Coukd you imagine how good this horse would have been with a great driver i mean this horse was a monster with paul who is terrible i can only imagine a top notch driver on this beast def would have went undefeated thats for sure
All horse racing is basically dead in America now. During its hey day, the horse tracks were the place to be
Simpler times folks. Then state run gambling and native casinos came along
My dad was driving Ruth’s Romeo he was a 3 or 4 year old stallion
Any of happy messenger driven by earnie houle
What a group of horses!
Vermont I assume?

slow back half
Great horse who left us way to early.
Big Trip! Cruises, went big trip to get up in deep stretch! He was all in!
I remember they were giving away free season passes on opening night one year. Lost all my money by about the 6th race. Ripped up the season pass in a million pieces. Stopped at an ATM on Rte 1 turned back around and had to pay to get back in. Ah - the life of the degenerate gambler. Robert Kraft unknowingly saved me money when he bought Foxboro Raceway and turned it into a parking lot for Pats games.
bad ass right on guys 🤣😂
This race reminds me of why I dislike half mile tracks.
Shadow Play was a dead game horse too. He is also now the sire of the fastest ever harness pacer
The beach is my all time favorite race horse in the pacers,,, shadow play was getting whipped while Paul just casually urged the beach to beat him,,,, no, he could've beat him a lot worse then that...but it doesn't matter he won and in my book he made it look easy like( I'm just teasing you )!!!! Yes his record has been broken but he was a true champion!!!

What a monster
Man that brings back memories
Every single time I hear this song I think of this 😂
Great time for a very wet track.
YEAHHHHHHH DAVEEEEE YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! 😀😀😀😃😀
SUPERHORSE!!!
MANAGER OF YONKERS RACE WAY MUST BE SELECTED TO HARNESS HALL OF FAME FACT MANAGER

You got my vote!! Where have your been? We haven’t seen you lately !! No White knight!!!
great call by howard
Bet on Bert many times a fine reinsman.
👍👍
Not bad for a half-miler with totally flat turns. I was a patrol judge there for a couple of seasons.
May have been Beach's best race
I was there that day. I bet Shady Daisy. That track was rock hard I-95.
Aw man that brings back memories. I was 17 in 1985 and a buddy of mine started bringing me here shortly after this. Winfield ore, Williamsburg one, Broadway premiere, songster - why did all these old horse names just pop into my head!
Anybody remember the theme song music for the hinsdale 1970s tv commercials? I cant find it on the internet....who did it? Whats the title? Is there a recording available? I miss hearing it! Havent heard it in years.
The way harness racing used to be
Did anyone else notice that Paul did not use the whip down the stretch, but the poor 2nd horse was beaten like crazy, there is no doubt that the whip has to go. I think this was Beach’s best race
Some Champion !
A huge race in the Beach's career. This kept him undefeated. He later lost to Art Official, of course, but this win was huge for his legacy, as his one loss was likely his greatest performance, and he lost to a drugged horse. This is a largely forgotten race, but at the time, and now in hindsight, it was a great race, and quite significant as far as legacy goes.
well said! tough half mile track in the mud. he really was the greatest
He lost because paul is a terrible driver
was at this game, such an incredible moment. missing this tonight😔😔
Jason Bartlett, pre Yonkers Raceway.
Simply awesome
What a race. What a memory. Thanks for sharing.
I LOVE IT!!!! GO BENNETT!!!!
the last harness card was in July 85. The big NH Lottery Sweeps race for 50,000 that day was the richest they ever ran. Would love to see that race.
Announcer almost peed his pants
Funny thing is Jon couldn't sing Prayer in the actual Album key now if his life depended on it and hasn't been able to since the Jersey Syndicate You in 1989 lol Jon has made Bon Jovi into a BRAND now instead of the BAND it used to be. Yes I'm 47 and the whole BJ catalog is the soundtrack to my youth, but just sayin....it ain't the same band it was back then......Richie Sambora left the band for a reason.
The whole “what” catalog now? 😳
Awweeee.. Such good memories
We still got a couple crops of babies left live and sum in mares bred by him
Do they do this at every game? I have to go see a Patriots game. I live near Houston and haven’t been. This gives me goosebumps
RIP BEACH, Greatest Pacer of ALL TIME, your only loss one of greatest miles EVER
