In 2 Timothy 4:1-5, the Apostle Paul charges Timothy to remain vigilant in his ministry, urging him to "preach the word," "be prepared," and "endure hardship" as a faithful servant of Christ. In our current times, Paul's message rings even more true. As followers of Christ, there are key areas in our lives where we must stay alert and aligned with God's purpose. To me following a set of rules is religion. Like the rich young ruler. He thought he had followed the ten commandments and that entitled him. And he probably gave himself great latitude in his rules.

When the “church” makes it about $$ & repetition, just merely going through the motions, it’s no longer about knowing Jesus but about filling the seats to make their quota. Ugh, I experienced that with a big church, I usually left with a feeling of inadequacy & condemnation & no closer to Christ! Thank you, Pastor Andy, many blessings to you & your family! 💖

My understanding is that the church is us (Christian people). But yes, if you say "church" I automatically think of someplace to go to. 🙃
