Where is this
@@michaelgilbert7973 Silver Dollar City at Branson, MO
First open the trunk and take out the spare. Remember not to exceed 55 mph.
Bingo!
Put a plug in it
@@jamesmizell4117 haha now that is a better idea!
The Obamination wanted to destroy the coal industry. Didn't the fool realize that coal is essential in the manufacture of steel!
He supposedly supported unions then declared war on coal and took away a lot of their jobs
the sistem weel sliip no is good??? what happe thi is locomotive is new.
It was built about 10 years ago.
Where do they have Concrete ties? I’ve only seen wooden ones in the US.
@@nikd3569 there are a couple locations in Iowa that I have seen them. Albia and Burlington have a couple miles worth.
Concrete ties are in use all over the US on selected mainlines. The UP (ex MP) Austin Subdivision down the middle of the MoPac Freeway to Ladybird Lake in Austin, TX is laid with concrete ties, for example. The same for the Navasota Sub through downtown Bryan, TX uses some in the downtown area (next to where the station used to be) where routine replacement of wood ties would be difficult.
@@whiteknightcat It’s rare to find them in Ohio, and West Virginia maybe there are more concrete ties in western United States.
Ok, fess up. Did you let the air out of that wheel, just so you could get YT numbers? This is a real interesting process... almost easy!
@@dennisk5818 I tried to let the air out, but couldnt find the valve stem.
Changing a tire on a train is alot like changing a tire on your car truck bus and airplane but it’s a different tire change because it doesn’t have steering wheel like boats spaceships airplanes Cars buses trucks bikes motorcycles and fire trucks do.
Locomotive *
It`s still good, It`s only flat on the bottom. 😂
I slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night, I think I could do it. LOL 🤣🤣🤣
Good thing the train engines have steel wheels if that was a regular tire like on tractor-trailers that would been a blowout n the tire would have been annihilated n would have all kinds of problems then
Train engines………The locomotive has an engine…..it becomes a train when coupled with cars of various descript…..
I saw the nail in the flat tire. It's tubeless, so just put a plug in it ;-)
Didn't know trains get flat tires.
@@nathanmeece9794 yep just a little different than a vehicle.
@@nathanmeece9794 It’s not referred to as a flat tire in the Railroad Industry. They are referred to as flat spots on wheels. It happens when the wheel is sliding on the rail. That happens because the brakes are applied too tight to allow the wheels to keep rolling.
It can happen on freight cars; and it is especially noticeable when an empty coal hopper car has a flat spot on a wheel from the brakes sticking, for instance, there will be a "thoom thoom thoom thoom thoom ..." as the car goes by.
Those wheels are solid and do not have tires like the wheels on most steam locomotives. The max allowable flat spot is 2 ( two ) inches. That wheel would be condemned and a new one pressed on to the axle. It could be recycled to make a new wheel.
AAA for the Railroad, great job boys.
In Rupert, Idaho there was an engine rebuild being done, and the engine was moved out of the shop, half disassembled. Reminded me of teenage years, doing such work outdoors. "Let's throw a cam in it!"
I know this is a “how to” video but after watching, I still don’t feel like I could do it.
@@eliterry3785 I bet you could. 😃
Well hell . I can't afford the crane . I'll see what they got at Harbor Freight. Maybe a 3 ton floor jack will do it . And a little longer handle .
@@BobSullivan-f4m yep!
Easy Peazy 😂
That pulley is a big leverage multiplier.
Whoa, that looks like a big flat spot.

Looks like mine right now
I am getting some parts rounded up right now and hope to get it running before too much longer.
@@Weshole5W That’s awesome! I just started on mine literally days ago…..it’s on my channel if you feel like checking it out
It's so surreal seeing an old steam engine right next to a modern infrastructure of today!
Yea it is pretty crazy!
Cool catch.
Thank you! If you look through my shorts videos I have one I caught Amtrak last winter flying by when the snow was really deep. That one was fun.
Great video.
That has such a beautiful whistle on it. I wish I could’ve been there in person.
I loved every minute of it!
If you havent already, check out the other video when I caught up with it at Ottumwa, IA
Smooth
Super video :)
Just bought a 62 love the bullet nose birds!
Nice video, Like🤩😍😁
Thank you!
i have a 63 its drives amazing the best from holland
I hope your daughter will appreciate the car, they are well built and ride wonderful! The Birds nest in Portland Or has new reproduction dash tops for the '61 -'63 Tbirds. You also may want to look into a front disk conversion, I don't know if the '65 -66 spindles and calipers would work or not. God bless.
I believe she definitely will appreciate it. She is an old soul in a young body and I love it. Thanks for the heads up on locating parts. Much appreciated as it can be a challenge for some of them.
No wrapping
Put them in the pans and cover with foil is what I meant by wrapping them. I used to wrap each rack of ribs, but found I could get the same results using pans.
What kit is recommended to rebuild the hydrlic cylinders?
I found mine on Ebay. Search "lift and tilt cylinder seal kit Owatonna 330". They are $30-35. The lift and tilt cylinders take the same kit.
Cool, thanks. I bought this a few years ago, and I blew a hydrilic line. After that, it sat until I was able to haul it from N.E.Iowa to Kansas City. I still don't know why it keeps blowing hoses. Isn't there a pressure control thst prevents over pressuring hydrolic lines?
@@mikebrunning I dont think there is a pressure regulator. I blew a hose several years ago and been ok since. I also had a crack pop open on the hyd filter. It had not been changed in years.
What hydrolic Filters do you use?
@@mikebrunning I am pretty sure I got them from a local car parts store. I got the part number off the filters on the machine and I'm pretty sure you can look them up online and find which ones they will cross reference with
What's the best hydrolic fluid you use in the hydrolic system
I use ISO 32 I believe it is. Works great. You can use ATF in these but it costs too much nowadays
Thanks. Do you know how many gallons it needs. This is empty.
@@mikebrunning should be at least 5 gallon. When it is down to the very end of the dipstick it takes 2 gallon to hit the full mark
Number one, thanks for your patience. I bought my OMC 330 from my mother. It was left by her husband after he passed. I mainly bought it because I knew she needed money and never used it. It needs a lot of work. First, it has blown a hydrolic hose, I got the Kohler Command 20 motor to run after redoing the wiring and rebuilding the carborator. Now, i am attempting to rebuild the hydrolic cylinders. have watched several youtube videos on how two, but these cylinders seem to be different. Is there a trick to it? I got the spaner nut off, but it seems there is another step to take to get the piston out. Both hydrolic cylinders are off the loader and on a bench.
@@mikebrunning with the spanner nut off the piston should slide out. Make sure the hyd line ports are open. If you have plugs in them the vacuum will not let it come out. I am glad to help any way I can.
We used to throw our garbage bags into the empty cars as they crossed the bridge
I have seen furniture thrown in them. Not sure how they pulled that off
FE series engines love to stick valves, and sometimes rocker arms, so definitely remove the rocker shafts an she'll probably unstuck nicely, then lube the crap out of the valve stems, and disassemble and clean rocker shafts, then once all the valves are working, reassemble everything and she'll be fiiiiiiiiiiine😅
Thanks for the info. I will def check that out while it is apart

FIRST COMMENT!
Well how is it coming along?
I have part of another video recorded of the progress on it but winter rolled in here with sub-zero temperatures and 2 ft of snow unfortunately my shop is not heated yet so I stopped for a bit.I will be back on that project soon.
