Yez. Your test acurated. I feel it . 16-50 so much better for image quality

i own a valdai 44-2 and it does its job good being a 44-2. well built, very pastel colored, dreamy looking pictures with swirly bokeh and good center sharpness wide open. its flaws are also it strengts so i dont even mind if the KMZ version is the better one because if you really want a vintage lens with very good contrast and sharpness, there are better ones in the same price range. so i would not say avoid the valdai, if you want more contrast just correct it in post

I'm still not clear if you think Valdai is recommended or not recommended. I think you confused it several times.

Yes, the black mist is a winner. Obviously you speak more than one language and do it extremely well. I speak 1.2 languages. In other words, I speak English but can order dinner in 4. So, Cine is pronounced Sin uh.

I always like to go back to the classics like Casablanca and look at the perfect shadow exposures on the faces when they are only highlighted by light coming from behind them. I can't imagine the testing sent to the labs, the printing instructions, the adjusting all departments had to do for this level of perfection. Then there's those filters. French stocking material? The wet eyes... the different lighting for men and women..Still, It's those details they kept in the face shadows that impresses me the most. Always just enough.

I imagine this is for indoor work as screens are so hard to see outdoors. A custom cowling, like a viewer you hold when viewing slides on a light box would be great with this outdoors. Like a hood that attaches magnetically.

Thank you for this video. I believe you didn't touch on playback of footage on camera though. I tried crop mood recently and I noticed that I can't playback footage on the camera after recording. It works on Danne's build but I couldn't get it to work on crop mood for some reason. I just get a black screen and the frame number counting down. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you

Id say that shooting on the eos m with crop mood, the only difference ive found in shooting in 10 bit vs 12 bit vs 14 bit is that the higher the bit rate, the less color noise there is in the shadows and the more you can raise the shadows in post, so if shot right its a little more dynamic range. Also shooting dual iso is fantastic cant recommend it enough for hdr settings
