ICH Element Djab Djab (Jab Jab)
In this short video, we explore the dynamic carnival traditions of Jouvert and Jab Jab in Grenada. Through interviews with local performers and cultural experts, we learn about the history and significance of these traditions, which have been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage elements by UNESCO. We see the body paint and black oil used by the participants, and hear the lively rhythms of the drums and other instruments used in the celebrations. We also gain insight into the cultural significance of Jouvert and Jab Jab as forms of social commentary and resistance, with roots in the history of enslaved Africans in Grenada. Through this video, we experience the energy and excitement of Jouvert and Jab Jab, and how they reflect the unique cultural identity of Grenada. We learn about the important role that these traditions play in preserving and promoting the island's cultural heritage, and how they continue to be cherished and celebrated by Grenadians and visitors alike.

    We should have a discussion on funding such project (archiving Grenadian Culturing & Records). Where the tourist who visit Grenada can go to explore I do think it will be a for taxi driver
