My thoughts on the new hypertough high Torque. #hypertough #tools #inexpensive #powertools
You talked a lot! I thought you were going to talk and use it too!
Getting some mild steel brought in so I can show capabilities of the die grinders and drills. Hope to do it soon. I can talk all day when it comes to tools lol
Hello Sir, I love the story and information on this Hyper Tough High Torque Impact. Are you going to do any kind of torque test to show it in action? 🇺🇸
Will do, waiting for some stronger fasteners to show up. The grade 8 bolts stretch the threads before i can get to 750 foot pounds.
thats a great deal
With the recip exchange the mid torque set me back $138 with 2 batteries.
@@ToolsNTechBTR hmm maybe not as good of a deal as I thought
Goes to show the old saying that says you get what you pay for doesn't hold so true anymore great video man
the snap on looks like the worst built one lol
I've got the milwaukee m12 right angle die grinder and it's probably the most used power tool I own ! That being said, I will be purchasing one of these immediately due to the fact that its waaaaaay cheaper than the alternative.
I have these as well as a new 1/4 inch they came out with. These have been awesome for me especially the extended reach one.
Long neck Walmart ratchets 😼
Milwaukee makes the m12 straight and right angle and the right angle is a beast but a lot more expensive!
Spotted it when I was watching someone else's video last night. Looks like about 4 times more expensive. I'll just keep a spare lol
@ToolsNTechBTR I have one and I like it but very expensive compared. I just bought the High Torque 1/2" last night to review and beat on for awhile and it looks promising..
I got the m12 with 5.0 battery and it is quite ac power house. But the price tag hurts just using it. So I'll save it for tough jobs. But the hyper tough is cheap and i can stock a couple of em for dedicated light work fir the price of my m12. Been branching out to other hyper tough tools as well (they got an inflator now).
These are being manufactured by the same company that made the Craftsman Nextec, it makes me think of where those would be if Sears didn't fail Craftsman. The cordless die grinders are great. Good review, no spazzing out about how it can survive a drop of 1300ft or how it can't be used as a starter replacement on a Detroit 8V71
Appreciate it, that's the hope. Maybe we can cut the crappy marketing and get to does it work.
The Klutch battery is available at your local Northern Tooll if you have one nearby fyi.
They also do 2 day delivery if you order online in lower 48.
Thanks for posting, the pry bat is identical to the Matco indexable prybar also.
Add another name to the list lol
I prefer mid and compact size due to weight and size. They usually do 90+% of what I need. Only when they don't work I move up to a high torque and as the last resort 3/4 impact/breaker bar/heat option.
I wish i got the ryobi high torque but the mid torque was such a good deal. 199 for 3 hp batteries(6,4&2ah) a charger shitty fabric bag and the impact free. Then i got the 3/8” long reach ratchet with a 4ah hp battery for $135. I dont care what anyone days ryobi HP is pro grade
I agree, Ryobi has come a very long way in the past decade. Its still the weaker of the bigger brand names but quality is top notch.
I’m pretty happy with mine. I’m definitely not in the market to pay $200+ for one.
Thats the point alot of ppl need to take home. Maybe not the best but I was certainly impressed.
I usually only bust out my mid torque DeWalt DCF891 or Dong Cheng DCPB698 when working with lower control arms, absorbers, leaf springs nuts, transmission housing bolts, wheel bearings for pickup truck, other than that is just DCF922 or DCPB488 for daily use. DCF900 only comes out maybe 3 or 4 times a year, when someone overtighten the bolt on transmission housing (using impact extension= diminished torque delivery on most mid torque)
Man I love the low pro sockets.
Had the extended reach one and it lasted 3 bolts maybe before it snapped at the head. 😂 Bought Bauer one and had 0 issues so far.
Smack a DeWalt Battery on that thing. 😅
Grab the klutch 8ah, it's 21700-40 cells. Direct fit and a world of difference.
@ToolsNTechBTR Would you say it's better than the XR? Not being funny, it's a genuine question.
@ToolsNTechBTR I'm definitely keeping the Klutch battery in mind though, I don't know if I want to screw with a battery adapter like I would have to do with the DeWalt battery.
Mighty cool! Got get me one of these and a 6ah battery. Thanks for doing this.
Which one do you use more
The extended reach is more useful for tight spaces. Especially for the newer vehicles with all the emissions plastic.
Hyper tough and klutch also share their mid torque impact wrench
Klutch still carries that model, hypertough dropped it for the black label mid Torque. About a hundred flb stronger.
@ yes the new hyper tough is definitely much better than the old one. I just think it’s funny how they shared the exact same tool.
I returned the Hercules ultra torque 1/2” I bought on Black Friday and picked up this Wmart impact. It’s another battery ecosystem to add to my collection but for $99 I’ll bite the bullet. 3 year warranty? It’s wal mart. They’ll pretty much take anything back at any time and replace it, especially their house brand products.
Nice collection, just subscribed!👍
Thanks so much, still adding. What can I say I like tools lol.
Had the bauer for about some months now and its really worth the price no issues with it.
What else you have
Convinced me brought bought 2 one for work and one for side hustle/home
I like your line of thinking, this is y ppl like me always have tools and no $. Lol
No dice on DCK/Dong Cheng batteries. All of the Avid Power batteries I can find on Amazon are both expensive, and likely not compatible due to the large center notch on HT tools.
