I loved when you said that Jiji being too cheerful could be a front or like a defense mechanism. Cuz even when he was introduced and Seiko was saying his parents got into some accident we didn't really see Jiji showing sadness, I didn't really thought much of it and just took him as goofy or unserious character. But after hearing you say that I just realized you might be right it was defense mechanism. This was fun. Hope we get season 2 soon and by then I hope your channel grows fast too. I think the anatomy dummies are a thing that’s like such an obvious and common reference to something supernatural in Japanese pop culture/occult that it’s not even worth explaining. I’ve seen a few people saying there’s a superstition about school models coming alive at night. That scene in the hot spring is the scene that made me the most viscerally uncomfortable in the entire manga. I was really hoping they’d wrap that up completely in this ep and just deal with what comes after in cour 2 but I guess not. Next cour is gonna be a banger. The upcoming arc has some of my favorite moments for all four of the main crew

Roy's team has actually been seen before, in the beginning of episode 4, but I don't think all their names were mentioned then. As for Al going off to some weird strangers because they threw a note at him: he's trying to get his lost memories back, so anyone claiming to know his secret might be worth talking to. (In the manga Ed is out of town for his yearly assessment at this point, which explains why Al didn't tell him where he was going, but the show skipped over that.)

The choice to give Queen Sensei a whip is wild. She did NOT have that in the manga lmao it was just a club. What I love about Aira’s story is that yea she talks about how popular she is and her character is full of typical popular anime girl stereotypes but she’s really just as much of a weirdo as Okarun and Momo are and so she ends up joining their group instead of sticking with her classmates who apparently didn’t care enough to follow her like how Momo pointed out. None of them really end up following the character tropes they are initially presented as

You remember correctly, Trisha died of an illness. Ed blames his dad because he thinks she'd have survived if she hadn't been abandoned. Izumi and Sig just like to travel, that's why they were in Central recently, where they happened to meet Hohenheim. In the manga Izumi secretly had an employee on the island to make sure the boys didn't die, and also provide regular combat training by pretending to want to kill them. Both versions are pretty wild, but in different ways.

Man, this episode for me has so many gaps that were left blank, which gives a feeling of rush with this last episode. Most likely Ekko and Jinx talked about the Alternate Universe that Ekko was in and Ekko tells her that there is indeed a good version of her. When they arrive at the war, Ekko and Jinx have paintings made by each other on their clothes, we can see Ekko's "infinity" symbol on Jinx's arm and also on the airship's propellers. In the same way, we can see Jinx's paintings and colors on Ekko's clothes. Showing that after Ekko saved Jinx, they talked and ended up taking some time to prepare for this war, who knows what could have happened in this conversation? Another point is that Jinx's Minigun had broken in a older fight against Vi, and now she comes back with another one that looks a lot like the Hoverboard that Ekko uses, they probably built it together before. I really wanted to know what happened in that conversation that was cut from the final edit.

And at 11:18 - There are drawings of Ekko's face in Powder's diary. 10:24 - When they get to Powder's place, there are several paintings of her, probably done by Ekko. 14:00 - Ekko can't take his eyes off Powder, like you said, he always looks at her (and she's mad at him for what he said about Vi's death). 10:30 - Top right (you can't see it in the UA-cam cut) There's a note that says "I love you," most likely a gift from Ekko to Powder. 22:49 - (a little earlier) Powder puts her hands in her pocket and finds the gift Ekko put there, this amulet that spins (and has both of their faces on it) 25:05 - A little before Ekko disappears, it seems like he tries to "reach" Powder, as if he doesn't want to abandon her, or am I tripping? Sorry for the huge text, but I've watched this episode about 3 times and I always see something new. And man, this episode hurts even more when you know Ekko's ending alone.

I can see the connection, at least on the immediate surface, to Sonny Boy. I'm a huge fan of, for the lack of a better word, "weird shit" in stories, the unusual, the anomalous, blah blah. Absolutely different feelings between Dandadan and Sonny Boy, but that air of "what the hell is going on" is a huge draw. I'm pretty late to the anime fandom, age-wise, but that desire for that kinda weird ain't lacking in anime. I think Western media is just recently opening up to weirdness in the mainstream. I actually think a good analog to Dandadan for a Western TV show would be Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (totally different than the book, but it absolutely works for what it is). Only got 2 seasons, but it has that same bonkers feel to the whole thing. It's late, I type too much when tired, I'ma shut up before this becomes a damn thesis. Killing Victor might have made Vander weaker but the Lava and this intense of a rage was instigated because Singed put the serum he was talking about in him. You can see Singed standing inside the greenhouse when everything is going down. He injected Warwick with the serum he was supposed to.
