Designing a 3 - 4 GHz pre-amp using my own software. Something I never mentioned in the video is that the components do not need to be connected with wires, but need to be placed in order as I show in my software. Also all the vertical components are automatically grounded, no need to ground them. If you like the software enough, I would be pleased to give a copy, but with gratitude.

Comparing my S-parameter magnitude/gain graph I designed in C and compared the graphs to ADS and MATLAB. The corrected version of the graph is in the thumbnail! not sure how I can edit the video to correct the graph. Had some formulas wrong in the program!

In this second video, I design the 3 GHz LNA on a PCB layout, then transfer the layout to the schematic to generate an s-parameter plot. BTW you do not need to use gnd! to setup a ground. All I should have done is put grounds on the bottom plane for the completed circuit. using my MATLAB program to design 2.4 GHz microwave amplifier. This is more ideal and does not include parasitics in devices. If you want more accurate results, work with ADS software instead! This shows you the math behind building these microwave amplifiers.

    hey so i did all of the things, the only thing that it transferred was the blank brand account, not the one with the videos on it. What did you do?

      You can either go back to 6:12, or as I showed, I created a brand account, after that, go to settings inside brand account, then click on Add and manage your channel, then click on your new account name (not brand account), then go to settings again and then you should see add or remove managers and click on that and then just keep following the video after that.     could you please explain why do we need a dc feed inductor at the output of the transistor please , what is the exact role of this inductor since it is conected to the power suply , thanks ...

      The inductor helps provide biasing for the transistor and also blocks any of the RF signal from leaking into the DC power line.

    For an LNA to be unconditionally stable, the stability circles must lie either totally enclose or totally outside the smith chart. Refer: Pozar, David M. Microwave Engineering, Pg. 566 Edit: Given, |S11|<1 and |S22|<1

      @@chrisv1459 Ok. I manually tested but not sure, I'm working in 128MHz and using ATF34143... One thing that I am in trouble with is that after getting in matlab, my input impedance is very high (3.5498e+02 - 3.0046e+02i) and the output is ok (60.6123 -20.8016i). Second, I am not sure that the noise and gain circles it is ok (it seem that they are coming from the Right side of the smith chart with the near edges). My GaCircle block is "GaCircle1=ga_circle(S,{19,20,21,22,23,24.3},51)" and my NSCircle is NsCircle1=ns_circle({0.05,0.09,0.21,0.58,1.04},0.013,0.98+j*0.03,4.32/50,51)". My final concerning is that my S11 is horrible (near 0dB) even with the shunt resistor. My circuit is stable and I'm not sure if I design the L-C matching circuit (not the transmission line or stub) can solve this s11 problem...

    In the Derivation of the K factor there is an condition for the S Parameters (|s12|*|s21|)/(1-|s22|²)<1 that has to be fulfilled. Only if that condition is fulfilled and K is greater one, then the circuit is stable. edit: The mu factor takes this extra condition into account.
