This rose is spectacular in late spring /early summer, the blooming period lasts for at least a month and it has a huge amount of flowers that have a good vase life, but that's about it. It gets some flowers in late summer/autumn, but not as many as in early summer. At least for me, it is not a good rebloomer.

We bought the rose grafted. For reference, our Giardina isn't planted in full sun, she doesn't get morning sun all that much. This rose would do even better in a full sun spot. This year, on the 29th of April the rose was full of buds and you could see the pink on them, on 11th of May it had a few blooms here and there, mostly buds and now on the 9th on June it is in full bloom, but still has buds that need to open. So you have at least a month of blooms.

I forgot to mention that the rose is grafted, we bought it this way.

Thank you! I use Osmocote slow - release fertilizer every spring. Tantau has alot of nice roses, I recently saw online Green Island Maleica Rose being sold as a cut flower and it looks unreal.

It has a nice fragrance. It is very healthy and the flowers last for a long time in a vase.

@@FrenchGarden Tantau lists this rose as 'overwhelmingly fragrant' with five stars.. and you're saying it merely 'smells nice' ;) ? I guess its hype on their behalf.

I have Clematis planted in full sun with bricks at the base of the plant to provide shade in the summer and I have Clematis planted in semishaded spots of the garden. I also have a Clematis Alpina that only gets morning sun. I plant them in deep holes and use normal garden center soil. This Clematis was planted in march 2023. The planting hole is mostly deep and we use soil bought from the garden center. We have clay soil, so this is a must. This Clematis is planted in a semishaded spot, it doesn't get any morning sun. I fertilize my Clematis with osmocote every spring and the leaves are usually healthy. This Clematis is planted close to my climbing roses. Last year I had lots of aphids on my rose, but nothing on the Clematis. I did spray the rose with an insecticide after I saw how many aphids there were. This year I had no aphids or bugs. The roses are in full bloom and the Clematis are also starting to bloom. We also have fruit trees in the garden and those are an aphid magnet in spring, so that could be a cause why we didn't get pests on our clematis so far. Thank you! It's quite a young Clematis, so this year a gave it a small trim in the second half of march, when I could see the new growth. I mostly cut off anything that seemed dead. I plan to give it another prune in june. This Clematis only gets the double flowers on old growth, so you can't prune too much in spring. I've heard some people recommend you only prune it once, after it flowers. I plan to try this next year.

That's the only hot pink hyacinth in our garden, it does stand out next to the pale pink.

Indeed, I actually planted 2 'Eucalyptus cinerea' last year because I wasn't sure if they would survive winter. But both plants are ok and I even got to trim a few branches to bring inside in a vase. I have them planted in full sun.

At 1;10 I'm filming the 'Anemone Black' hellebore, which isn't a true black colour. At 1;40 I'm filming the 'Helleborus Ellen Red'.

I want this Clematis to cover our shed and we are still debating if we should buy and install a trellis or use some wire to guide it. Those wooden stakes did the job of keeping it off the ground until now. I'm sorry about your white Clematis, I also tend to use them to cover the fence. You could try growing on that fence the type 3 Clematis that need a full trim every year. Thank you for the lovely comment!

@@FrenchGarden Thanks for that idea. I will look those up. I love the idea of your Clematis growing up and onto the shed. I also follow this other incredible gardener, Deb Silver and she used bamboo shoots to give her Mandevilla something sturdy to grow up. The bamboo seemed pretty sturdy. Maybe you could use some twine if you can hammer unto the shed. You have a really beautiful garden. I love the variety too!

Hello! Giardina should do well in partial shade . My rose doesn't get any morning sun at all and about midday the sun starts reaching this rose.
