Hi, that is a very good question, thx for asking. Burning forest: your usual fire weapons are not capable to set forests ablaze due to two reasons. First, you need to inflict fire damage, but your weapons are not doing any damage to trees as their tool tier is not high enough. Second, trees are immune to fire by vanilla and I did not change this. The Troll with the burning log on the other hand, can set forests ablaze, as Troll attacks have iron tier. If you are lucky, you can ignite some smaller bushes, but they will break before the fire can spread from there. So, in the normal gameplay it is very unlikely that you would ever see a burning forest, that's why I added some events and locations to increase the chance to experience a burning forest. Fire does not spread from burning creatures (until now). If I would add it, it still would be unlikely, as the creature would move, thus only inflicting a small fraction of damage to each piece. I want to keep playability of this mod high, so if you find some issues or unbalances, please let me know. Please endorse my mod if you like it.

I love them too ❤, this was with env clear and tod 0.5. Though I really had some hard times with particle effects find some kind of algorithm to autoscale the fire pit flame to all pieces. These particles add up so nicely to the atmosphere.

@@Nefari0zYT meaning the setting was with clear weather and midday, but the setting appears darker due to the mist. No worries about terms, as long as you use my mod 😉

Wards should already protect from ignition by fire damage, but the thunder events are different. There will be something in the Ashlands update that will help you to protect your base from these events.

Yes it will! The Ashlands fire is not made for early game biomes. This mod offers a more playable, more realistic and more performant option.

Oh, actually it is not part of the base game, though I would not mind if it would. It is still a mod which is imo way better in respect to quality, performance, realism and playability compared to what IG added to the base game.

In the meantime also forests burn, but you cant ignite with the usual fire weapons. By now trees only start burnimg with fire sources like fire pit or badly placed torches. I am unsure if letring the trees start to burn with normal fire weapons is a good idea, but if needed I could make a config for it. Hope you like it.

The grass is a bit more complicated. I will need a new approach for this. Its in my backlog.

grass does not burn, but does now get a black tint

It wont break from the regular fire pit, but uncontrolled fire can also set cooking stations on fire.
