@@MichaelJohnson-hy3be that actually happened to me a few rides after fixing the issue on this vid... something happened to the coil that made it go bad... bike started running on 3cly and eventually died leaving me stranded again... towed it home and cheched the coils... the left one was bigger than the others.. in a puffy way, like it was really bad. Replaced it and problem fixed... after that I sold it.. couldn't take it anymore.
That is one legendary cure Cesar, you should be rightly proud of yourself. I have the same problem Versys 650, almost certain it's the ignition switch though.
For future reference, I have had to splice a couple wires on my bike and I used a butt connector cutting off the plastic off the connector itself and use some shrink tubing around it. That way when you repair the connection with the butt connector just slide the shrink tubing over it and heat it and it'll basically seal itself. Just FYI. Ride safe. Peace.
@@llamasquad6974 no don't do that... there's a fuel pump fuse to control how much power goes to it... connecting directly to the battery might blow your fuel pump.
My bikes do the same and i cjeck the coil lift side coils and header is cold compared to right side if I touch these wire fuels pump is prime but check the blue box it's good then I move it fuel pump is priming.i don't know this was the issue or these both are different?
@@SWTMotoVlogs regarding the engine heat, if only one side is heating up and the other side cold, it could be that your engine isn't firing on the cold side... something isn't working. Could be the ignition coils, spark plugs, of even dirty or faulty injectors or the wiring that's connected to it... if the blue box isn't damaged like mine was, then the wires going to it are probably bad... you have to find where it is, cut it and then connect everything back together...
@@cesaroliveira3452 some time if I on the ignition fuel is not working so I touch and move blue box it's started working but after that I riding the bike suddenly bike is shutdown and started again automatically I don't it's the coils issue or fuel pump.

Had the same problem with myne, opening the little box now. Long story short, i ended up replacing the feul pump cuz it kept blowing my ecu fuse. After raplacing the feul pump it starts, but bike dies after running around a few 100meters. So fedup....
Can someone possibly show me the wiring connection of this feul pump. Maybe i switched the positive and negative around on the pump itself. Im not too clued up on the wiring for this pump, it just feels like i might have reconnected it incorrently.
There's probably a bad connection somewhere... you have to go thru all the wires related to the fuel pump and find it... there might be some corrosion at some point in the wires and it can't hold power to make the pump fire all the way...
@@cesaroliveira3452 I beleive there is a short somewhere because I remember before it fully wouldn’t start, if I sat on the bike a certain way I could get the pump to fire fully and I could start it with a little throttle added as well. Right now the bike will run on starting fluid but is getting absolutely 0 throttle response. It’s like there’s no gas getting to the cylinders, but when I test for power at the pump there is power
@@jtspider599 it seems like your problem is bigger than just a fuel pump then.. if there is throttle issues involved, there's something else.. I would check the forums online... there are forums specifically just for this bike...
@@cesaroliveira3452 I may have overstated this. I have replaced my fuel pump, the issue is the priming. I will look for a short for now, I may check fuel pressure as well. And the throttle does work like when using starting fluid I can rev the bike and it responds accordingly. But I cannot get proper flow to run on the gas in my tank.

So the contacts corroded and weren't making contact anymore huh,,,,, so if the fuse wasn't blown it wasn't a short curcuit it was a contact problem,,,,, 😂.😅..huhhhh...if you solder the wires together the jumper won't work because there is no jumper, the jumper has an amperage limit so your bike doesn't go on fire in the case of a short, if you removed the jumper any high current can now remain in the wire and cause a fire on your bike.😢😢😢...
Well, the fuel pump wires also go up to the fuel box. 10 or 15 amp fuse. So if there where to be an issue, it would blow that blue or red fuse up there...
@@cesaroliveira3452 Don't know, I was just looking over the wire diagram and I don't believe that Kawasaki would put jumpers in that location in vain, I think I'll find out what their current limit is and know for shure why they put those jumpers there,,,,,,it must have been a concern,,, since they know more then the comon everyday person....
5/21/23 WE GOT ACTION! I took the cover off, cut off the tape to expose the harness, jiggled the wire and the fuel pump came on...She fired right up! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!

