Hope we see you back in 2025 buddy
Van sizes are confusing would a Transporter LWB, fall into the SWB price bracket, and a Crafter be LWB price rage? or would you still be able to charge LWB money for the transporter.... hope that makes sense
Thanks for vid its quite informative
Hi mate i joined cx 3 weeks ago bidded over 100 jobs only 2 jobs in lwb under 4 meters.any tips on bids ,paid 2,100 for app 4,800 insurnace and 9k van .the way its going doubt il recover anythimg any tips mate will appreciate it .
Don’t ask him. He’s out of business. Don’t expect a reply. Another youtuber giving it the biggun and then has no self respect to post a video to say it all went belly up. You made a few quid over Covid. After that it was all downhill. Hence the periodically occasional videos. Nobody wants to post saying they are on their arse and out of business. Personally I think it’s disgusting that you guys follow these mugs and fork out all of your money for them not to give a damn.
Waffling ! Don’t make videos useless
Useless video without numbers No use watching his videos
Done the same for amazon a few years back, tried to send me out with 350 parcels in city center for £140, got told to shove it up their hole. Though to be fair, they paid for training. I'm surprised you actually got the £200. Generally companies like this offer £200 then you read the small print and it's actually £120 with potential bonuses, which you can never get because amazon's DSP only hit bonuses I their customer doesn't complain and unfortunately amazon's customers are the worst 😅
£1 pm?? Assume that means plm ?That's mental. I started in 2001, (stopped in 2015 ), and I would charge £1 plm then. How do people survive on that ?
Great video as always Andy, I feel the issues nationwide not just Manchester or London. If about 30-40% of couriers stopped working there’s be enough for the rest to run a healthy company
You can get good prices working in and around london.
I don't understand how drivers can make a living around London where a 5 mile job can take you 2 hours!
Im liverpool based but drop in london 5.30am every tuesday morning. Usually do £150 - 200 between 6am - 9am staying in & around london. Struggle to get £150 back home to liverpool tho. @@whitevanman9569
It's no different in South Yorkshire....too many drivers, not enough work.
What van do you run with?
Uk wide issue, yes worse in cities - Seems to be a small van circus at the moment and lwb vans rarely get a sniff
It's not all rosy for small vans - remember we only see about a third of the jobs posted on the CX. Small Van drivers can't do XLWB work but XLWB drivers can do small van work.
Eco and cargo I blocked because no point to see full fead and can’t get jobs from them because £1.2 for luton curtain tailgate is to much 😂
In English?
Last week and today I quoted for luton curtain £1.2 no chance on Manchester
Very true i have been on here for 7 years running 7.5t to artics and i would say i get 50% of my work is shippers coming direct to me
Bigger Van more cost all the same, whatever Van you have. Generally half is always dead mileage. If we showed a business plan to some the business is not viable. This is just love of driving and profiteering the courier companies.
Brilliant video I've been on the cx about 2 years now and I was told by the salesman I would only average £1.20 per loaded mile for a lwb but it would work out double because I'd get a job paying the same coming back 😂😂😂 Absolute bullshite and has never happened. Road haulage association advised about 15 years ago that you can't realistically run a lwb transit for under £1.50 per mile. I've been doing this now for more than 20 years with my own customers and I can honestly say that prices seem lower now than I have ever known 😢 things were far better for drivers before the cx got so popular with shipper's. The cx has effectively managed to create a bidding war for a few measly scraps of work that's out there. Some of these shipper's have vans sitting there empty and drivers doing nothing but they stick the work on the cx to see if they can get the job done for peanuts which they usually can but if they can't because the quotes are too realistic then they just cancel the job on the cx and send one of their own vans. I only seem to make money on the smaller jobs say up to 80 miles going to areas where no one wants to go. I mainly just use the cx now for my hobby of fishing. If I fancy a day's fishing on the Wye then I only bid on jobs going that way and then the same when I want to come home. It helps finance my hobby but I don't know how anyone can make a sensible self employed wage from the cx all the best thanks for the video's
A miles driven system might work better and how many bookings you have had. At least this information will be automatically logged every time and shippers can see how active you are. Cuts away all the feedback prompts etc
Decent shipper’s will contact you directly if you do a good job. Build relationships with your local shippers.
