I was also somewhat jarred by TB's attitude when I watched this. My only explanation is she's really good at the tsundere act, which includes pretending to not care/be affected. I've seen in a different reaction video's comment section she may have also seen this type of scene play out so much in the tunnels and maybe elsewhere where she saw girls helplessly die that she just got used to not being able to help people survive, hence how nonchalant she is. She does make an attempt to call the ambulance, and we can see last ep even though she's basically a powerless doll who can only passively control luck she still cared about Momo and Okarun as she tried to confront Acro Silky.

Yeah others have said it, but dandadan is surprisingly deep. It's like a moving, living thing. The entire story is excellent with character design and development. It mixes in real life Yokai lore and Japanese mythology/urban legends and gives them character, backstory and life. Akuserasera is a Japanese ghost rumored to wear red with long black silky hair, who falls off of buildings and dances around. It is said if you see her, you will experience tragedy. The mangaka took that urban legend and expanded upon it. And the anime just adapted it perfectly. Aira happened to be able to see spirits. Japanese believe that young children are especially sensitive to the paranormal, and as they grow they lose the ability. Okaruns Ball made Aira awaken her dormant power. Excellent direction. Excellent animation, musical score, voice acting....everything is perfect. I've never been so enraptured by an anime episode. And the sad thing is....Aira's story isn't even the saddest one. There is more pain to come. And as we saw this backstory, we can confidently await the next sob-fest to exceed expectations. God damn, Science Saru. I am obsessed ❤ Good reaction, thoughtful analysis. I just know the series will grow and become even better. Be prepared !

My opinion on turbo granny is that she has a personal trauma with SA so she consoles spirits who met a similar fate and preys on mens weenies in particular for that reason, but she is still herself an evil vindictive spirit and doesn’t really care about other people beyond that. Basically she went out of her way to protect Momo from the aliens, but she had no qualms about terrorizing and killing Momo after that. Also, turbo granny does not get the same backstory beamed into her head like Momo did. Though turbo granny definitely gets more character development as the manga goes on. Also some extra context that was more explicit in the manga: Silky died by suicide, her ballet scene is her final dance on a rain covered rooftop that ends with her leaping off the edge to her death. And it is implied heavily that the daughter died very soon after, as the manga shows them reuniting and walking into the light together, hopefully to a kinder world.

Now you've seen Dandadan at its best in terms of comedy, tragedy, action, and romance. And the story is constantly switching between these four modes with amazing execution. For me, that's what sets it apart from most other stories.

Interesting information: The puppets that we see at the start at the episode were actually made by Isha (the little girl) and not Jinx. Along with the simple clothes in the intro, no one has their tattoos as well including Vi, Jinx and Mel. Janna, the person Jinx is talking about is actually the Goddess of Wing in League lore. People in Shurima (another place in the same continent as Zaun) and Zaun pray to her because if you remember the start of this episode, there used to be toxic factory smog (the Grey) everywhere. It was hard for people of the underground to breathe. It is told that the goddess of wind actually helped them clear the air to make them able to breathe. She helped them. Therefore, the people of Zaun pray to her. This fight that Jinx and Vi are having, is in the temple of Janna. You can see her statue there. The temple is deep in the underground. Even the song that plays during this fight scene is a nod to her and when it says [choir sings], it is actually a Shurimian prayer chant to Janna. So, this whole scene was dedicated to her. My theory is that the little kid might be some mortal form of Janna but I'm not too sure. Vi could for sure move the kid but you can see how she looks at Jinx in that moment and realizes she is the random enforcer to the kid just like how enforcers killed her parents when she was a child. She sees Jinx as a human and sees Powder in both the kid and in Jinx. Even before, Vi and Jinx were not even fighting properly, just cat fighting with each other as sisters. I don't think that deep in their heart they wanted to kill each other at all. They are sisters after all, you can't just kill your only family member left like that especially is you had a very strong bond with them. The Black Rose is a very powerful faction in Noxus consisting of witches and the only with you would need to learn about at the moment would be LeBlanc. Also, I love how you get most of your theories right and understand things so well. Really love your channel even though I just found it. Don't worry about being less energetic at the end of the video and it is okay and you still got most things right :)

Do you know that Ekko and Jayce have actually already met before? In S1 E1, Ekko tells Claggor about the man who bought stuff at Benzo's shop and Ekko charged him double prize. Also Ekko followed Jayce to the workkshop and that is how Vi knew where to go. Also, Smeech and his men were following Jinx since earlier and they are the ones who tipped the strike team off to where Jinx is. That is why Cait was so angry because she was sure that they would find Jinx here. Smeech probably made the deal with the strike team when they first found Smeech and his men in Margot's lair. That is why Smeech was so insisted in handing over Jinx.

