She gifted me that chair. 😊
I always enjoy your episodes! Today I am sitting on my porch reading Part 2 of the book. Sometimes I would stop reading to think or to watch the birds, and occasionally I would see a chore-the flower beds need more dirt, a tree branch needs to be trimmed, etc.-but I stopped myself from wrapping up my porch time to take care of the chores. Today I stay on the porch! 😃. Thank you again for your podcast. I love the way it feels both light-hearted and friendly, but I always see Jesus in meaningful ways, too. H. S.
`Rushing` is good.... in small doses. The `sickness' is the warning that we are `rushing` too much.
Btw - I love my electric can opener (much safer). Also food processor and blender., haha. Peace!
It’s another one of the things I remind myself throughout the day. Slow down and decide what I should be mindful of in each task. It only took 50 years but I drive exactly the speed limit + or - 10%, get out of drivers way and come to full stop. Main reason, I get there in same time and zero stress. Again it took 50 years to figure it out. Quick Serenity Prayer- “God grant my the Serenity to accept the things I can not change, the Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference.” Lastly people pleasing is a huge waste of Serenity but I don’t go out of my way to offend. I’ll show deference. Being nice to people increases my Serenity. Smile at the checkout clerk.
Good thing to discuss. Thank you. Turning off my phone for worship on Sunday has become my only point of separation with my electronic devises.
Travel iron and portable ironing board. Of course. Duh! 😃
Only the ESSENTIALS!
Well done my friend!
Outburst: Yep. I have traveled with a travel iron!
My favorite book in the last three years. Go through it twice a year. Great work at the Pigtail 100!
It seems the more I pray and think about other’s the better the “unintended consequences” happen. For example, your mentioning Dana made my day. She’s one of my favorites and always in heavy rotation for myself. She and Gordon always “didn’t want to be a bother” to others. She was like an Angel to my mother and myself. My prayer priority currently is for strength to be present and available. As far as timing, first thing in morning before I get out of bed and last thing before going to sleep, short ones. Also taking a moment to smile or make small talk with random people I come across like the checkout clerk or the Starbucks person. Or taking a shopping cart back. Keep up the great work and God bless!
Hey Brenda and Adam- good to know you better. I’m late catching up on the podcast. Great conversation. Btw Adam, I’m also an engineer (mechanical). See you at St. Luke’s.
As an ancient person I enjoy watching and listening to Ben play piano. Turns out Minecraft has some amazing music. So I learned a lot. However my gaming experience goes back to a primitive game called “Dune” 😅. Probably recorded in the annals of history somewhere. Look it up, haha. Fun podcast. Good work you all.
Thank you so much for having me!
Thanks for being on the show!
"promosm"
I did in fact tune into this episode
Now you've truly learned who the real Ben Neumann is...
Hello. I am a volunteer apprentice trainer working with the pups. It was so nice to hear your stories of Issac and the anticipation of an expecting church. I will keep you all in my prayers. I have kept in touch with the 5 dogs I have trained and their church teams. I am like a proud papa seeing his kids making a difference in the world. God bless🐾💟💕💛💞💖💗🐾
That is incredible to hear! Thank you for tuning in, sharing your connection, and for your prayers!
Do you need to be a St. Luke's Member?
Shore Lane was most definitely THE headliner!!! Thank you, Shane & Lauren for such a FUN party!!!
Thank YOU guys for inviting us and enjoying the music!! It was such a memorable time!
Pigtail Challenge 100 miler! Let's Go! I will match that my friend with a Mines of Spain 100 miler in October this year. Keep running!
You guys are truly inspiring! Hope you post some videos of that adventure. Looking forward to seeing how that goes!
Greetings from Coeur d’Alene! I listened to this episode while lounging in the hot tub! 😊. It’s always fun to be a part of your conversations! At the Solsvik house we always paid $7.00 to the Bureau of Land Management to go up the Fernan Saddle to cut our Christmas tree. With two rambunctious kittens in the house this year, I bought a 4 foot artificial tree, which will remain ornament-free because it would never survive the kitten attacks! 😂. Merry Christmas to you! LoveLoveLove your podcast!
Merry (late) Christmas to you too, and Happy Easter! Thank for tuning in and sharing your story! Hope your tree survived this Christmas, haha.
I promise, NO Christmas Vacation while I am hanging out with the kids. 😊
Super excited to see Cinderella! My Fair Lady was my parents favorite I remember it well from childhood. Bravo 👏!
Such an iconic story and show! Thanks Jim!
And whatnot…. And Heather goes a little salty. Great hilarious video.
Great story, put release date on my calendar. Had to listen to whole podcast to hear if Shane ended up doing the busker part. Yeah, sure enough, good choice, way to step up Shane! Saw you in Music Man and you were great. What a nice next step in growth. Sounds like a very professional production. Seattle has several beautiful older churches. So glad you got such fast go ahead and were able to work out details. Will be looking for the drone shots, B roll stuff and cover shot after listening to this discussion. Exciting stuff. St. Luke’s is in the big leagues now. God bless!😮
Loved the comments about the random people being called out. I have never thought of that. 😊
John Wayne was 6’4”! Cute game. 1988 wow. Your pronunciation of the Zodiac signs? Well let’s just say Neil Degraf Tyson the Astrophysicist would be making a frowny face 😕 Really liked the weapons you don’t shot.
Glad you enjoyed it! Who had worse pronunciation, Dan or Shane?
Dave and / or Tim put that shelf up. It can handle all the bibles you can fit.
Hahaha, glad we can trust it!
64 years?
64 years...
Congrats on the 1/2 marathon! Money down and scary? Sounds like "Circle the Hood". :) Definitely post race duldrums for that one and other ultras that I end up doing. It's always a "now what?". Peak Challenge is like that every summer. - Run the Race - 1 Cor 9:24-27.
Donna, I am drawing a circle around St. Luke's right now. I love your story!!
I still have my dolls as well. 😊
I met Donna at Winco for the first time when Doug Pariseau and I went there to buy some groceries. From the moment I met Donna I knew she was a kindred spirit and God had truly blessed my day meeting her. She is so filled with love and joy lifting your spirits in a heart beat… She is my sister in Christ. Peggy Pariseau( Doug Pariseau’s Mom)
But wait.... have you by chance heard of the most famous green nosed reindeer of all? Gary! ua-cam.com/video/thgkls4YFl4/v-deo.html
St Luke's is blessed. Shane is amazing.
For all that got's to know ...... ua-cam.com/video/_SGlPnA_iCk/v-deo.html
We have a forest ranger at St. Luke's. Let's see if we can make that happen.
Yes, he would have done just that as far as the wrong major goes. Ask Pastor David about Camp Lutherwood. 😊
So many treasures in this podcast. Thank you for sharing. It opened up a different world for us to see.
Nice to have you with us pastor
Great podcast! I really enjoyed listening to both Lindsay and Molly!
Thank you!! And we really enjoyed hosting you!
Pickles
So now I will listen to the "after" podcast. This would be great to share with some running groups, is there such a thing?
If only there was some Federal Way track and cross country club...................... Hmmmmmmm....
Ben and Jason, Thanks for sharing with us, you both are amazing.
Circle The Hood was phenomenal! If for no one else other than ourselves, it was a dedicated time of meaningful conversation on the podcast and on the trails. In this digital age of noise, distraction and hurry, intentionally choose to slow down, be in the moment, seek silence and solitude, live simply and listen for the voice of God. ----- I would encourage you to read John Mark Comer's book entitled "The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry".
Nice 👌
