A PoV ride to The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales on my Honda ADV350. Some of the finest roads and scenery in England. This little bike runs and handles beautifully and can get a sprint on when required, I had great fun both scratching on fast B roads as well as pottering along unclassified roads. All in all, 300 miles done in a day, beautiful sunshine, no aches and pains, all while averaging...

Got a red chrome, perfect bike,in my sixties so just right for me getting back into bikes after forty years, heavy though, done same mileage now, mods done, decat pipe, dna air filter, fuel x light which makes it run much better, cooler, slower steadier tickover,no backfires, cleaner pickup, also put the screen on,and a sixteen tooth gearbox sprocket, cruises better,no noticeable loss of go from standstill, build qaulity is superb, makes you wonder how they are so reasonably priced, tends to draw curious onlookers,so expect lots of chats! done 2k miles on mine, and ride it at every oppurtunity, weather permitting!
They really are excellent bikes. I only traded mine in because a really good deal came up on a as new classic 500 tribute black, very last of the production run, and I somehow prefer the more agricultural feel of the 500s.
Ey up Love those back lanes, especially those on top. I’ve sat on that seat over looking Hope Cement Works and made a brew on my camp stove. Very satisfying and calming Thanks for uploading
It's a perfect location for wee back roads. They really are excellent bikes for it. I only traded mine in because a really good deal came up on an as new classic 500 tribute black, very last of the production run, and I somehow prefer the more agricultural feel of the 500s.
Hi. I watched this twice just in case i missed something the first time. However...... What the hell had this got to do with Mr S's cat? Or am i missing something here! 😂
Sometimes I feel alive, sometimes not. Just like Shroedinger's cat.
Nice ride mate. I Love my little 350 classic. Performance? Limited. Enjoyment? off the scale. I'm in no rush to get anywhere, and let's be honest, who would want to blast past that wondeful scenery . Zen riding is what calms the soul.
Thanks Lee, my thoughts exactly.
Nice, really really nice rideout, thanks, ric, ontario canada.
Thanks very much Ric.
Went from a 900 Kawasaki to my little 350 classic 2 years ago totally reliable. It's twice the bike the Kawasaki was. Yes, it's not very powerful, but it has magnificent character and soul, which is something after many test rides no modern tecno bikes I've tried come close to. Not a highway bike, but let's be fair. Are they fun to travel on a bike or in a car miles of nothing to do but sit there. B roads? Total zen and joy
Who wants to ride on a highway anyhow buddy, perfect for the roads around my place.
nice video. Love my red/chrome. A real joy on back roads.
I've read and heard from other reviewers similar but they say the clutch work you have to be very precise it's not a lot of room for error and perhaps not for beginners or those a bit lazier in shifts. The low end torque and is good for newbies for sure. Thoughts?
I've not noticed any issues whatsoever, the clutch is lovely and light.
I've not heard any reviewer say that,it's one of the lightest clutches and sweetest gearboxes ive ever used,if you can't ride this, then get a twist and go!
@@batty109 I'm glad to hear you have a positive experience with it. Sounds favourable. I got this information directly from other reviews of this bike I have not ridden it myself yet so I cannot say. So it's interesting that the impressions are so different of it. I guess comes down to the user.
Sound reminded me of my 1995 model RE 350.
They sound quite wonderful.
I have exactly the same one and i love cruising on highways with my airpods on😎
Great. Which country or place is this..?
U.K.
Many thanks. This is in the county of West Yorkshire, England.
@@Matt_Lethbridgeconfused me as title says Peak District
@@derbyshireruralrider9398 Peak district stretches into West Yorkshire and Staffordshire as far as I am aware.
@ I know it goes into Staffs but wasn’t sure about W Yorks though I know there’s nice roads going from Holmfirth to Glossop
Is your exhaust hitchcock please ?
Another cracking ride Matt, Ethel sounds fabulous climbing those hills, all the best buddy 👍
Cheers buddy, yes, she really sounds awesome, a cross between a helicopter and a Lancaster...........😄
ILOVE my 350 :)
Brilliant bikes.
Exhaust sounds awesome.. What you got? ua-cam.com/video/gvAkMMyqNO0/v-deo.htmlsi=BgAT4JiA2qbCBQ89
Beautiful :)
Thanks Gilberto.
Good one - love mine too
Many thanks Tom.
Another cracking video Matt , fabulous colours at this time of year, though the roads are a tad slick 😂 but the wee Enfield’s are perfect for tootling around the lanes, all the best buddy 👍
Thanks Mike. They have just enough power to be fun, but not enough to get you into too much trouble on the greasy stuff.
Well done passing those horses, I like that bike but I’m in a quandary now they’ve bought out the 650.
Thanks Philip. The 650 looks like a great bike, but the singles are great for the lanes that I ride.
Great positive review! Reckon I need one! 👍👏😀🏍
many thanks indeed!
I rode the only one they had. 23 miles on it Royal Enfield classic. Breaking it in now . . Very good machine.
I like mine 2023. Very enjoyable 1st bike and more!
Cheers @shop970. Loved mine as well.
