That music gets you going
IAN now says the 12.6 x 27.5 is better than the 14 x 26. I was interested by the 14 as a fast touring low profile board I can also paddle sidewinds and up wind with minimal windage. This board looks like my dream .
Que lugar maravilhoso
Great and useful video, i apreciate this...hello from Bucharest, Romania...i am Maryo, 52 years old, firefighter here..subscribed to your channel :)
Excellent! I love to paddle in waves🙂
you have to train in all conditions because race day comes and wind don't stop
I learned to fly the ama recently and my coach recommended putting less pressure on the blade. He said balance with your body and a very light touch with the paddle. I'm slowly moving in that direction.
Love it! You're in that va'a groove.
Can you wipe the drops of water on the camera first next time :p
The camera went into the water so droplets remained in the lense. The last thing I was worried about was wiping down my lense. I was trying to catch my breathe!
I know i was kidding juni :p
Oh my
Just awesome! Great video for the Spring Valley Lake Yacht Club Regatta
holly cow that racing looks so fun
Why paddle when very windy?? Then
Develop your strengths.
There will be times where the wind will pick-up when you didn’t expect it.
Ada boy! You did awesome Juni so proud of you. Way to represent Kabanui. love the video and music.. need to ask Santa for a GoPro lol 😆 😅 see you soon!
Juni, you see ALL THAT NOSE volume ABOVE the water of the Infinity board .. it really doesn't to the floatation volume.. at least your SIC is more streamlined against any wind !
So cool! Was that Kristin Thomas on your left?
Yes. She kicked my ass
@@kabanuistanduppaddlecrew4299 she kicks a lot of ass!
Hey ! I made your race start video! Cool camera work!
Insta360 OneX2 camera
If I did 20 strokes on one side, my board would have done a 360.😂
Mine would have done a 720 🥲
Here's a great video from Blue Planet on "How to paddle straight" ua-cam.com/video/SBURA5HvTOM/v-deo.html
I was steersman for Kapolioka in the yellow shirts. Nice push at the finish. I was going to make you pass me on the right though. I was just inside the left finish buoy.
Which PFD is being used?
One from cvs
I use a waist pfd
How did you keep it tracking straight for the full 20 strokes?
I'd do about 3 perfect circles in 20 strokes :)
Hes got a nice sport sup that probably tracks better than most. But! Search up a J stroke or C stroke, these are strokes that help counterbalance the turning that a normal stroke gives you. Rather than just pulling your paddle parallel to your board, you reach out away from your board, pull towards your nose on a diagonal, then keep your stroke parallel with the board and finish off pushing diagonal away from your board in a kind of C shape. Also pay attention to where you place your weight when you are paddling, i cant remember right now, but depending on your weight being over inner/outer foot it affects your tracking as you paddle. I ride an 11’6” irocker nautical through big ocean chop island to island, i have no chance keeping straight doing 20 strokes on sided lol.
@@florjangjolaj4436 Yes you're right! A good board with a good fin will help you to track straight. However, if you notice this board is very, very tippy. I was using an SIC FX14, dugout. Only 3 of this kind were ever made around 2016. It has a pintail stearn, so even at 14' x 25", this board was tippy!!! However, it was also fast. At the beginning of the video, I mentioned that you should pick a spot in front of you to focus on and to aim your bow (front of the board) towards that spot. By getting your hands over the water and pushing straight down, then you should keep your board fairly straight. And yes, the J-Stroke or Draw Stroke is very helpful in making corrections, very good suggestion.
Here's a great video from Blue Planet on "How to paddle straight" ua-cam.com/video/SBURA5HvTOM/v-deo.html
This angle makes it look like you went from 0-60 mph in 8 strokes lol
I wish! LOL
hi can I ask what board and size you r friend are using?
14 feet x 26inches
How many sets of each do you do?
We actually stack each exercise on top of the next. So it works like this: 1) 10 push-ups on your board, then paddle sprint in the Water 100 yards. 2) 10 push-ups on your board, 10 burpees on the sand, then paddle sprint in the Water 100 yards 3) 10 push-ups on your board, 10 burpees on the sand, 10 leg lifts, then paddle sprint in the Water 100 yards 4) 10 push-ups on your board, 10 burpees on the sand, 10 leg lifts, 20 mountain climbers, then paddle sprint in the Water 100 yards 5) finish with a 50 yard sprint on the sand Then we do the #dunkandrecoverchallenge, followed by 20 minutes of Buoy and Pivot turns. We then cool down with a casual 1-2 mile paddle
Awesome work out Juni 😆 thanks! Looking forward to next Tuesday! 😎🏄♀️🏄🌅
Hard core work out.. I'm nervous about our Tuesdays cross training now 😄🤣😂
Wow Juni.. Thank you .. The HYPR Ohana owners worldwide will love this Aloha Ian
the colour is great
Essentially you're saying strongest position is prone boarding. Makes me think if I sit down and use a kayak paddle will be better. Even better.... in a KAYAK.
😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing this drill! What is the app that shows your speed, elevation, etc. at the bottom of the screen?

Great advice, especially the short strokes and nose in the water.
Thank you!!
