Glad your back out .nice flag
Simple and great 👍
Hi Leo, great to see you back out in the tent. Looked a decent spot to pitch. All the best mate.
Yeah was a nice spot and not a challenge to walk either 😅
I paid £60 for mine and I have no complaint's. It's a good piece of kit for the money and for someone just getting into camping.
I agree it’s a great starter tent for wild camping and finding your feet with
great review thanks for putting this up cheers m8 classssssssssssss
Get urselves to the isle of Arran out of season if u ain’t been. We did a week in March using Chris Sloan’s book and absolutely loved it.
It’s definitely on my list that place looks stunning
We did the week off grid and off sites. Really campervan friendly.
I have one except pegs good tent.
Great video. Admire you coming down that steep incline off Great Howe.Did this last Friday and the climb up was awfully slippy through the ferns. The bogs were not as horrendous as those that protect Hen Comb or the flat section between Hardknott Forest and Green Crag.
It’s a good time of year to do it right now, when it gets to the wetter seasons I’m sure it would be pretty horrendous 🤣 thanks for watching
Why do we spend money to live like a homeless person. Why do we watch said person also. We are a funny breed
🤣 we certainly are
The place is pronounced "massam" - as in Mas-ham. Yours, a Tyke. :-)
Frank is a badass :) Lovely video!!
He definitely is, Thanks for watching 👌
How did you attach the footprint to the tent? Did it still pack into the bag okay?
I attached with the bungee into the clips, and I use a dry bag to store the tent in, but I reckon it would still fit
I've had the previous version for ooh, 15 years and it's still serving well.
Glad you’re still getting use out of it that’s fairly impressive! Thanks for watching 👌
Great footage mate, and an amazing place in the word, peace.
Definitely a stunning place, I can’t wait to revisit
Do you ever like to get drunk or blaze a blunt in the tent?
🤣 that is a wild comment but yes I’ve been drunk before, and blunts aren’t my thing but I will occasionally light up a monte cristo
Glad your back in our local area
I’m here more than anyone knows 🤣, thanks for watching
@@LeoManAndMountain i want to try a camp up there soon before winter
@marklet4350 aye good spot for it
Took our Market Ale House Walkaholics group around this route yesterday from Chipping and up / down got its grumbles!!
Haha back to the sun inn for a pint?
@@LeoManAndMountain Indeed after some colourful language from some as we climbed and then head back down!
As you said in the video, you can get used to a way of living such as bad diet, no exercise, living life gluttonously and not care about your health. The exact same is true in the other direction, you can get used to a good diet, hiking and living life healthier and before you know it habits compound. Thanks for the inspiring video.
Thanks for watching, and you’re right, it’s about building good habits instead of bad habits
Yes it’s the heighest pass in Britain at over 2700ft what a a road !always wanted to cycle up there
I had no idea it was that high to be honest 🤣, certainly easier driving up than walking 😂
@@LeoManAndMountain I have been up great dun fell which is the same height near Appleby with amazing views on a clear day
Thanks buddy for sharing I'm up there September how did you get on with phone signal because I'm using it for Google maps to find the places 😀 any help much appreciated
To be fair I just used Apple Maps, there are some places where there is nothing but there aren’t many options in turns in the road. And I will be honest I’m very good at navigation so I didn’t heavily rely on maps. Good luck with your adventure!
Hi Leo. Fantastic mate, what a holiday you had and you were blessed with the weather. Thanks to you all for taking us along with you. All the best Dave
I stopped wild camping in winter and windy nights I just save it for summer autum now
Aye it is better camping but I haven’t been so lucky with timing this year 🤣
Mate Vango do make good tents it's not the best as the price is cheap ie the tent pegs and obviously the fibre glass poles other then that it does the job think personally you're going over the top with a criticism a little bit but that's just my opinion !!!!
Fake place 😭😭😭
Nevertheless still pretty cool
So is Stone henge the Cathedral?? 👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🤔🤔🤔
Excellent introduction to your trip!
Cheers and thanks for watching 👌
“I really believe that, as human beings, we have an innate need to explore, to see what’s around the corner.” 🚢🚲🚙
Great video! Visited the highlands and Outer Hebredes last year and it was amazing. Thanks again for sharing a wonderful video :)
Thanks for watching! It’s a beautiful part of the world that’s for sure 👌
Dont you guys face any issues with the floor material of then tent? Mine got quite sticky after a while and has prooven to let moisture through, on whatever is placed on the floor. I sold it for that reason again.
I can’t say I’ve had too much trouble with the floor although I am thinking about getting a groundsheet for it
Coastline is unreal up there 🏴
Yes it’s incredible and the fact you don’t need a plane to get there is even better 🤣
that’s nice brother. I did NC 500 and it was amazing route. May God bless your family
Hi mate, stunning, what an end to the day, that sky looked amazing right at the end.
Yeah definitely a beautiful part of the world, and surprisingly that weather skirted round us
Watching this mesmerised. Lovely video.
