I have owned many cars in my life - way before most of you were born. I don't consider myself a gear head, but in my younger days, I would put an aftermarket (otherwise known as "mods") or two to impress my friends, but mostly for the ladies. As time past, I graduated from college, got married, had children, retired from the military and gotten older.
So here I am, mid life crisis and all, I bought a car. I have been an EV owner (specifically a Tesla) since 2015, and I consider this car an investment. I keep it garaged, spotless and rarely drive it in bad weather.
Don't complain to me - I told you "Don't waste your time, this video may not be for you". However, I have met some really cool Tesla and EV owners and decided to find out their stories. These videos to me are interesting topics and they cross a wide spectrum of the lives of people who want to reduce their carbon footprint. I hope you will enjoy them.

Will I be lucky the third time getting the Powerwall back on line? Nope! After wiring the gateway with an ethernet cable, I was so sure that this would work. I'm still not quitting after the Powerwall has been offline for over 6 weeks! As I have said before, I call Tesla and ask for someone to address my issue by staying persistent but not a pest!

In mid July, my community had a "grid outage." My wife and I noticed that our interior lights blinked for a few seconds. She looked outside to see if anyone lost power, but could not tell because it was late afternoon. I checked the Tesla Powerwall app and saw a yellow triangle with the words, "Powerwall is Offline."I thought to myself that this should be a quick fix; it was not!

A very random, unprepared stop at the local Toyota dealership, I decided to see if they had their newest electric vehicle. @@nodd85 Wow! A big thanks! If you have noticed, I have over 300 videos in which I drop a new one every Saturday morning. For an example when I attend an EV event, lest say I interviewed 4 people; this means I have a month of videos. All I have to do is to edit them. This how I continue to show fairly new content. That being said, the way these Powerwall videos happens is, I have to wait on them to call. Typically it takes them about two weeks to call me back or I have to be "persistent" to get some type of status. As of this writing (October 16th) they reached out to me two weeks ago for me to try "something new" which did not work. I received an email from them last week informing me that they will finally come to the house on November 3rd. In the meantime I had some videos already edited and uploaded in UA-cam. I interviewed my wife who finally purchased an EV after me owning my Model S for nine years! By the way, I was really nervous when interviewing her. Also I had a friend who rode out the hurricane in Tampa last week. She has two EV's and I wanted to know her thought process of staying in her home. Those videos are coming soon. This weeks video is the installation of two wall connector that "talk" to each other when charging both vehicles! So, the next Powerwall update will air November 16th. Hopefully the November 3rd visit will be the last Powerwall video (fingers crossed)! Thanks again for your support. It means a lot to me watching my crappy videos!!

@@Waldorf9651 And we would have to remember the codes for each function. And if we hardly ever used it, it would be easy to mess up.
This is exactly what I was afraid was going to happen, go through all the expenses to put in a new line, and still doesn't work. I guess because I have spare cat 6 cables laying around, I would have done that connection before they even left when they were there. I'm surprised they didn't have any in their van to test that out. To see if that would fix it. I think that was a failure on their part.
@nathanpotter8569 - I should have made it a bit clear! The electricians were NOT from Tesla. They were there to install my two new wall chargers. Tesla has indicated to me that they will come to my home around the 1st of next month. The saga continues! Thanks for watching!!!
I tried to upgrade my power wall connection when I purchased a faster Wi-fi unit. It would not connect. I had to use the connection that I had when it was installed. That works! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to get back your full capabilities.

There was no need to run a cable. Simply install next to the charger a wifi extender that has an ethernet output port, so it'd be a small 3-foot etherner cable from wifi extender to the Tesla charger.

Where was the waist of time part!? 🤣. Great vid, thank you for posting! I did a brief test drive in a 450 4matic in Seattle couple days ago. Used $55kish so seems like a pretty good deal. Adaptive cruise and lane keeping in city traffic were magical features to try.

Kinda surprised that they didn't setup cell service as primary, and WLAN secondary. But I would *highly* suggest you run a network cable to the box, and get them back to connect it up under the gateway's inside panel. No more range/password change/interference issues! Also, you can connect directly to the Powerwalls WiFi to see status. Details on that on the inside panel of the gateway.

Better dashboard and seats, Apple/Android car play presumably, better build quality. Having to stop the car and look at the center screen on the Tesla all the time is a REAL pain. I would much rather have this EQS over a Tesla.

3:59 And also the Summon Feature, I use that all the time. If someone parks too close to your Tesla and your wheelchair won’t fit between the cars, then you can use summon to pull the Tesla out of the parking spot.

I had my i3 until it got just over 100k miles. Changed to 100% as often as possible, mostly out of necessity. The battery was still in great shape when I traded it in.

A lot of EVs, it's really hard to tell now. I saw an Equinox from the back so I couldn't tell. I saw a Mini Cooper from the back and far away so couldn't tell but it sounded like an EV. In a way it's good for EVs to be incognito. At least the owner knows.😅😅

Thanks. Nice to meet this nice young man of 6 foot 3 and 3/4. I met a fellow at Winston-Salem Cars and Coffee and he never owned an EV and his first EV was going to be a Bz4X, Prolougue or Accura ZDX. After that, I have tried to study these EVs so I can talk intelligently about them. Therefore this content was helpful. Thanks.

I have a new Toro battery mower, it sucks, drive wheel falls off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.

I have 2 years free charging at Electrfy America but I've only used it once. Otherwise I charge at home.🤣🤣
I don't have 360 camera because I bought the low trim SE. Yes, the 360 camera looks great. I like my sound system also in the Ioniq6.
My Hyundai Ioniq6 has a small frunk but just for me to drive 30 miles a day. The heat pump takes a lot of space in the frunk. I like having a heat pump. Charge it once a week in summer.

To be honest, I have not been much of a fan of Amazon, so I don't use the service very much. But I have to say that Amazon's adoption of Electric delivery vans is pretty cool. This video was filmed in Maryland, but I also see Amazon using these Vans in Illinois, which makes since because Illinois is where Rivian vehicles are made.

In my town, they have taken the old, small "Jeep" type vehicle off the road and replaced them with a slightly larger vehicle.