If it goes to a price stated platform then not too many people will go to quiet areas for say £80 for 110 miles job which means then that quiet area won't have drivers in and the shippers will moan to CX there's not enough drivers . As bidding platform it's supply and demand , but shippers are definitely posting less work due to having "preferred" drivers. I have 4 shippers that ring me directly and then send me the job straight through on the CX
Hi, mate im actually working with a company on the CX so dont have my own account, I’ve been thinking of picking things up a little, would really appreciate if you could drop a gem on how to get in contact with shippers directly
CX feedback is useless. Negative feedback can be stripped by tit for tat so you may never know the actual truth about someone. Bidding or set price both flawed if shippers are only prepared to pay for you to ship the load and not take into account your hours/mileage for the full round trip home - there's never a guarantee of a backload. I haven't won a job on the CX in over 4 months as I only bid on a round trip basis.
They don’t care
I think a set price is a good idea. You know the minimum price you can do the job for if it suits you go fot it.
Good feedback & Trustd verification is totally ignored by most shippers the only thing that matters to them is the Bid & Maybe how close you are to meet the pickup time. As for feedback from shippers I think this is most likely down laziness it’s easier for them to just click the ignore box. There are good shippers out there that automatically leave feedback once the job has been completed & I as yourself always leave feedback once I have been paid. I think the customers if the Shippers could do more to help good drivers by requesting proof of insurances ID proof Vehicle Reg matches etc at the collection points before releasing goods rather than just giving goods to anyone who turns up in a van with the correct name of courier booked 🤔
I think feedback should be automatic. Only edited if negative or for more positive feedback
Andy where’s this clip on mic your promising us lol 😂 keep them coming ….
Cracking video mate keep them coming
Done the same.e last year Only 30 stops for £50.00 when got their 100 miles Sorry no way
You live and learn pal
Great vids as usual,,,Ask Father Christmas for a clip on mic Andy when driving 😂
You can bid on more jobs because you have the capacity to carry more, but do you find the loaded ppm was it worth the increase in your commercial risk and do you find you are doing all lwb jobs or do you still do fair % of mwb/small van. Knowing what you know now would you have still took the leap. I sold my lwb 2 years ago and went small. I’ve got slightly less stress and I can park up easier
Do you think profit wise it’s made a difference or the extra costs make it the same?
Some run retarders on this
Great video mate ❤
Its was £1400 then shot up to £1800
I swapped from a MWB to a small van last year. Im better off now when you consider the running costs, and actually earning more
1 guy I was talking to who was about to start, was making enquiries to install a retarder to save on brake wear although he was only running up to 3.5T
Trouble with cx is too many people are "going home"
Loving your videos .iv only been on Cx a few weeks and I must admit keeping local seems to be working better at the moment rather then going further a field .im in the south and i got to say most times iv been further away im caning the mileage on the van and paying more for diesel and most times running back empty.last week i done half tank of diesel and done 7 jobs home every night .yeah not loads of dolla but surely thats got to be better than Slugging it out up and down the country for peanuts .any way great videos mate and like you say its a learning curve.
Under a pound a mile for swb no way that’s just not worth it surely.

Try admiral, I pay £880 H/R Insurance. I do have 14 years no claims.
Many drivers will give up sion
Cheap that mine 4100 for this year cause got 3 more points 😢😮
I have had a good experience with BCD pal... Radius are half decent to from what i can gather. A while ago Neil posted a link for a Commercial price comparison site, i cant remember the exact one now but it will be in his back catalogue.
High Andy, Insurance quote sounds high. Are you with Business Choice Direct they give a discount for CX members ? I paid under £2000 all in with GIT and PLI last October. I had a LWB 66 plate Ducato 150.
