      @@sgrams3578 Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I was a DJ for 20 years so sometimes I insert the "Music Video" style. One song was kind of redneck, another was a little more kick a_ _ for the feeling of the power that the little machine has. I wasn't sure if it bothered people to listen to the machine running in fast forward, or not. I have recently watched more digging videos to see what other people are doing as well. One of my future videos will show modifying the hydraulics to quick disconnects and shortened hoses. That one probably won't have any music 😃 Thanks again and Take Care, Jimbo.

    Not sure if your bucket can reach/touch the blade? It would be cool to mount the ripper in a "holster" which is mounted to the blade. It looks heavy so maybe you can move the stick to the ripper to mount instead of lifting by hand? As far as axe goes maybe mount a pvc tube to the ROPS and drop the axe handle in it.

      The counterweight is below the engine access door on the back. The machine feels very stable, compared to what I have see on the smaller models. This one has a longer track length which seems to help a lot. Check out the second video in that playlist. It shows the machine lifting some pretty sizeable stumps out of the holes, and it lifted one that I had to drag up and out of the hole. ua-cam.com/video/9lrEq6wqZSk/v-deo.html I was impressed, but I don't want to push the machine too hard. Hello, thanks for the comment. I like the color too. It just happened to be the machine they had already on order for their stock so I bought it prior to its arrival. I have googled about your question and am still not totally sure about the rating. Here is one of the paragraphs I found. "A "2 ton mini-excavator" refers to a small, compact excavator that weighs approximately 2 tons, making it ideal for tight spaces and smaller construction projects like trenching, landscaping, and light demolition, where larger excavators wouldn't fit; essentially, it's a mini excavator within the 1-2 ton weight class, offering good maneuverability while still having decent digging capacity." Mine weights 3500 pounds and can lift 1800 pounds right at the blade. I hope this answers your question. Take Care, Jimbo.

    The idea for the mini excavator is to not work has hard. Small stumps is ripper tooth. The bigger stumps is 8inch Bucket. Dig out to 2 to 3 inch in root size and thin rip back to stumps. On digging the dirt out just set to side tell finding the roots then trace root out tell it breaks Im thinking of making a rack to be able to move and connect to blade. Make remember and add counter weight when needed.

    • @JimboSouthDakota
      @JimboSouthDakota 29 днів тому

      Thanks for the comment. I wasn't sure if the larger stumps had a tap root that goes mostly straight down. It seems like most of the roots go out to the side. So I probably don't need to dig so deep. I think that is what you are saying. It has gotten pretty cold here lately so I am probably done with stumps until Spring. I will try your technique of facing the stump and digging outward, following the roots to the 2-3 inch diameter. Then see if the stump will break free. I would like to see the rack you build, if possible, and how it is attached to the machine. Take Care.

    • @jtsokiehobbyandadventures6666
      @jtsokiehobbyandadventures6666 29 днів тому

      @@JimboSouthDakota i start to hide the colder it gets. I try working 40 to 50 deg and above. On the roots I follow out tell it breaks. Its normal in the 2 to 3 inches. It takes time to get use to using the machine. Remember you don't have to run full speed. Only time I do is when moving. The rest of the time 1/2 to 3/4 speed. When moving heavy things pull it as close to the blade as possible. Not as tipsy. I have a box when I had diggit em15 mini weight was 2250 pounds. It was gas. I could pick this metal box up and move it. Just not fast. I'm going to see if this 3000 pound mini will move it. Oh the metal box is 800 pound.

    • @JimboSouthDakota
      @JimboSouthDakota 29 днів тому

      1/2 - 3/4 speed sounds good. The XH20D weights 3500 pounds and has 60 inch tracks, and the blade sticks out another 10 inches. This really helps with stability. Still have to be really careful. I was testing the waters with that last stump by going off to the side and a ways away from the machine. I won't do that very much though. Take Care, Jimbo.

I noticed on the motor itself all the hose clamps on the fuel line. Needed about a turn to 3 turns to get him tight. I run my machine at idol 214 100R. PM's Not nearest jerky that way On the rake, I had to weld 38 metal on the teeth below the round part of the rake. Ben it up pretty good. The 1st day. But the machine is a Beast. It does anything and everything you ask of it. I did not get the auger. Let me know how it works. Thinking awful, heart about it. I do have the jackhammer. It works pretty good. Thanks for the comments. I appreciate it. The blade placement has definitely made a difference with the last 8 stumps I have dug out. Shortly I will have a video showing the recent digs and in particular, lifting heavy stumps out of the holes. Definitely a blade in front situation. Stripping dirt out by layers makes a difference as well. When digging in areas that have some light ground frost can be broken through with the ripper tooth. Then undermining a little at a time helps pull up frosted dirt in chunks. Thanks again for the great advice! Take Care, Jimbo South Dakota.

    I also just bought a mini excavator, an AGT QK16R and am by no means an expert operator, but one thing you may want to try when pulling roots or doing tough digging is to move the machine as close as you can to the spot you want to dig so the dipper isn't extended out so far. That will give you a lot more leverage to break through tough soil.