Renni was in charge of the Shimmer production in the undercity. All shimmer stuff was under her just like each Chembaron has their own industries they take care of like Margot runs the brothels and Smeech was in charge of mechanical body parts and things like that.All of the Chembarons were kinda under Silco so he was in charge of all of it. So, the attack in this episode was orchestrated by Renni alone and no one else. All those shimmered-up robot people were under her. Also, you should see the "Blood Sweat and Tears" music video. It will give you more answers about Mel's powers and Ambessa in her youth.

I'm impressed that you remember that brief mention of Lt Yoki. Most reactors forget him immediately! He's in an early manga chapter, but for the anime they just summed it up.

The video is a couple of months old, so you may have already learned this, but you're right: This episode is where the manga begins (I'm pretty sure the first anime does too). So it feels like an introduction because it was written as one.

Armstrong is one of my favorite characters in this anime, he only gets better with time! But frankly there's literally So Many amazing, likable characters in this anime

One of my favorite things about this show is that it does answer every question and wrap up every thread by the end. And it's not afraid of moral complexity, in either its characters or themes. Makes it endlessly rewatchable, because you'll notice things on a 2nd and 3rd watch that you didn't pick up on, previously!

My question is why do they care if people know they're related to Ai now? For Aqua it made sense to hide it as he was hunting for his dad, and assuming he is dead (it felt too fast and easy for me to buy), why would he care now? For Ruby, why would it have mattered after Ai's death? I get not wanting to be known for that and only that but now...? I must be missing something. One thing I hadn't thought about is Ruby's parents. It'd be so weird to see them or not to go see them. Either way that would be so challenging.

Ep 3 repeats some stuff already introduced before because it was meant to be the starting point of the series. They they decided to start fmab with the addition of the Freeze alchemist (which doesn't exist in fhe manga) and moved Reole to episode 3, but it has still got its "first episode" vibes. Or maybe years ago you watched a little of FMA2003, which starts with Reole, like the manga?

Ep 3 was about abusing religion, ep 4 is about abusing science. And believe is or not, the counterpart of fhis episode in 2003 (ep 7, the night of the chinera's cry, is even more traimatic for Edward). And you made some good assumptions at the beginning of the video, like Alphonse being the nicest guy, or Edward learning the ability to perform clapping transmutations with the knowledge he got when he's seen Truth (which Al doesn't remember)... You will later know how their teacher learned that ability instead.

You are right that alchemists can specialize in certain areas by studying them, but theoretically they are not bound to a certain area. Kimblee didn't kill the officers for the same reasons of Isaac, that's why he wasn't interested into joining him and so he wasn't freed now. And yes, you need different symbols to do different things, although some symbols are a bit generic so the same symbol may allow to build a square wall or spike: maybe the series doesn't mention it too clearly, but the alchemist also infuses his own *will* to guide the reaction. About that guy's face, you'll need a bit of patience before seeing him and a lot of patience before getting his complete backstory. Don't worry, just enjoy the show! :)

Here Ed is 15 an Al is 14. In the flashback they were 11 and 10 iirc. The girl in the op/ending is called Winry and his their childhood friend.

Don't forget to check the list of fmab episodes which have post-credit scenes or custum visuals during the end credits, some of them are quite important!

About Mustang's alchemy: the gloves have drawn an alchemic circle (only a few alchemists can perform "clapping alchemy" like Edward... the others have to draw a circle, so having it already drawn on their clothes or on a tatoo allows them to make their usual transmutations very quickly) which changes the percentage of oxygen in the air, allowing to control and aim the fire, and are made of a special tissue which makes sparks, allowing to actually start the fire... Unless they are wet. I think this episode is the only one we see an entire case full of spare gloves. I guess they did it for comedy. Mustang's power switches back and forth from being very cool and OP to sometimes comically ineffective through the series.

For FMAB both sub and dub are very good. Many people prefer the dub. You might want to try it too and decide. In real world, alchemy was a precursor of science, which sort of mixed chemistry and philosophy. Once you will have finished the series, you may look for the "real alchemist analyzes fullmetal alchemist" video series (I don't remember the exact title) on UA-cam, if you are interested.
