Garelli Monza Road test
At last I have put together a (rather shaky) 'Road Test' of my Classic 1970 Garelli Monza!
I have owned this bike since 1977, when I used it for a couple of years. I kept it in my garage in a very dilapidated state until 2005, when my Dad started the cosmetic restoration works. in the last few years I have rebuilt the engine with new main bearings and seals. Some parts have been replaced, but basically she's mostly original.
Although the restoration is still not fully complete, she now runs as well as she did all those years ago, and has been road worthy for the last year or so. I have taken her to a few Classic Vehicle shows as it's something quite unique these days and worth showing.
Now at 53, I still enjoy riding what was made as a 16 year old's bike. It's still a fun machine more than 44 years after it was built!
Enjoy :-)

How many men does it take to float a Yacht
Переглядів 10310 років тому
In the Autumn the Eling yacht club takes out 4-6 yachts to scrape the barnacles from their bottoms, and carry out essential maintenance over the winter months. In the Spring they put them back in the water. On Saturday 15 March, early in the morning I caught the last 2 Yachts being put back in the water. I have sped up most of the footage because it's like watching paint dry after a few minutes...
How's this for a cracked bell

While on a family Holiday in France in 2001, we visited this pretty little city and were treated to this horrible sounding clock chime - hardly fitting for this glorious Cathedral.
The Clay Bells of Liss
Переглядів 6 тис.10 років тому
1984 (Is it really 30 years). The Liss Campanile were the first ring of ceramic bells in the world. They replaced what was the first ever ring of Galvanised Buckets - but not quite the last! In those days 'Peals' were not accepted by 'The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers'. As a response we were fortunate to acquire the services of Colin & Patrick Reid from Newbury to put together a short ...
Floods 2014

What with all the terrible flooding recently, I thought it time that I re-visited Droxford, a place my ex wife and I dragged our kids to one Christmas eve over a decade ago - when we had been experiencing similar weather. Only, this time things were a lot worse! Then I had to check out the state of things in nearby Hambledon where they have suffered flooding for several weeks already.
It's Christmas Eve and we're looking at floods!

Christmas Eve 2000. We just had to drag the kids out from their computer games for a breath of fresh air, and to witness something that thankfully doesn't happen that often... we did however witness only the nicer side of flooding - it seems very poignant with all these terrible floods around at the moment. My kids remember that Christmas eve above all others... I knew they would, and always wi...
The Jack & Jill Tryout 2000

The Jack & Jill House Campanile, as it was in early 2000. Having been origionally hung using the fittings rescued from Paul Schofield's 'Alverstoke Campanile'. The bells are a collection of odds and ends I managed to tune into a pretty decent octave. These were subsequently re-hung 18 month later, with new Headstocks & Wheels, and the old (Alverstoke Campanile) fittings were donated to Ben Care...

Eling Peal 1 8 13

The first Peal to be rung at Eling for many years, to the memory to John S Hopwood who learned to ring at Eling in the 1960's. On this beautiful afternoon it was a pleasure to listen to this Peal. I couldn't resist filming the closing moments for posterity sake... I only wish our local band at Eling could ring Bristol this well!
NEMO, Penkridge to Abingdon

In August 2006 Lizzie Chris and I had an interesting holiday taking my brother Martin's recently acquired Narrow boat from Penkridge on the Staff & Worcs Canal in Staffordshire to Abingdon in Oxfordshire as part of it's journey to Keynsham near Bristol on the Kennet & Avon Canal.

