8:55 I think that is a transient voltage suppressor, TVS. Thanks for the video and your findings Tobi !
Standby is 2 amps at 13.4V, About 27Watts. at 15 hours that is 405Wh/ 13.3V (adjusted) that is 30AH. 12V is the Nominal.
Is it possible to have dual boot so you could boot Venus os or another pi operating system of the same card.
I'm sure you could configure this. I'm not having the skills to configure this on a Linux based platform though ;-)
FYI when using a torque wrench with crows foot, the crows foot should be at 90 degrees. The way you had it 180 degrees actually applies more torque and may be why the crows foot bent some
@@jerrywitt1140 thanks for watching and sharing this!
Thank you for the tests.
Great Job Thx
@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi How much height did the roof rack added? This is one of the roof rack systems that I'm currently eying on.
For 230 euro is very good
Thanks Tobi, good to see this test!
Used your example and was able to get a working cable first try connecting Vistron MPPT to Raspberry Pi 4 running Venus. Thanks!
Any update on victron gui v2 on RPi with non victron displays? I’m rocking beta 3.50 and it still seems non functional on my 4b and a 10” display.
Nothing on my end as of now, sorry
Is there any protection between the cells? As the housing of the cells is connected with negative connection. If it's just the thin blue plastic in between, I would never have dared to use the battery
Great vid thanks for sharing your tests, I was thinking of buying one of these. Can I suggest you turn off autofocus when you have the battery on the bench? It keeps focusing on your hands/arms and back again. It would be good to see the brand of cell to get an idea of lifetime as well. Thanks!
Thank for watching and your feedback! I realized this as well and didn't take good care of this in the past. I try to do this better going forward! Thanks for highlighting! Regarding LiTime. Here is the video, it should be in the QR reading: ua-cam.com/video/jJRtDGuVLj8/v-deo.html
@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi sorry I meant lifetime as in how many years or cycles will it last? Oh I see you mention generic cell lifetime in that video, but surely some cheap cells die sooner than others?
Just had this delivered. Can't wait to use it. Mine came with a floor and drain tube too.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy it! :-)
What's the purpose ot this device if you can't integrate it to Victron Cerbo GX?
I believe they wanted to build their own eco system... but as much as I know they did not follow up with this... SO just an alternative in case you don't want anything else but a shunt ;-)
They are the same company as Eco Worthy. This is Eco Worthy step brother but they are essentially identical.
I had my 2020 JLU aluminum steering box changed out to the steel one under the Jeep TSB. It made a significant difference in the overall tightness of the stearing. I never had death wobble...yet, but steering was overall a bit loose. Highly recommend getting the steel one.
Yeah, I wish mine would be unter warranty. They declined work on a TSB on mine since it is out of warranty...
I just received the same battery! So far impressed, but confused on the float voltage? 53.84v as per the 100% state?
I tried the update but had to revert. I'm still on 3.00 and when I go to 3.41 setup helper, shutdown, gpio, and temp sensor need an update to work. When I try to update I get an error or it says no file set for this version
You might have to re-install setuphelper afterwards as well to make it work. I hope this helps!
@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi tell me where I gotta send money to have one of you smart guys figure it out, lol Thanks!

Mind doing one on a cell phone 📲 battery too? Thank you kind sir
When I had problems like this, I set it to auto update. And after some time it was updated.
Thanks for sharing! Maybe this helps. but I might have some dependency I need to take care of first?! Still doing research ;-)
You used the wrong screws for the wing nuts/quick release.
Unsure if there's been a change but mine updated first attempt. Maybe the digital gods were smiling down on me XD
Thanks for watching and sharing! I bet they were!
Not available on their website or amazon. Price not listed on either site.
According to XRH it will be available on August 15 again. Not sure yet if it is on their website or Amazon ...
It says temperature control, but doesn't have one. Money back! Liars!
I highlighted this in my last email with them as well, since then I have not heard back from them at all ...
Tried to order the 300Ah battery, but the only options available sre the 280Ah?
@@richardharris5819 yeah they out of stock. I'm waiting for them to restock and make available on Amazon as well
Another great video. Thanks. My jk bms has a build in thermal protection and also external. Maybe the manufacture is referring to the built in one in there manual?
Thanks! I thought about this as well to heat up the BMS but have not done it in this video. :/
I have a Jeep Wrangler JLU 2019 I did the same process you did but the dealer said that I need a 9 quartz but it’s already full when it came to 5 - 6 quartz I tried to refill it more but it won’t let me refill the rest of my transmission fluid. It will just overflow. I did the cycle also but still
The additional quarts are in the torque converter which can only be emptied or flued changed with an entire transmission flush. According to the dealer there is no need to change the Trans fluid. Not sure if a dealer will do a transmission flush at all?? I hope this clarifies the remaining quarts ;-)
@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobithank you 1 more questions did you start your Jeep without the fluid or with the fluid already on the Trans Temp 86 - 122?
