and for a new challenge with high earning potential.. would the AAT route be good for me?
Hello there yes absolutely, the best part of the AAT is that you can also self study and therefore you could fit this around what works best for you.
Great video. Thank you Rebecca!
Thank you glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for keeping this very accurate and neat ! Appreciate it
You're welcome
Id like to suggest for future videos to turn off the music while explaining or turn it down pleaseee
Thanks hun will do

Do you have anything on FLP? Thanks

Hi There i am facing error for submitting corporation tax after completing every step but it is showed error and showed your submit rejection i don't know why did you help me with that!
Thanks for explaining so nicely and to the point❤
You're welcome hun
Hi Rebecca, i just came across your video and thought it was very informational! 1. I have no experience or qualifactions ( I do have a bachelor in a unrelated field) so what's the quickest way to becoming an acocuntant/bookeeper? And how long approx.? What certifications/courses should I look into? I want to get out of my current postion as soon as I can. 2. What attributes are needed to become a successful bookeeper/accountant? 3. What's the difference between bookeeper/accountant? I would assume the accountant knows more than the bookeeper. 4. Should I also take a master excel course as well? Btw from the u.s.
Hello there its great to hear from you all the way from the US. I would say it would be a good idea to look into the CPA to see if you might have exemptions towards the qualification. The qualifications available in the US differ ever so slightly however there is also another qualification called the ACA and the ACCA which you could look into, both are widely recognised globally. I will add a link to my video on the differences between a bookkeeper and accountant and will actually pull a video together to address your question here as I have a few similar question popping up. I have a few excel videos on here which might assist also which I will add below as well as an excel course which is CPD recognised which I will link for you but take a look at my excel videos first before shelling out on a course at they might be sufficient :)
thank you!!
You should reach out to taxdome for an affiliate link for doing these great videos Rebecca
That's kind Timee
Amazing
Thanks hun
Hey, great video. Just curious about one thing, do they require certain years of practical experience when applying for the practice license like other professional bodies, or just holding the membership is enough ?
Hi hun no they do not need a certain length of practice experience, what they have is an exemption route and an examination route here is the link: www.bookkeepers.org.uk/Contact-Us/FAQs/Becoming-a-member
The software reminds me of Synology chat Rebecca. If you have your own Synology Network Attached Storage (NAS) device, you can store all the files locally and communicate with staff / clients including file uploads for free- because you host the files and software yourself. Its very similar to what you show in this video. Im still learning and find your videos helpful. Working my way through AAT level 2
Thanks Timee that's great insight I didn't know about Synology Network and all the best with your AAT level 2, any questions along the way just hit me up
I am 36 now want to start bookkeeping courses, let me know how to start from zero? Anyone can help?
I would highly recommend the ICB or AAT as a good starting point perhaps level 2
Thanks. I am in my 40 want change my career
Brilliant! In my experience you can change your career at any age particular with a career in finance so it's never too late and you can lean into the skills you have already gained from other professions. Any questions along the way just let me know and I will do my best to assist

Hi, thanks for the informative video, do u think it would be ok to start at level 3 AAT, with no prior qualifications in accounting just experience as an accounts assistant?
Yes you can absolutely start at that level with accounts assistance experience. There is a lot at level 3 which is repeated from level 2 to consolidate your knowledge x
Waoooo ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ah. I missed it this year. I’ll go next year. I’m planning to change my career in finance as accountant assistant and I’ve already started my course

Hi, thank you so much for explaining the direct method of cash flows, it suddenly makes sense and you explain things so clearly 🥳. I can't find your indirect method video, please can you help me locate it? 🙂

Thank you for explaining how to do the ledger accounts for the disposal's entries. It makes a lot more sense after watching your video.
You are most welcome hun
Hey, enjoyed the video🙌! I'm not really sure if it is the best time to ask but, I was wondering if I could help you create a better distribution by working on post-production like better storytelling through Edits, Keywords, think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips! Would love to chat if you're interested and keep creating good content:)
Alright. Thanks Rebecca!! Thanks Miriam!! Really learnt a lot and l guess you will be having this kind discussion often. Bless up and am out. Bye
You are most welcome Michael it was lovely to see you there this morning.

Hey hey, im thinking about starting with level 2 AAT and then progress to level 3/4 do you think i should go uni or can i just apply for a licensed accountant after level 4 or do a chaltered course after?
Hi yes you can go to university and then undertake a chartered membership with CIMA, ACCA or ACA for example. However my personal preference has always been to learn on the job and those three years of experience learning the AAT will boost your confidence and give you the foundational knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping. It is all down to personal preference really.
Which is better cima or acca+msc in applied accounting? If someone wants to first work in firms then in industry? Plzz plzzz plzz reply
Hello there if you want to work in industry then it might be worth looking into the CIMA qualification as it is gives a more broader commercial scope than the ACCA in some circumstances such as learning costing and stock management in detail. Whereas the ACCA does delve into more of the technical IFRS, UK GAAP areas of preparing financial statements for example.
So I don’t need to anything after that for my letter to come or do I need to call in?
Hello there if you think that you need to prepare a self assessment return after completing the free checker then I wouldn't wait to inform HMRC of this. There have been cases in the past where for example landlords earning rental income haven't declared this for years and have in some cases faced penalties etc. I would ring HMRC to discuss this and ask to speak to their technical helpline for self assessment.
