SQUARE BEZEL - HOW TO SET A SQUARE SHAPED AQUAMARINE - THE DIAMOND SETTER - 60 MINUTES STONESETTING
THIS 18KT GOLD RING GOT A BRAND NEW BEZEL.
The old one was worn out and I knew it was just a question of time when the stone will fall out.

After a ver long (busy) time without creating new content I'm proud to share this NEW VIDEO with all of you!
I've racked my head - Not only because the video is so long, but also because I wasn't sure how to edit the video.
In the end I just thought to myself - KEEP IT SIMPLE.
Except for 3 or 4 video cuts, the video is unabridged and unadulterated.
EVERY step is visible, every movement is visible, every "secret" is visible.
You decide what to watch and where to fast forward.
This setting technique is the product of many many years.
With this technique you are able to set any gemstone you like. No pressure against the girdle or the thinnest parts of the stone. The material gets slowly moved over the upper facets of the stone.
Observe the angle of the bezel when starting, where to start and so on.

To make a brightcut, it is essential to create a clearance angle between the graver and the surface. The bigger the radius of the piece (stone), the sharper the angle of this facet. How to fix small gold tubes for stonesetting

Sometimes it is difficult to clamp small peaces. This is my solution for this problem. The device is part of an old handpiece that I have modified. Tubes with 1mm up to 5mm can be clamped (depending on the chuck) Now i can fix my small peaces without shellac or thermo-loc! Other methods for clamping are for me not satisfactory anymore. Thank you so much for this- I’ve been trying to figure out how to cut a graver for this purpose for WEEKS and none of the information I found was clear enough to allow me to do it. This, I think, is what I needed. Understanding the function and mechanics of it makes it a lot easier to figure out the angles I need to create.

Its a carbide ball bur. Most of the time i use carbide tools. There are some downsides, and much more expensive, but the edge stays so much longer, and i can work much quicker. All the best ❤️

Just found you great vid ,is the occlusion medium you use water based or some other carrier? If you have trouble removeing it with ultra sonic cleaner ,obtain a baby food jar ,put solvent and un mounted piece with jar lid secured ,and put in ultrasonic cleaner, cheers John👍🇦🇺🐈⬛😎

it's worth all this equipment for the processing, casting into wire of whatever metal it is and david desired them ?
The question is how much you cast and if you also cast 3D models as well. So when casting 3D-Models like we do, then you can use the casting machine to pour high quality semi-finish peoducts. Simply because you habe no oxygen, controlled temperature and a mold that cools down the melt as quick as possible. Have a wonderful week ❤️
