Hey @darkknightlight I use Kleensweep Red Heavy Duty. I've tried probably every other kind, and Kleensweep Red is consistently the best by a mile. Doesn't dry out for a very long time, and traps way more dust than any other brand so you can use the same line of sweep for a longer period of time and cover more ground which saves you money in the long run since you're not burning through a bunch of product or time having to lay a new line as often.

What are some channels that narrate their videos? The only restoration channels I've watched are either silent, or have music in the background. I'm not opposed to narrating them, but I'd like to see some others that do it well so I can get a feel for their style. When to talk, when not to talk, etc... Thanks for watching. @@cleanrestorations I watch channels where they repair machines or electronics of various types. The charismatic owner gives a running commentary, as the video progresses, However, even they would have a difficult task of making an interesting video of cleaning an old axe. The names of a few of these channels would be "The Post Apocalyptic Inventor", "Mustie1", "Marty T", "Adrian's Digital Basement ][", Adrian's Digital Basement ][", "Mr Carlson's Lab", to name just a handful. However, I do appreciate that all these are well established channels. Where the uploader has a lot experience in the tasks they complete.

@@cleanrestorations There's no need to make a video just for me. That wouldn't work. Your objective should be to make a video, that appeals to as many people as possible. Interestingly, there are channels where the uploader gets a lot of views, even though they're not providing any voice-over guiding you on what they're doing. This tends to be the ones, where the provider does not speak English. They could use a robot voice, but then it sounds fake. Personally, I find silent videos boring. Partly, this is because you have to keep your eyes fixed on the screen to follow what's going on. This stops you doing something else at the same time. I'm often repairing something myself, whilst I watch the video. Some content providers have the ability to make you want to keep watching their content. As they say, first impressions last. The viewer soon decides whether they want to invest their time in watching your uploads, or they don't. You either have it, or you don't. Personally, I don't. Maybe, you do? That's up to you to find out.

I thought about your input last night, and I genuinely liked where it was taking me. It would be nice to at least hop onto a voiceover and thank people for watching, ask them if there's anything specific they'd like to see restored by a small channel that reads all of their comments that maybe a bigger channel would skim over. It'd be cool to engage with the viewers more. Maybe I couldn't fill the whole video with commentary on what I was doing because the bulk of what I do is just basically hand-sanding, but I could make some general comments on the history of the items, how they ended up in my hands, how long the sanding process took (sometimes it's 5 or 6 hours) or even just let people in on steps I screwed up, injured myself, etc... it's an interesting idea, and I'm grateful for your advice. Some people just click off of the video without an explanation. You let me know what you didn't like about it, and I can actually work with that so I am genuinely appreciative of that, and will play around with your idea. Maybe find a balance between my style, and a style closer to what you find more entertaining.

Hey Bernadette, on the video that's linked to this I have a list of the products I used in the description. I used Scotch Brite green scouring pads, Stix toilet bowl cleaner by Betco, razor blades and metal scouring screens. I would only use the metal scouring screens if you're specifically using Stix, or a product of a very similar consistency. It helps break down the mineral deposits, but also acts as a slick buffer between the metal scouring pads and the porcelain and helps to minimize the risk of damaging the toilet.

Well done! The twisters in this video are the original prototype for Milbar. They were produced and sold before the patent had even been through the whole patent process. On the top of these there is a stamp engraving that says "Milbar twisters Patent applied for"

It resembles a flag. Old Glory is the nickname of the U.S flag

Hey Sean, great question! To be honest, it was just the easiest place to set up to film. I wasn't planning on grinding and sanding and going so far in depth with it. I was originally just going to hit the rust with a wire brush and some vinegar, but things snowballed.

@brianseaders I'm doing most of this as a way to pass time and relax. It's not so much about needing the file for it's intended use anymore, it's just about enjoying the process of bringing the life and shine back into an old beat up tool. More of a hobby than anything. I won't use most of these tools anymore. Some of them I end up customizing wooden handles on, or bluing the steel. I'm going to turn an old rusted out wheel barrel into a restored center piece for a water fountain soon. Thank you for taking the time to watch! God bless.

Hey Damien, I do window washing, debris removal and construction cleanup as my main source of income. In my personal projects I'll do concrete work, decking, masonry, tree removal, you name is. As a window washer you get into some sketchy areas. Roof work, walking on awnings, and you're exposed to every element possible. Extreme heat, ice, and everything in between. My last pair of Marins were the 6inch unlined, soft toe, and they actually held up really well. As good as much more expensive boots. All that wore out was the toe after a year. I'm glad I made the switch to the comp/ brunt toe. I've had this current pair shown in the video for a couple of months now, and no signs of them breaking down or stitching coming out yet. They look bulky out of the box, but once they're broken in, and the laces are tied tightly to your foot they narrow out a bit. These are definitely going to serve me well in winter because they're a lot warmer than the unlined version I previously had. But they're also not so hot that they're unbearable in warmer weather. I'll always recommend this brand to anyone doing manual labor. Good price, and the company genuinely cares about quality.

Hey @JWC777, yes, I always sweep with sweeping compound before machine scrubbing, or hand scrubbing any floor. It makes the whole process go much smoother.

Hey, thanks for asking! It's called sweeping compound. It's an oily powder that traps dust inside of it so that the dust doesnt go into the air, and then settle back onto the floor.

@@cleanrestorationsman. My supervisor still hadn’t ordered more. I could use it cause our floors are dirty dirty so dirty that the dust kicks up and settles back down, and it’s a pain to clean and go back and repeat.
