How to fix a botched smartkey rekeying. Put the new key in, and withdraw it slowly while jiggling it until it turns the lock. Then rekey, making sure to fully insert key.

Cheapest Camber Gauge Ever!

Camber gauge made out of scrap wood and free iphone app. Total cost- 0$. Didn't need adjustment when alignment was professionally checked a year later. Made it 60,000 miles and tires wore evenly. 2012 Kia Sorento spark plug changeout after 100k miles. The same engine is used in many Kia and Hyundai cars. When I did the 200k plug changeout, I used a magnet beside my socket to catch the nut I dropped the first time. Tried to change lock cylinder without taking the interior panel off. I could not get anything thin enough between the cylinder and the lock housing to release the retainer clip.

Showing how to change door or sleeper locks on a 1998 379 Peterbilt. This should also work for most any other big truck.
Shit my key broke, what can I do?
Hopefully you have a way to get into your truck. If so, just open up the door panel and change the lock. If not, i would say drill it- maybe 5/16” bit? Or pick/locksmith another door lock.

What if your key broke
Thank you for keeping it short and to the point. I wiggled the key as instructed and the key eventually turned! I then inserted the Smart Key tool and was able to reset the lock. I seen a lot of other videos where they take the whole lock apart in order to reset the middle piece and I was really dreading having to do that.
Thanks, I’m way too lazy to take it apart if I can just jiggle the key.

No idea, just google searched at the time and bought a set that had a picture that looked like mine. I see a set from someone for 89.00 . vehiclesecurityinnovators.com/product/peterbilt-ignition-two-doors-one-baggage-door-and-one-sleeper-lock-set-unbranded-aftermarket-replacement-part/ That is almost 3x my pre pandemic set.

dunno, company iphone, cost me zero.
I read that KIA recommends spark plugs change at about 105,000 miles. It's also probably a good idea to change PCV valve when doing this procedure.
at 200k now, will put that on the to-do list, thanks

i used an app called "ez level" that doesn't seem to be in the app store anymore for iphone. Any app that will do tenths should work fine, so long as you zero the gauge. Looks like one called "bubble level for iphone" would work.

Was able to change the ignition cylinder this way, but couldn't get my shim between the cylinder and the tumbler for the door lock.
can you tell me what the firing order is . getting misfire code 2,4,6 misfire on those cylinders . 3.3L v6 sorento.
Oddly enough, its 1-2-3-4-5-6. The cylinder numbering for the front bank from left to right is 2,4,6. The back bank from left to right is 1-2-5.

@@streetglide_24c62 I bought the cylinder but I was unable to free it from the exterior section. I pushed the ring in but I was unable to get it to turn to the left counterclockwise. They are frozen. I have the correct key.
@@antmoundlogistics what are you working on? My 2007 379 I replaced the whole lock cylinder it’s held in by a u clip took about 5 mins to replace.

I think it was about 3 hours going slow with filming. About 1.5 hours to open up, and same to close up.
