O Grand Theft Auto (ou simplesmente GTA) marcou muito minha infância, especialmente a primeira versão, de 1997, no PlayStation original (PS1/PSX). Porém, algo em meio ao mapa riquíssimo desse jogo me chamava a atenção: "O que raios eram esses pedestres laranjinhas andando enfileirados pela cidade, cantando?" Pois bem, anos depois descubro que esses são os Hare Krishnas, (ou Gourangas, como preferir chamar). Você ganha um bônus por matá-los todos juntos em um hit só, seja atropelando todos juntos, ou atirando em todos de uma única vez. E, curiosamente, sua música é uma paródia composta dos cantos que os devotos de Hare Krishna, na vida real, costumavam apresentar nas ruas da cidade, além de também podermos ouvir seus tambores e sinos em reverência a seus deuses.

But something amid the rich map of the game caught my attention: "What the hell were these orange pedestrians walking around the city, singing?" Well, years later I discover that these are the Hare Krishnas, (or Gauranga, as you prefer to call it). You get a bonus by killing them all together in one hit, either by running them all down, or by shooting them all at once. And curiously, their music is a parody composed of the chants that the devotees of Hare Krishna, in real life, used to present in the streets of the city, besides we can also hear their drums and bells in reverence to their God.
