    Brodeur was always my all time favourite goalie, but there's just something about Patrick Roy that just seemed almost not-human. The dude could see/predict the puck like no other. I certainly miss that era of goaltending. When butterfly was taking over, but the old school stand-up style was still visible in the game. Names like Roy, Brodeur, Joseph, Belfour, Hasek, Potvin etc come to mind. Damn that was a good era of hockey.

    back in MTL he'd win games with barely a team in front of him. If he had a stacked team like Dryden, Fuhr, you name it, his numbers would have been unreachable. I mean, first season in Colorado and bam, another Stanley cup, only he didn't have to do all the work. So, all you haters, give it a rest.

      @ciaronsmith4995 5 років тому

      @@paulthomas9911 WHAT? Brodeur??? That guy is so crap compared to Roy and Hasek. Played behind a trap and when he faced Roy in the finals got massively exposed. Roy won 3 Conn Smythe Trophies (goalie record) and 4 cups. Roy is the ULTIMATE big-game goalie. No goalie ever won the playoff MVP award more than him. Get a clue man. I's honestly not even a debate. Roy is the greatest goalie of all time by FAR. Just a legend..

    • @paulthomas9911
      @paulthomas9911 5 років тому

      @@ciaronsmith4995 that is your opinion. Broduer won 3 stanley cups, and never was the reason the team lost. Roy was the reason the avalanche lost to the red wings in 2002 and additional years. Roy was overrated. Hasek is better than Roy too. So is Tretiak. I will say, you can make an argument for Roy being top 5 of all time, which is a pretty good achievement.

    • @ciaronsmith4995
      @ciaronsmith4995 5 років тому

      @@paulthomas9911 The fact he won 3 Conn Smythes clearly destroys your argument. 2002 was his last season and he had an awful game 7 But he stole pretty much every other series win the Avalanche had against the better coached Red Wings. But your argument is flawed again because Brodeur was absolutely the reason NJ lost in 2001 in Game 7 too! Lost his angles big-time! Sorry but Roy WAS THE reason the Canadiens won the cup twice and Avalanche won it twice. Anything else you say is absurd man. Without him, they don;t win those cups, plain and simple. Did you see him at Montreal? 10 straight OT wins. 3 Conn Smythes which clearly indicates he was the best player in the playoffs 3 times. Something no other goalie has ever done. Patrick is the GOAT. Then Hasek. Then Sawchuk. Then Tretiak. Then Brodeur.