@@Matt_Lethbridge . Except I'm in the U.S. Few and far between to see one or purchase one. But slowly breaking it in. Fine for me . Senior. Mild rides! Cheers!
Hello! Should I buy Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 or Royal Enfield Classic 350 should you help me with this?
I could not sat really, I have yet to try the Shotgun 650.
What an interesting ride and you got some cracking photo’s, the new bike looks and sounds fabulous especially through the tunnels 👍 all the best buddy 👍
Many thanks indeed Mike, I really love the more agricultural feel of the 500.
Smashing ride Matt bike looking awesome 👍
Many thanks indeed Mark.
I have the same bike / colour myself and a gt650 to go with it😎👍
Nice concept, moto music and no canned music background. Great views that speak for themselves, an RE classic that does the same, and a mellow autumn bike culture vibe. Well done.
Thanks very much indeed Simulera.
Cracking ride Matt, loving the new bike, it does sound gorgeous with that pipe on, so glad you’re back buddy 👍 we’ve missed your rides around god’s own 😉 all the best buddy 👍
Many thanks indeed Mike, very kind buddy.
Great ride mate I’ve got exactly the same bike I love the agricultural feel to it. I know them lanes very well too I’m an Huddersfield lad. Just out of interest what exhaust have you got on it ? Sounds really good👍
Many thanks indeed Mark, grand area. The exhaust is a stainless silencer from Hitchcocks, here's a link SILENCER, WITH LONG INLET (Inc. CLIP & BRACKET), C5 EFI (2017on EURO4)
@@Matt_Lethbridgemany thanks for the confirmation Matt I’ll get one ordered. Cheers
@@markchallenger8512 Mine currently is running without the supplied baffle fitted.......................sounds glorious when riding.
Ace, it immediately reminded me how much I used to enjoy riding my bike over 40 years ago.
Thanks very much pal, just the thing for the lanes around here.
Good to see you back. Have you changed the 350 for the 500. I went the other way after a test ride of the 350, but I do miss the sound, although I think the 350 is a better handling bike and qui ker overall compared to the 500 I had
Thanks Phil. I traded the 350 via a Honda ADV 350 and back to the 500. The 350 was a brilliant little bike, had some of the character of the older bikes, handled better and cruised more comfortably, but lacked the soul of the 500's. I like the more agricultural feel of the 500, and when the tribute black came up for sale, I just could not resist it. The 350 is probably the better bike but the 500 just suits me better, bigger grin factor.......
@@Matt_LethbridgeDoes this have anything to do with the difference in torque between the two?
@@mattcc6603 More to do with the less polished, more traditional (agricultural) feel of the 500. It does feel stronger pulling from low revs, no where near as smooth above 50mph though.
Same as my ride, messaged you in Facebook as to whether you prefer it or RE Classic on back lanes
Some of my favourite lanes there. Only a couple of days ago I found back lanes linking Hathersage, Hope & Bradwell (see video) the latter which as you say looks a lovely village but without being full of tourists
A beautiful part of the world to just bimble around on a bike for sure.
What a lovely ride!
Thanks very much Ralf.
I am a relatively newcomer in the World of bikes, I find there is a hell of alot of snobbery between the CC`s. Correct me if I am wrong.
Never found it a problem even when I had a 125 scooter people would chat at cafes
@@derbyshireruralrider9398 Well bigger cc bikes don`t knod 125cc riders for a start mate.
@@neiluk78 probably if it has L plate though I nod at all (except at places like z a Matlock Bath where there’s so many that head would never be still)
@@derbyshireruralrider9398 Yeah true buddy.
Up at the lakes at the moment with the family wishing I had my bike, which is 100’s of miles away at home! Think this little adv350 must be ideal for the roads up here, so many gs’s and the like around which must be a ball ache on some of the roads up here!
no gloves how amateurish
Thanks. Next time I'll ensure I get some unneeded and unnecessary "expert" advice from a "professional" .
They are nice but with the parallax I'd be unhappy without exact composition.
I enjoy the informal, spontaneous nature of this video....
Well done, splendid compositions. How did you manage to see the film numbers, Ilford prints these in grey.
Many thanks @Autorange888. I could see the numbers through the red window fine with this camera.
Wow! Inspiration for my own Holga shots. Beautiful dreamy work!
Many thanks indeed @Brackcycle
Great compositions! They remind me of old b&w photo books of England. Very nostalgic.
@Brackcycle Many thanks indeed.
I like it very much, Matt!! It is not the camera, that takes the pictures, it is you behind the camera 👍 regards, Dierk
Thanks very much indeed.
Very nice. Where can I get human skin gloves? 😉
Cheers. No idea about the gloves, born with mine................
Perfect Lakes ride out, The road to Haweswater in the Far Eastern lakes is awesome if you’ve yet to try that.
Thanks Adrian, I'll take a run up that way next time I'm in The Lakes.
Lovely video and beautiful views,I’ve just got my ADV 350 and hope to do some long trips like you’ve done. How are you liking your ADV,especially on long rides? Please upload more of this 🙏
Many thanks indeed @bikerforever68. I love the ADV, very comfortable and economical over long distances.
about 7 minutes into the film where is that and what rd is it. been to the lakes many times but not seen that.