I have a last gen avid power high torque, "guess I'm a tool nut lol" the battery fits. Unfortunately that one was left in a roadside rig and no longer works so I wasn't able to check function. Shame on the dong chang battery, guess I'll have to get a couple of their tools since I already bought the battery.
Dong Cheng 20V tools are tough but also cheaps, but not the 12v line though. Usually are equipped by contractors for their workers here in South East Asia because of the price points. Also the design of the Hyper Tough bears a similarity to DOBEX 20V power tools. Just search on Google.
@@ToolsNTechBTR Their brushless drills are solid. Cheap and they beat most of the budget options available, per TTC.
I just saw a video of a guy torquing a bolt to 700 lbs and the High Torque busted it loose with ease. He was shocked. Not saying it’s true, however after listening to this testimony, it might just be true. At $99. I have to get one just because. At some point they have to go up in price.
If it will remove wheel nuts or a Honda crank bolt or even press in and out a hub bearing I'LL BUY ONE IN A HEARTBEAT!!
For the price why wouldn’t you get one lmao it’s a good backup impact or for each day use till it’s broken and go get another one
thanks for doing this video glad to see someone finally see if this works
If you used the adapter fpr dewalt the 8amp battery gives it a big bump in breakaway lb
yeah but the dewalt battery is $220 plus the cost of the adapter vs the klutch battery at $100
You could build a test setup, other people on youtube have these. They will use new finethread bolt with lubricated threads and they will tell you torque values after hammering on the thing for 10 or 15 seconds. But what most people will want to know is how will the tool work on the jobs that they need it to do. What size rusted lug nuts and suspension components will it remove, what size crank bolt, pitman arms, axle nuts, things like that. I bought a new compact tool and it spins off my 140 ft-lb lug nuts just fine but I haven't tried it on 190 ft-lb control arm bolts. You could walk around your shop with a camera, or a junkyard, and film it removing various large fasteners. Another thing that would justify a large tool- when you have to use extensions and universal adapters just to reach the fastener you lose a lot of torque that way. You could film it in common scenarios with extensions and/or universal adapters and how well will it do with them. About the batteries- you can buy a cheap adapter on Amazon that will allow it to take DeWalt batteries.
How did you find out they take klutch batteries? I’m thinking about buying this set up, just want to make sure
Friend told me about it personally, however if you put klutch and hypertough into the UA-cam searchbar there are a couple ppl on here confirming it as well. Budget tools actually shows the swap on camera.
mmm TTC released his video on it yesterday. 580's in forward and 774 in reverse. Up with the Milwaukee 2767 and Hercules Ultra Torque, with a 4ah battery. It hit 892 with a dewalt 8ah powerpack, damned impressive. What a time to be alive.
I know, they beat me to the punch lol. Great to see though. It's about time the gear most people can afford catches up.
1:48 Dude, I bulid tool/ebike battery pack as a hobby. In my experience, Low capacity high drain chinisium 18650(1500~2000mAh) is quite decent now days. But if you want high capacity AND high drain capable 18650(2500~3000mAh) Believe me, don't even look at them lol
Isn't that the truth, guess we should be glad they capped these at 4ah. Lol
Heck yeah!
Great video, looking forward to the hyper tough high torque review
My dad would say if the tool can't get it done with what it comes with then it ain't worth buying
Anything wrong with putting a 1/4 adapter on the impact wrench?
Not at all, that's exactly what we use it for, top of the engine and interior work it's a great little light weight hammer. Just doesn't have enough umph for anything more than that.
@@ToolsNTechBTR Sorry I meant 1/4 hex adapter to use this as an impact driver.
I may grab a 6ah to see if there's enough boost to break free the Tesla lugs.
With the 6ah it'll do lugs, really just didn't wanna encourage ppl who might not know better. Or find themselves in the situation where someone hit um with a high torque.
@@ToolsNTechBTR This morning I bought a 6ah from walmart and then later discovered yet another nail in the tire of my wife's sienna. Didn't realize it was in '1', it did pull the lugs off. Tried again on the tesla, switched to '2' and it pulled one off in less than 5s. With a 4ah it wouldn't budge any of those lugs. Well, it only broke free some of the lugs. I had a tire on that one replaced and the rest rotated a couple months back by a shop nearby. I have tire irons in all of my cars.
Do you need the receipt to return it?
You absolutely do, they won't honor the warranty without proof of purchase. Thanks for watching!
Junk
Appreciate the insight. I've a background in electronics repair, and if my 20v compact ever bites the dust, these 12ga high current carrying wires will be among my first points to check. Thermal camera may reveal more. Last time I used my 20v compact, it was on a fastener which was ridiculously over-torqued. The impact itself was slightly cold, and immediately cut out on the first two attempts - but then started hammering as intended. Battery fully charged. Later, we discovered this fastener was torqued in excess of 1200 +/- ft-lbs. Coworker bent his cheater bar, and even a Milwaukee high torque wouldn't get it off. On the flip side, my HT high torque was defective out of the box. Light didn't work. Seems they pinched the wires upon assembly to the LED diode. Nothing I couldn't fix, but the wire was rather short. Wonder if TTI puts newer hire employees to work assembling lower end tools such as the HT, in preparation of the higher end Milwaukee?
It’s actually crazy impressive how good they are for the price
Hey there, merry Christmas bro
Happy holidays!
never trust a guy with a snap-on impact wrench
Under sized motor is okay as long as it spins up in a second or two. Bigger battery may definitely improve the spin up.
More hypertough please !!!