Beautiful!!!!!
My first trip to Alton Towers was when it wasn't a theme park, just the house and grounds (oh, and a rather large model train set in a building), there was a large shallow lake that people would paddle in, but no rides. Then, along came the cork screw, wow, this was a great ride (at the time and I still loved it to the end), and the park slowly grew, and so did my visits. I've no idea how many times I've visited, too many, but not in recent years (although I hope to go next year). It's great to see the old videos, I have some others, it does bring back memories and glad to see everyone having a good time.
In 1968 I bought one of these in slightly rough condition. At the time we were racing 100cc karts, and I had fabricator mate who knocked up an expansion chamber for it, along with a good overbore and bigger carb enough power to get nicked on the A127 at 62mph on the flat. I boasted about the ticket for a long time after that, a good bit better than yer bloody fis1e and the like
Also st Margaret's church has tiny bells Tuned in B♭
sounds alot like keele woodland bells
What’s the point of even having a stay there if you’re not gonna put it to use?
Is that Matthew higby as a kid?
Currently reading "Shadow Over Innsmouth" by H.P. Lovecraft. Innsmouth bells are cracked, and this video helped me visualize the sound in my imagination. Thank you very much. :D
I don’t like lady Louisa. She kinda a stupid woman who likes haunting longleat’s corridors and walls and perhaps sneaking along passageways.
I didn't realise there was early Midways on this clip. There were only ever two of us in the world capable of managing these beasts, Steve :-)
I thought the lights weren’t mean to flicker and when I saw it the shadow went upstairs
The Homefield Portable Ring! Only one peal was rung on these, inside Hawkley Church! 5024 Yorkshire S Major in 1h 56m.
Can all 7 be rung together? Anyone ever attempted to ring triples here?
I had a 1968 one in the 1970s. I paid £5 for it, I was still at school and coming up to 17. I restored it ready for when I was 17. They certainly were quick for their size.
I owned a 1968 one in the 1970s. The headlight on mine was dim, like a cigarette end. How it passed the MOT heaven knows.
Wincanton sound like Holsworthy Devon
The ropes are exellent where did you get them
🤣😂
first they were buckets which sounded dreadful then they were converted to flowerpots
60kg and 6.3hp all wrapped up in a cafe racer style......impressive...
Hi Steve. I brought a 1969 50cc Garelli monza ss brand new. This is a silly question, but would you be willing to sell and if so, how much and whereabouts are you. Please pm me. Many thanks. P. Corcoran
christ and they got another mini ring
that must have tooken a lot of effort to build that 110lb tenor ain't a bad weight for a garage shame they don't have sliders
no shrouding on the wheels?
Il Monza era una scheggia
they sound like a tiny Hawkley haha
the old hayes campanile sounds very good ! a treble would make a beautiful six!!
Both middle bells need retuning. Other than that, it would be a very nice ring of 6 there.
I’m having trouble playing the video, it won’t play at all.
🤣🤣🤣
Thank You For sharing this Video

I could see the shadow in the light that is a ghost
That's a sound of a haunted house
The resonance the tenor has is quite incredible!
Ringerluca651 it’s me your best fan
Rang at Albury today - they sound absolutely brilliant! Some are a bit dodgy, particularily the tenor. I think their current set of ropes are relatively new, and I know they haven't been rung properly since before Covid as they havent got many local ringers. Really a wonderful place though, they suit the grand building, if perhaps a bit too big for the tower.
They are quite difficult. But very rewarding!
I might sound retarded but is this real or is that fake like an attraction
Love it 😊
What is it that you are not going to be a bit of the world and a client base that reads like a who's going to be able to make it tonight but will be in touch with the people who are not going well and truly over... 😀😁😂🤣😃😅😅😅😀😁😂🤣😃😄😅

Hi! I'm creating a documentary about the history of the Blackhole. Would you mind me using some of this footage in my video. Full credit will be given on the video and a link to your channel in the description. Thanks!
Hello
WOW !!!!!!!!!
It's a shame that there's no other clips/videos of this cathedral's clock tolling anywhere on the internet. Thanks for sharing!
I'm liking the hour bell. I'm sure the two quarter chiming bells are just old steelies, by happenstance. Probably the main hour tolling bell could be a steelie as well.
The Liss campanile was first a set of bucket bells, after they were replaced with clay bells.
