She saw something new every time she painted it. - And that's not psycho to you? - Uh, and why should we do anything more than once? Should I just smoke this one cigarette? Maybe we should only have sex once, if it's the same thing. Should we just watch...

The dialogue from Frank was painful. The writing on this show is awful. Idk how it got 11 seasons.

Fiona is a much better parental figure than Monica and Frank will ever be. And she didn't really hear the words 'thank you' a lot

I don’t want to sound like a wannabe film critic, but I don’t remember any acting performance as convincing or powerful as Emmy Rossum in this series.

Imagine your mother leaving and you have to become an adult at 9 years old because your father does nothing but drink and do drugs. Frank and Monica doomed Fiona from the start and Fiona was the one who raised her siblings and helped them become something. Truly a sad story.

I like how Fiona switches from animated and passionate when reminding Frank about everything she did for him and for her siblings, but when she starts talking about Monica, she becomes cold and detached. “She was a junkie…and a drunk”. Vs “I was nine and taking care of you!” Was a nice distinction about how Fiona viewed Monica vs the rest of her family

I love how they all agreed that she never loved them literally when she died. And if you want to use her mental condition to defend her. Ian has the same condition yet he was mostly self less and harmless when he was going through mania unlike Monica.

In this scene, Frank is seen having stormed out into the backyard, afterwards, Fiona came out after him. Frank: (groans) Fiona: What the fuck was that? Frank: It's not yours, Fiona. Fiona: What the fuck is wrong with you? Frank: Your mother. She was worried about you. All of you. She wanted to leave you something. Fiona: Meth?! Frank: Thats all she had! Fiona: (scoffs) Oh, Jesus. Frank: You don't know anything about your mother! Fiona: She was never here! Frank: She was a beautiful, crazy, fragile, wonderful woman! Fiona: She deserted us! Frank: She loved us! Fiona: That was love? Frank: Yes! Yes, it is! Fiona: Ok. Then why did she leave? Frank: You don't know what you're talking about! Fiona: If she loved us so much, why wasn't she here? Frank: She tried. She always tried! Fiona: She wasn't here! She was never fucking here! She left! I was nine! Nine, and taking care of you. Taking care of all of us. I was in 4th grade, dragging your ass, passed out, in from the yard, so you wouldn't freeze to death. Staying up all night with Ian when he had chickenpox. I washed Carl's shitty diapers! I picked lice out of Liam's hair! And I was here when Debbie got her first period. Not Monica. Me. And never you, you were too fucking loaded. She was a junkie, and a drunk. Frank: Enough. Fiona: She didn’t love me. She didn’t love you. She didn’t give a shit about anyone but herself. Frank: (voice quivers) Please..... Fiona: I'm glad she's dead. At least now, she can't fuck us over anymore. After all this, Fiona goes back in the house, leaving Frank out there in the cold.

It's like, I guess if Fiona didn't want to say it, but she felt like she had to, because, despite all this c***, Monica put them through. She was still fiona's mother, and it probably pained her to say it

1:04 “IIII WAS HERE when Debby got her first period, NOT MONICA!” That hits deep because Fiona wouldn’t have had a mother figure there for her when she got her first period. It’s a traumatic experience for a young girl. Her saying that tells me she was absolutely terrified when she got her first period and she had no one to turn to but herself💔

This clip is the best acting I’ve seen and it hits home and unfortunately this is very much a reality to a lot of people single parents that completely fall apart and the oldest child takes care of their siblings. Painful scene but powerful acting

I remember the time Frank told the kids I think how he met Monica. He was in college she was asking for help came into his car cause someone was assaulting her. From then on he let Monica drive their lives into the mess that it has become. He loved Monica but he never had the strength to support her into a positive direction. We can't fully conclude that Monica never loved Frank and their children. But she's too messed up and mentally ill that it just doesn't allow her to show love, or love that has follow through. I think the greeting cards does show she has some form of connection to the kids or tries to. But her being an unmedicated bipolar and a drug addict just isn't allowing her to be a functional regular person.

I didn't understand Fiona until now. My mother's fucking useless and abandoned me not as a child but as an adult. Which is worse because in a fucked up way she spewed this pre-conceived notion that she'll "always be there for my sister's and I" fuck you mom!

Bob wasn’t the real problem. Monica was. In season 2 when Fiona confronts Bob, you can tell how Monica also manipulated her. I’m not saying she was any better but Bob seemed to regain some form of sanity when Monica left with Frank. Monica was a storm and virus. The only good character trait i respected about Bob, was that she cut her loose. Monica was batshit