@@wyndelpuente6899 I added as much fluid possible then started the engine and let the transmission temp get warmer until it reached the minimum temperature.
I'm recording a similar video this weekend for a transmission pan upgrade but including the steps afterwards and I try to make them more obvious and easier to follow... I hope this will work ;-)
#4 wire doesn’t do 200A as the battery states the BMS can handle?
Correct, thanks for pointing out... 4 AWG up to 100A
Thanks for the teardown Tobi 👍
Thanks for watching! :)
Are the installs of the overlays specific to your screen or is it required for all screens? I have the raspberry pi screen v1.1 so I don't know if I need it or not. the resolution on mine is 800 x 480.
How do you get the top off it so cleanly, without mangling, or destroying it?
I'm usually using a Putty Knife and hammer to open up the housing. Worked so far :-)
Thanks for the video Tobi!
Thanks for watching! :-)
Very interesting. On the app screen there is a spot that says active balance on the bottom in the middle. Not sure what it does, but maybe you have choices to set it on there or see what it is doing.
@@jw3843 I tried clicking but no choice. It is on and at one point the active balancer was blinker. It was not immediately
Excelkent
Nice, surprised you got it to trigger with ice pack!
Was yours not like this? I was out for a bit wasn't able to get up to speed yet... :-)
@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobimine was the same as yours but couldn’t get low temp to trigger over several minutes with ice pack. Maybe your pack was a little colder than mine or they have changed BMS program? Consistent build otherwise which is good to see. Wish they would bump up the wire size. Enjoy your videos Tobi
@@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD Just watched it ;-) Thanks for sharing! Not sure if they still exist... just tried reaching out without success ;-)
@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobiAppreciate you checking out the video 👍 I did a quick look and you are probably right, looks like they may be out of biz? Hope this is not a trend with some of these brands. Keep up the good work my friend!
2 out of 6 came with 0.35 volts & would not take a charge also 4 to make 48 at bulk charging will not reach 54 happy spot
Oh great I’ll purchase it Thanks so much for the 411 !
Just a note for viewers : Jst connectors come in different variations with colors not the same as what is described here. Important to note is the two outside wires run straight, parallel which should actually be red and black. Meanwhile the two center wires which are the TX and RX criss-cross.
Very nice thanks!
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be simpler to describe it as the two outer wires run parallel or remain the same but the two inner wires criss--cross. done! GRD - GRD TXO -RXO RXO -TXO POS -POS
Thanks for the video. I just purchased 4 of these for really cheap. I wondered about the quality but it seems OK. I'm not worried about low temp because I live in California and it rarely gets below 32°. These will be in series and paralleled with a series set of Watt Cycle 100ah.
@@ww321 nice!! Enjoy the batteries!!
Dose anyone know what's happening with the GUI V2? Is there a plan for it to work on the RPi screen as at the moment from what I can tell it'll only work in a browser?
Thank you! I could not have installed setup helper without you. Putty did the trick! I spent days trying to get the PI 4 to work properly. Finally new SD cards came today and the old SD card was corrupt. Now I just need to figure out how to install devices. My monitor is in my living room and all my solar stuff is at the other end of my RV. VE cable will be very hard to reach. I originally thought it would work off of bluetooth but guess not. Any suggestions?
any support to get it working on rasberry pi 5
Hi, The last couple of updates i have done lost settings and apps like package manager, etc. Are there any tips on making updates more reliable? Also, how is it best to back it up before doing an update? Great videos they have made it so easy to setup my own Pi.
How about inbuilt BMS battery balancer? Someone said its 30mah only and proper one must be installed in it.
Is it possible to combine the bluetooth version with one without bluetooth e.g. in an 2P configuration? Would the app show the correct values?
Thanks for the video . Good to see they haven’t changed the batteries since I opened mine up. LiTime is consistent!
That's good to hear! Thanks for confirming!! 🙂
Thanks for this test! I just bought 8 of these for an upcoming battery storage solution. Looking to buy two 48V 3000VA Victron Multiplus II GX's. The batteries obviously can't communicate with the Victron through the CAN bus, but Victron themselves state on their website that it's not strictly required. DC House provide the Voltage to SOC mappings to be configured. The batteries are cheap now on Amazon. You can go even cheaper with a DIY battery, but for me that's an absolute no-go. I have no risk appetite for all the hassle I'm seeing people get into, with all the cell imbalances going on etc. These batteries to me seem to be the perfect option in a tight package.
Nice! That will be a great setup!
@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi For now I'm still digging into the documentation to figure out what my setup and wiring should be. Just found out it's probably better to buy two 'normal' Multiplus units and one external GX module. 😁