    • @JimboSouthDakota
      @JimboSouthDakota Місяць тому

      Yes, for sure! I now have about 30 hours on the machine and have dug out approximately 8 much larger stumps. Shortly I will post a video with clips from those digs. Frost is also starting to get into the ground here so the ripper tooth has been great with cracking the crust. Thanks a ton for the comment and suggestion. I appreciate it. Jimbo South Dakota.

    What size are the pin for buckets. I have a cheap Chinese mini excavator. Its a nt18k 3000 pound no warranty. I have play with smaller ones for few years now. I cant afford those models. Can you tell me how long the thum is. Bolt to tip end. You should try ripper tooth first or smaller bucket. Dont make a mess as bad. Follow the root tell 3 inches or so. It will break easer

    • @JimboSouthDakota
      @JimboSouthDakota Місяць тому

      Hello, thanks for the comments. The total length of the bucket pin is 6 3/16" including the threads. The threads alone are about an inch. The diameter appears to be an inch. The length of the thumb is 18" measured straight line from the tip to the center of the main pivot pin. The full length is 19 1/4". I now have about 30 hours on the machine and my skills have improved...Lol!! I have dug out approx. 8 much larger stumps and the machine worked great! Using the ripper tooth first definitely helped, especially with frost starting to set into the ground where I live. One thing I have found with digging larger stumps is to did down pretty deep as close to the trunk as possible. Usually there are about 3 main roots or so that I chop with a nice sharp ax. After that, I finish digging a trench all the way around as close as I can get to the stump. The dirt is usually packed in and under the stump almost like concrete. Once that is loosened up some I can usually push and pull on the top of the stump until it breaks free. Then it is just a matter of lifting, or dragging, it out of the hole. Shortly I will post a video with clips of the dig. Based on the size of my machine, I am very happy with how it can lift very large stumps out of the hole. Take Care! Jimbo South Dakota.

      Hello. Thanks for commenting. It certainly looks that way. That area had huge roots right below the ground, and, my lack of skill contributed as well. Since then I have dug out 6 more stumps and it went much better. I will post some video of those as well. Yesterday in particular it went very well, including being able to lift some sizable stumps out with the bucket and thumb. The Ripper Tooth really worked well on roots, compacted dirt within the roots, and ground frost. By the way, you are the 500th subscriber to the channel. Thank You very much! I appreciate it. I agree. Company you bought from may have adjusted the pressure relief down to lessen the chance of damaging anything. Pressure should be about 2500 psi. If it is, you should be able to easily lift the entire machine off the ground by extending the blade all the way down and then use the boom to lift the opposite end.

    • @JimboSouthDakota
      @JimboSouthDakota Місяць тому

      Thanks for the comment! I do like the idea of not damaging things. I think my lack of skill, and the extended root system just below the dirt were the main contributors to my issues. Tomorrow I should have a chance to test the lift as you described it. Shortly I will be posting a video showing some better digging outcomes..🙂..Take Care, Jimbo South Dakota.

    I saw this on Facebook and stopped right there to view this. I got into the unit in 1970 and was in Accounting and Finance. We moved our office up into the north second floor of the hangar. It gave us an excellent view of the jets and maintenance crew. I well remember James Walden coming in there to work with Chief Davis for needed funding. Walden was indeed one who would push things in there the right way. His arguments were quick and highly persuasive about why he needed items. Having someone like him in your section boosted you all. Later I well remember you guys needed more crew working with you during ORE/ORI for chemical warfare. So they assigned me to head down there and be with you guys. A couple of times we were in Biloxi out in the heat and humidity cleaning the pilots' gear while they were processing through your area. Remember when we had folks getting heat exhaustion then? I think about 10 folks had collapsed and were taken to the local clinic off base. Col Mayes (later a General of course) came on the base speaker. Stopped us all and advised us to drink water. "Do it now!" And we did. Being a Tommy Light kind of mutt I could barely reach pilots like Col Mayes as attempting to strip and guard their headgear. So most of those pilots had to sort of bend over in a bad position during the heat and I would reach high up to work them. I did indeed notice improvements you had made, every exercise getting much better. Then later after being assigned to Budget I had to come down to your shop and listen and help on accounting for your funds. Tom Salyer and Randy Mann were the two having to participate in that. You all had my sympathy as I hated a skilled and highly needed section like you folks having to wade through numbers. Then when Bracken rose in rank and such one could indeed see his "go get it" type of attitude. Also, was Bracken's name ever carved onto the memorial monuments? Out of curiosity, I took a look and did not see it, maybe missing it. This interview was really intriguing about the training you had to go through. Learning survival skills and surviving capture made us little office nerds learn Excel and computer use much easier. And yes, Randy's Dad was indeed one that helped so many of us in Prattville learn music since he was our band leader at junior and senior high school. He was one person who influenced a lot of us in class. Yes, the Mann family contributed to local education. Randy, seeing your sis (Carol) at the Col Williams' funeral reminded me a lot of her Dad. Duane and Randy, I'm wondering if I can find an old TV Guide and get you guys' autographs. Duane, getting to see you at the Jimmy Middleton crew's eatin' meetin' will perhaps give me a chance for your autograph then!