@@dionjohnson-wq8wt I don't... you have to follow the pattern of how they connect together in the box. The box is almost like a fuse system, it's just there to comnect wire to wire.
I got one for ya... I have an 07 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R. When I turn the key to the "on" position I hear the fuel pump whirring and fuel comes out of the fuel hose (disconnected it to troubleshoot). However, when I crank the bike, no gas comes out. So essentially the pump gets electricity when I turn the key to the on position but doesn't when I try to crank it. Ideas?
Hey man, I'm no expert but first thing you should do if you haven't done so yet is to check all the fuses. Second would be to trace all the wires from the start buttom down to where they connect to the fuel pump wires in the main harness. There is for sure something going on down there... hope this helps. @@cesaroliveira3452 yea I literally just removed the entire harness. I see the 4 white wires (mine has 4 similar size wires and 1 thin white) that all wire together and has a heat crimp on it from the factory. It doesn't look burned or anything. My bike was a theft recover bought from auction. I was riding it for a few months when I thought the pump went out . Replaced the pump with no luck. I notice I have power to the fuel pump connector without the pump connected but as soon as I connect the pump I instantly lose power at the connector. I jus purchased a new harness since I've ripped into this one tracing wires with no luck. Hopefully that will fix my problem

So when you keyd on the bike would you get lights and no dash/speedo ? I am currently having the same problem if I can get some help it's a long comment. I took apart the bike to do valve cover gasket replace coils plugs and gasket I put everything back together attach battery turn key on ecu fuse blows no speedo hit Killswitch no pump prime it'll crank but won't start.
Hey man, so my only issue was with the fuel pump not working... no burnt fuses or anything. I would turn the key and there would be no fuel pump sound... are you sure you put everything back together properly? Take everything apart besides the valve cover and redo it. If it's blowing the fuse, it's because there is a short circuit somewhere

I'm just lost because lights come on and it cranks but ecu fuse blows soon as the key is turned with no dash or speedometer. I have to take apart the harness to check for a short but should I check the ecu fuse first with a multimeter ?
@@Apolloneek I don't understand too much about how the electrical part works in this case.. I would check around the handle bar and in front of the engine area. All areas with pinch points... follow the wires from the dash all the way down to the harness and check if they are not pinched or any damage in general

Recently I had to cut all the wires and solder them together due to some other issues... I don't get why that box is there anyway... cut the wires, twist them up real good and isolate them really well.

I have similar problem on z1000sx 2011, It will start and ride but than with no warning it will cut out, fuel pump stops working due to blown 15A fuse...
Have a 06’ Z750S that’s not priming… no ecu noise… so far I’ve changed the fuel pump, and waiting on the relays… I was heart broken when the pump didn’t fix the problem… I think I’m going to check my harness out today because I can’t go another week without my bike smfh
Yeah, check the harness man. Go with the fast, easy and cheap options first then the most advanced... what I did in the vid is as simple as opening it up and closing it with tape when your done... make it as neat and tight as possible for water not to get in there...

I don't man, I looked everywhere for it and couldn't find a name... just match the wires and connect them like I did... It will prevent the short circuit to happen again.
So was that fuse blown or did you just find that only one side had current. My friend is having the same issue on ninja 650 but his fuse isn't blown and we don't know how to check for current. I don't know if his bike has that blue box.

did you try connecting power straight to fuel pump with wires from battery if so did it prime???

I’m having a problem similar but mine just won’t prime fully. It does for 2 seconds instead of the normal 5 seconds or so

Hey man, it's a 2004. I think yours is a newer gen. They might have removed that box as a form of upgrade.

I'm having the same problem with my zx1400 bought a new fuel pump. There no power going to the fuel pump.
There are many things that can be causing the problem... after testing everything, that in the vid was my issue.
