Is this Snowy River / Newgen 18f our perfect off road caravan?
We continue checking out potential new caravans for our adventures around Australia. This time we are walking through a Snowy River 18f Country Pack which I’m lead to believe is the same as a Newgen 18f just with different branding.
The 18ft is a single axle caravan with a ATM OF 2700. It has independent suspension with Pedders coil and dual shocks, and a DO35 tow hitch. It is rated and warrantied for full offroad use, according to the salesman at a dealership.
Inside it has an east west queen bed, 2 or 3 bunk option and a seperate toilet and shower.
It also has a full internal kitchen and internal dinette area for seating for 4 although it is a bit squishy for 4 to eat at once.
With ample storage inside and out and a rugged build, this seems like a great potential van for our family to do another lap of Australia in.

      Thanks mate. We are actually un decided if we want to go a bigger van for more space and comfort or stick to a smaller van to better manoeuvring and storage later on. I’m pretty sure the smaller van from last week will do us ok.

    I love the way the boys back mum up 👍👍mum doesn’t like it so that’s it dad 😂. It’s got a lot to like really the smaller bed could be a good thing, we’re always looking at increasing the local population 😂 and the sink right next to the bed would be handy for morning sickness 😂😂. Come on Esh do it for the country ❤️❤️. My bride isn’t a fan of pop tops either,which doesn’t bother me at all and the lower weight and more aerodynamic towing makes a lot of sense to me. But hey there’s no point in spending that much money if it’s not every thing ya want,you’ll only be going the would have could have dance later on. Hang in there brother it’ll all come together with time and patience and a little luck won’t hurt either. Stay strong 👁️👁️😎😇🐕‍🦺❤️🙏

    Hi neighbours……looking forward to following your travels. What happened to your old caravan ?

    • @AdventuringPals
      @AdventuringPals Місяць тому

      Hi Laura.I hope you guys are well. Thanks for finding us on here. Our old caravan was written of because it sustained some damage in the new years storms. That caused a water leak and eventually mould. The insurance company was worried that the mould might come back even after the repairs and so the write it off as the cost of repair was already close to half the value of the van.

      @@AdventuringPals well that’s better than the alternative of being in an accident so I’m very relieved. So looking forward to seeing all your videos and after I commented on the one I watched I found your first one when you first started this years trip. Your boys are so adorable…loved seeing them experience the dinosaurs. Safe travels and rest assured we will not only follow your adventures but make sure we keep any eye on your house and tenant’s from a very respectable distance. Look forward to the next upload 😊

      @@laurarodger3028 thanks Laura. We appreciate it. The boys are missing home. They want to play in the backyard again as where we are now in Hobart our backyard is very bushy with a healthy population of paddymelons. Great to watch but not much good for playing in. They get lots of visits to the local playgrounds to make up for it.

    Excellent mate, well done and informative 👌 We’re heading off with GSR with Rhinomax Renegade in tow, The Cape this year then doing The Lap again . Last time in a Hilux with a slide-on. Happy travels mate

      Thanks mate. Those Rhinomax looks like a tough bit of gear. How do you like it? We’ve also just hit the road again after a bit of a break. I actually traded the triton in for a ranger only to get more rear axle capacity but otherwise I would have loved to keep the triton. It was a great ute.

    Did you look at the 15.48.6 journey? We didn’t like how low the bunk was over the dinette.

    • @AdventuringPals
      @AdventuringPals Місяць тому

      No we haven’t looked at them yet. I don’t think they have an ensuite and that is a definite necessity for us. The top bunk in the 15.48-3 folds away enough to make the bottom area much more usable so I think it makes it quite versatile, but potentially a bit fiddly to switch between bunks setup and dining setup. We are still undecided and exploring other options too. But thanks for the suggestion. It is appreciated.

      Yeah saw these when they first came out. I do like it, especially with an internal cooktop and sink as extras. But the wife is really set on not getting another pop. And the price is very close to the 19ft StarCraft. But thanks for the recommendation. We do appreciate it.
