So, this year I'm becoming very specific about how (and where) I'm spending my money as I no longer have the disposable income I once did. I really appreciate your honesty and I enjoyed this video so much! I had a massive glow up myself, and I wish I had known my self better sooner. Sometimes it is the simple things that elevate our looks and self-image. Not everyone is willing to share their tips on self-improvement, there seems to be either a need to “pass” as someone who was born good-looking confident and self aware (like the toxic people on social media you so wisely cut off) or a sense of competitiveness/fear of sharing the secret of success. Thank you for keeping real, you’ve got a new fan!

      You’re so kind! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment like this :) I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and I agree with you 100%!! I think there can also be a ‘fear’ of being judged for sharing what we do to become more attractive. Even on this video I’ve gotten some not-so-nice comments and it’s made me realize that it’s hard to ‘win’. There will always be people who think negatively of us for whatever we choose to do (or not do). So I just believe in being honest, being ourselves, and not letting anyone else opinions bother us for it :)

    You might like the Maha jumper which has more of a sweetheart neckline and is a merino cotton blend. It’s great if you are bustier. The Hannah bodysuit is a v neck but it’s not too low and it is also a merino cotton blend.

      While I don’t recall using the term matronly and I definitely do not shop only for ‘sex appeal’ - I do have to agree with you that I am not the target audience :) Ive been on a mission to find high quality clothing at reasonable prices and since Sézane fits the criteria I wanted to give them a try! • @petitcoeur-q6r
      @petitcoeur-q6r 4 дні тому

      Yes they are boxy and shapeless. It’s meant to fit a certain body type so not very inclusive. I can only wear their jumpers or their shirt skirts as I’m petite. (The short skirts aren’t that short on me). Otherwise trousers, longer dresses and shirts are too long and overwhelming on a smaller frame. The body shape they had in mind is the French woman body stereotype - tall, thin and not much of shape. They seem to do that for a lot of French brands as well(soeur , rouje, Claudie pierlot, Sandro, Maje etc).

    I mean you don't really look better now than in 2019. You have fewer hairs out of place, wear more makeup, and are less expressive but that's a very specific (curated/kardashian-ian) model of "pretty". I've only watched until the first minute which is about where you said the "I think we can all agree..." part, I just wanted to make it known that that's a presumptuous statement. The candid look works better for me tbqh

Btw, you are so beautiful without the highlights and lashes! You didn’t even need them! I feel proud that I’m focusing on my finances that will bring me a brighter future than any luxury goods or services will bring me. This only benefits you in the short term but not the long term. For clearance here: Viscose is a cellulose material thats chemically processed. If you shirt labels "bamboo" as example as a fibre, its basically a type of viscose. Same with rayon. Next point: jeans with 1-2% (not higher than 5!!!) spandex in it are totaly fine. That makes it fit a little better and makes it more comfortable. The issue is with the fit cause its loosing the original shape after time. Everything higher then this speeds up the process.

    • @Kaurraline
      @Kaurraline 28 днів тому

      I appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment! You are so right about the jeans being OK with 1 or 2% spandex, but not much higher - good call out :) Regarding the viscose and rayon, they are definitely semi-synthetic by definition, but (call me crunchy) I like to avoid the semi-synthetic fibers and any chemical processing all together when I can!

  • @Allesea159
    @Allesea159 29 днів тому

    1: you say to hold your shirt to the light, how do I do that online? also, very thick cotton might last you longer, but body shape wise many people will drown in such thick fabrics body shape wise. I for example thrive in drapey-medium weight cottons, and they do let light through if I hold them in front of a window. Flimsy should be left alone, but a thinner cotton isn't bad per se. 2: 100% jeans do not fit me ever as I have very curvy hips and thicker thighs and a fleshy butt. I never get 100% cotton jeans to even get over my thigh area, so I need stretch for jeans to be comfortable. Sometimes stretch is for making jeans cheaper, sometimes it's actually functional 3: absolutely agree on loose threads and stitching! but again, how do you spot such things when shopping online? other than that, very good tips about zips, buttons, fit and company policies :)

    • @Kaurraline
      @Kaurraline 28 днів тому

      This is such a thoughtful comment, thank you for the questions/thoughts <3 It's certainly a challenge to tell fabric thickness online! Outside of scrutinizing the photos, generally I wait until I have the garments in my hands to do this (thus the importance of a good return policy!). The same goes for the loose threads and stitching, brands tend to use the best (or should I say misleading?) photos online, so again it's something to check once you have the garments in person! I do have to agree about the different thickness of cottons having different use cases! Especially when I lived in Florida, you couldn't have paid me to be in super thick fabrics. But now in Utah, it's all I wear! Though from a strictly quality perspective - i always find the thicker fabrics to hold up longer :)

I made this video because I believe that being transparent about the impact of finances on beauty is important. That being said I don’t think it’s fair to minimize the effort it takes as well though! Working out everyday and eating very restrictively isn’t exactly *fun*.

    • @cristina-r8w
      @cristina-r8w 29 днів тому

      I think apart from the pricey devices, focusing on cleaner eating should be a priority for everyone. Also exercising or keeping active is free. Both however take a lot of determination or discipline and not to expect immediate results to keep consistency. It’s a bit bizare how in the past, less fortunate families had home cooked meals and couldn’t afford fizzy drinks and all sorts of other processed treats, nowadays that wheel has turned and is more to do with the mentality than affordability.

    unfollowing and removing followers is one thing i've done too. like why would i need to have my old classmates or coworkers in my followers when i'm never even gonna see those people again? also, i've been wanting to have a nose job since i was 14 and i'm 24 now - only thing is that my parents hate the idea of me "ruining" my nose because i got it from them/their genes. i'm debating whether it's worth getting it even if it means ruining my relationship with my parents.

    • @Kaurraline
      @Kaurraline Місяць тому

      The nose job is something I had always wanted as well - and I am quite happy with the choice overall. It's worth noting that it is NOT cheap, and it didn't turn out *exactly* how I wanted, but nonetheless it is still a nice improvement. Regarding your parents, my thoughts would be that it is your body and your face. I've found life is easier when you're happy with yourself. So will it truly "ruin" your relationship with them? Or will it cause temporary disappointment from them? How MUCH of a change would you like to make to your nose profile - and is that change worth the family tension? These are questions only you can answer :)