Appreciate that, thanks for watching 👌
Gutted!! I went that exact spot yesterday and got kicked off by a ranger.
It’s a shame really but unfortunately there are a lot of people that take the piss and leave rubbish everywhere, I normally try and keep remote or on the top of a hill these days 🤣 hope you managed to get a camp in regardless, another tip don’t set up until near sunset, you can make a big target on yourself getting set up early
"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer." 💰🚐👤
Great share, thanks. Will be doing this on Friday!
Enjoy! It’s a good walk and shouldn’t be too busy 👌
is the footprint a necessity you think?
I would say that from experience with tents that don’t have it, it (kind of) is, a footprint is good for preventing anything from puncturing the bottom of the tent as they are thicker than the inner tent floor and also provides some peace of mind when it comes to my air mat not getting a puncture either
@@LeoManAndMountain perfect thanks mate, good vid! Hoping to gwt one myself
@rhyseckley7655 I won’t let you down 👌
“I like to hike early; it’s the best way to summit up my day.” 🏔🥾🎒
Great video buddy thanks for sharing I'm up there September 😀 👍
Cheers, hope you have a great time, it’s absolutely stunning up there!
Nice review mate !
Thank you buddy 👌
We live here hope you enjoyed it 😅
Aye it’s a beautiful part of England, thanks for watching 👌
On my list for a wild camp is Alport Castles - as is just about everywhere in the Peak District! Must get up there. Nice video mate.
It’s a stunning place I must admit!
I’m new to wild camping even to camping in general having never pitched a tent on my own before. I had one practice run with this in very windy conditions it was simple to pitch. I’ve only wild camped twice so far can easily have the tent pitched in under ten minutes. It would only be a two man tent if sharing with my wife. I share mine with my large dog there’s plenty of room for rucksack my coat and bits and pieces. Other bits like boots I keep in the vestibules. The wild camps I’ve been on I only sleep in it it is very comfy I have to admit I wouldn’t want to spend a whole day awake in it. As for quality mine seems very well made with very smooth YKK zips. Headroom is ok just but I guess it’s a compromise as it is low and stealthy. I was considering various hooped bivouac bags but I needed the extra room for my dog he absolutely loves the tent tries to hog my Camfy P3 air mattress before I get in lol. Overall I really love this tent and for the money really think it is excellent it’s always going to be a compromise of some sort. I do agree with you about the inner door it keeps flapping down, call me stupid but I can’t seem to secure it back properly. I might just stick a couple of bits of Velcro on it. Interesting video I love to see other’s opinions of this tent cheers
I suppose everyone has different preferences and I know plenty of people who love theirs like yourself and it’s great that (hopefully) you’re enjoying Wildcamping, but these styles of tents don’t suit my needs (as someone who’s a bit on the larger side) I kind of knew that coming into this review so maybe there is a negative bias towards it but that’s thing with reviews, they can all be biased, I try not to be but I’m not perfect (just like the video 🤣) I hope you carry on enjoying the outdoors in whatever tent you like because at the end of the day the important part is getting out there and enjoying the outdoors, thanks for watching 👌
@@LeoManAndMountain cheers I'm 59 and definitely on the larger side too lol
Got to love a cheesy flapjack
I hope that’s a typo for cheeky, can’t say I’ve had a cheesy flapjack 🤣 thanks for watching 👌
Really enjoyed the vid Mate. Me and the Mrs are heading to Windermere this weekend so this is now added to the list ❤
Dude, snap! I have the same shirt 🤣 Great video, keep em coming 👍🏼
I do like how you test cheap tosh for the night 👍
I test it so you don’t have to 🤣
does the outer fly have loops in the middle to pull out the vestibule a bit?
Unfortunately not, there isn’t really any way to increase the size of the vestibule
@@LeoManAndMountain you could add a couple webbing loops and seam seal them on the inside. Might help. I'm as cheap as they come, so a little DIY goes a long way.
2 normal size people would fit fine in that tent. Yer a large dude (me too) average size man and woman would fit.
I don’t think they would it is VERY narrow and two small mats wouldn’t fit easily
@@LeoManAndMountain the average woman is pretty small and her mat would be smaller as well. At least, that would make the most sense.
@randyyeager to be fair if I was sharing a tent I would just use a different tent, that isn’t as restrictive like a dome tent 🤣
you keep saying "it's taped and seamed" All tents have seams. a seam is where the pieces of cloth are sewn together. Taped means the seam is covered with seam tape.
Seam sealer liquid goes on the stitched seam and then is taped over with seam tape
@@LeoManAndMountain I don't think most companies take the time to use the liquid.
Depending on the manufacture, and materials some use hot needles, thus sealing the hole as the needle exit it then seam tape it .
It's a summer tent. the top of the inner is mesh. You want it to unzip from the bottom to let cool air in and the top will vent out the heat.
To be honest I prefer unzipping at the top simply because of bugs etc
