ugh.... nice looks and that's where it ends. All the ridiculous engineering and still can't beat the mileage we get on our 2004 Toyota Camry ICE. It has none of that nonsense, is easy to fix if needed, and has plenty of pep for a 4cyl. Dear automakers, please bring common sense back into the engineering! Oh and we still like manual transmissions too.

Just bought one of these brand new Chevy 2024 RS I checked the oil in it at 2000 miles. It was down to half a court. The car is brand new. Probably because the oil is so thin and you have timing belts running through it or the engines a piece of junk seems to ride well so far I’ll give it to benefit of the doubt. Maybe they didn’t put enough oil in it when I bought it but I got an oil change. I’ll find out.

Why does this engine run so hot? I live where there is no heat, no humidity, and I never have the AC on.

BACKUP. Lets talk about the existing AWD Maverick which comes in 3 flavors. Basic AWD FX4 AWD TREMOR AWD. Are all 3 of these the same AWD using the same rear Disengageable diff & same PTU up front? ALSO, Know this>>> The Maverick AWD CANNOT be towed. Not all 4 down nor with a tow dolly If disabled it must be taken to the shop on a flatbed, so forget about any dreams you might have about towing it behind your motorhome. Hybrid, YES. AWD NO. !

The 2025 civic hybrid has more torque and hp than 2025 ford maverick. I'll wait until ford decides to use a more powerful hybrid powertrain, hopefully that will be part of it's "planned obsolescence" for 2026

The Maverick is one of the few American cars that showed some imagination. Personally I'm always a wait and see with new models or new refresh models, I hope they sell a ton of them and they are reliable. I'd like to see a refresh of the EcoBoost 2.0 (and all of them really)to combine port and direct injection like they did with the larger motors.

I wanted to buy this car but the engine is keeping me away from it. I may just spend a little more money and buy something else.

I always put less oil than called for while on ramps. I always add the last bit of oil while on level ground. It makes a huge difference. Very glad you take the time to fill the oil filter. The amount of time without oil pressure due to an empty filter is measurable. Important simple step you can do you minimize unnecessary wear on the engine.

THIS is the type of review I want, I don't care about super technical details and the people that say, "yep that's an engine". I want to know how difficult it is going to be to service it, are there things that are hard to reach? Do I need special tools for basic jobs?

It makes way more sense for a car reviewer to be mechanically inclined to give a fair and balanced review.

Changed my son’s oil after he always had shops do it. 6 different kinds of fasteners holding the belly pan on. Can’t trust anyone to do the work correctly

You should Always get this done at the dealer. How else are you going to know that your truck needs 2000 bucks worth of work you never suspected

The engine has to be remove, and with that the entire front clip, to do work on the timing belts I understand??!! (The Car Care Nut youtube video said so). I was going to buy one of these this month but I'm thinking when this is out of warranty, going to be a nightmare to service. Any comments? Thanks.

The more I learn about this truck the more I'm thinking about the 2025 Nissan Frontier. Not as sexy perhaps but probably BUILT better.

Extremely nice drivetrain by Ford with the planetary gear set used for the transmission a much better system than a belt driven CVT. They could make a single cab version of the Maverick Hybrid at some stage with the ability to have an AWD driveline optioned. Whoever is running the styling department at Ford at the moment is certainly doing a good job with the current crop of Ford vehicle's very handsome indeed. Nice job Ford.... 😎🇦🇺👍
