PREPSOIL (Preparing for the "Soil Deal for Europe" Mission) facilitates the deployment of "Soil Deal for Europe" mission across European regions, by helping key-players beyond agriculture field in reducing soil degradation, while increasing soil awareness and soil literacy.
Soil awareness and soil literacy is going to be a hot topic in the next decade. With an estimation of between 60 and 70% of unhealthy soils in European Union, PREPSOIL will increase networking and knowledge exchange between communities across Europe at regional/local level on soil health taking into account various type of land uses and based on the work undertaken in existing and new Living Labs and Light Houses.
That's why PREPSOIL is going to reach out to a wider audience: from universities to citizen scientists; from school students and teachers to soil monitoring agencies; up to society at large!

Smedegården Organic farming (Denmark)
Interview with organic farmer Leif Hougaard, who focuses on soil health on his farm. Leif Hougaard has more than 130 hectares, and here he explains how he has optimized the use of cover crops to ensure increased soil life and improved carbon stocks, e.g. by early swathing, and how to avoid soil compaction by avoiding heavy tractor operations in the fields in spring.

Gratulálok ehhez a videohoz, amely e szemlélet terjesztése, a jövő generációjának, hozzáállását, fejlesztését segíti elő! Ez a talaj réteg felső részének víz ellátását biztosítja, ami függ a csapadék ellátástól, de csak kisebb mértékben járul hozzá a víz megtartásához, aszályos időszakokban. Ahhoz, hogy elegendő csapadék hulljon, megfelelő mennyiségű fa, cserje szükséges, amelyek a mélyebben élő mikorrhizákkal szimbiozisban élnek, ,,megkötve", és keringésben tartva a vízet, a fák, cserjék párologtatási felületük folyamatosan nővekedik, átadva a légtérnek, hogy csapadék ellátás folyamatossá váljon. A Kárpát medencéből, ezt a vízmennyiséget a körülvevő hegyek (nagy részét) nem engedik ki, mert a vízgyűjtő területek felett kicsapódik, bármely irányból fúj a szél, visszafolyik a medencébe. A mélyebben élő mikorrhizák nagyobb méretű elterjedéséhez szükségesek a fasorok,- ligetek nélkülözhetetlenek.

hi - I am an Englishman who relocated to Kunszallas, just outside of Keschemet, along with my Hungarian partner. I have come across your work recently and we have approximalty 4 hectares of land. Along with a friend of ours, who is Hungarian and very well educated in agricultural methods we are interested to know how maybe we could help. Having arrived 3 years ago and renovated our Tanya, I also began to adopt our principles of regeneraton, and last season we obtained over 500 kilos of produce without chemicals, a significant reduction in water usuage and incorporated organic matter. It also saw a reduction in both pest and disease issues too as we were able to encourage wildlife. We would be happy to talk more on this subject if you would like, and you are welcome to see my content directly on our youtube channel. Kind regards, Simon
