Candy, Lady Oscar, and Heidi would’ve been big in United States if the shows were properly dubbed and aired. Saddened that Americans missed out on anime in the 70s/80s.

Kinda sad a lot of anime in the west, in the 80s suffered from the "direct to video" curse, Candy Candy deserved better.

I can only watch candy candy in Spanish this is so strange for me 😭
So fr that’s how I watch it and it’s sad to know that only the first episode they did it in English
Sounds wierd to me since I always heard it in Spanish since childhood and also they need more emotion tto the voice.
It is really interesting that just one episode was dubbed in English considering that the story takes place in the US an England.
The closest place that is in North America that Candy aired in was Quebec, Canada, is the closest place to the US. It's so stupid that the US or England never planned anything for this show, mostly and it's apparent considering the current day political reasoning. A lot of people can learn from this show.
@@MUZUKUN-YTit's more likely because anime wasn't very popular in the US and England at the time during the 80s, and what was released was edited into a direct to video movie instead of a full series. There was a fandom, but it was underground, and anime as a medium had yet to become mainstream.

No sería lo mismo... Cecilia Gispert y Andrés Turnes, que dieron voz a Candy y Anthony, al igual que varios más ya están retirados del doblaje. Y otros, ya fallecieron. Como la primera voz de Archie, la de Annie, y la de Stear.

I think they only dubbed like two episodes in English, the rest are only in other languages
It was from the columbia recording of Candy Candy which was released on LP. The full recording in this video originates from my channel.
