Antonov An-2: Engine Start and Warm-Up
The original video by AviaBarsov Flying School is available here: ua-cam.com/video/kP4UmoxmH8w/v-deo.html. I just added English subtitles to help my non-Russian friends flying on SibWings An-2 easily learn engine start-up and heating procedures from a real pilot. By default the subtitles are on. If you still can't see them, click on "CC" (captions) icon to activate.
Viktor Quebec bu vidionu təkrar verdiyinuz üçün təşəkkür edirəm. Bu Kəlbəcərdən məcburi köçkünlərin ürək ağrıları, əzab əziyyətlərinin təsviridir. Ermənilərin verdiyi əzabları görəsən allah bağışlayarmı?
dvigatel off, the plane still on air što?
An electric starter to spin an inertial starter....That's epic !
Choszaja maszina . W Polszu toże dielana . W Mielcu .
I love this plane.
👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Is this in Surgut?
Ah, the nostalgia factor,
The engine exhaust smoke is coming inside the cockpit
its like my old 2008 bmw 128i
I am getting the AN-2 for microsoft flight simulator. And I wanted to see how a real one is started up. This is such a good instruction! Thanks for the translation. I think this should be included as a tutorial for the simulated AN-2 with this guys voice. Good job sir! Spassiba!
😍👍
hello my Friends i love this plane modele nice explaination im french and i andretand every thing lul, Thanks for your video victor :)
Co tam robi Icom Ic706 ? :)
how can the engine be ok if cylinder no. 9 is not working?
Because it's Russian
It will once it's warm
And how was your чай?
Geil
didnt they forget flipping the switches in the center console before leaving the plane?
Urugulu yes, he said to shut off the circuit breakers (the switches on the center console) twice but never actually did it. LOL
The clink the switches made is very satisfying.
Bu videonu dinlədikcə xəyallarım məni Kəlbəcərə, ötən xoşbəxt uşaqlıq illərimin bəxtəvər çağlarına qaytardı...
An Antonov An-2 that starts on the first Attempt? Video must be fake :D
it started on the first attempt because the ground crew turned the prop by hand while the pilot manually injected fuel into the cylinders using the priming pump. if you don't inject fuel while the engine is being hand-propped then yes, several attempts are needed to get it going.
Ojjj... razkrutka, zapusk, magneto..... kak krasivia pesenka dla moich ...?? uší? Ja mnogo poletal v "Andule" tak nazivame mašinu v čechii, no ja nikagda neprožil pasadku, ja skakal s parachutom. Martin.
Ah i love poland
If you think its poland u must be so uneducated person w.o any school.. :)
@@user-gn2hu1jp7i I'm only saying that because literally 30,000 AN2s were built in poland..
Where is he seeing that the number 9 cylinder isn’t firing? I’m not recognizing such engine monitoring gauges.
I don't know for sure but I can make an educated guess. It seems like one of the cylinder head temperature gauges is not heating up. It's probably situated in the 9'th cylinder so the pilot concludes that cylinder #9 isn't firing.
There is a separate exhaus temperature gauge for the bottom (no.9) cylinder. Usually when the engine sits for long periods, oil will accumulate in the bottom cylinders and will foul the spark plugs. Before the engine start the prop is turned by hand a few times to ensure that the cylinders are cleared of any oil that could be accumulated. After the engine start, the pilot will run the engine to operating temperature, keeping an eye on the EGT gauges to make sure the spark plugs are firing and all the cylinders operate. If the exhaust temp of the bottom cylinders don't rise, then the engine needs to be shut of and the problem investigated.
Can i fly a plane like this in fsx 2020 ?
The AN-2 is available in the current MSF.
i jumped from this 15 years.. 3000 meters.. this is one plane that will never die.. app.. i m not russian.. 😅
Luna airfield I guess...Nice time, nice plane exuberantly feelings.
Now there is modification And flying in regional aviation
That guy knows his stuff! When you can start a cold radial in 10 seconds flat, then you know your machine with your eyes closed. An earlier commenter was right, I would fly with that guy in a bucket of loose bolts!
U in. .
Just wait till head temp. hits 400 degrees F,..........And hit the throttle!
Alter Verwalter.
heating ? you mean warming up the engine ?
bobl78 Actually, yes. That's my fault - I'm not a native speaker... :)
No problem
I think that tea, was in reality some vodka
"9th cilinder not working... Never mind, it will if warms up" :DDDDDDDDDDD RUSSIA BITCH
Great video, God I miss toggle switches.
Flew this airplanes in Colombia, in the 90's The starter was a heavy disc connected to an electrical motor, after 22 second of rotation a clutch was pushed to engage the disk to the engine , that's how this engine was started, also remember the brakes were air brakes like the ones on busses or trucks, the black lever on the left side and in front of the of the joke ''pilot side'' is the brake, like a motorcycle, both pedals centered; brake action is even, push on pedal more than the other and breaking action will go to that side. almost a ton in cargo, 12 passengers, a black box on the tail section hanging on 4 wires nothing electrical to it was only a set of needles on top of a piece of white metal, in case of a crash the needles will scratch the metal and that will give some ideas to the investigators, all this enclosed in a 6inch by 6 inch box...just hanging there. Also remember a central port under the plane with some switches and a hose, you placed a 55 gallon drum with fuel right there and the hose and pump will put the gas on the top tanks ,right or left!! fun plane to fly, reached 60 knots and up like a rocket have to push forward column to keep safe speed. hey I was 20 or 21 and flew this for 100 hours as a copilot!! can't remember much!!
I love seeing these classic aircraft! They would not feel complete without smoke filling the cabin immediately upon starting!
Lol @ 9th cylinder isn't working, it will when it's hot enough. Classic Russian engineering mentality.
L Hauxwell It is like he said. Old spark plug needs to be heated. Nothing scarry.
I like
Why SO complicated ? No wonder they fall out of the sky.
Complicated? You won't ever find a plane simpler than this one..
George are you an imbecile
I'd fly with that guy if we were sitting in a bucket of bolts. Oh....wait.....
Yes, I say it is indeed time for a tea!
1:05 most important , remove the control lock !! Its the same I do when y station my car in Madrid! Looks like that in Siberia thera are no car thefts , but plane thefts.
Heh, but actually its to prevent damage to control surfaces from wind or other aircrafts wakes. It locks them in place so they dont flop around and get damaged in storms or alike.
Love it. This one isnt working.. Well put on more fuel till it works lol. Love the AN-2. Such a great aircraft.
That sound just as the engine started. Beautiful.
