If mist free, why the need for a maxvac?
I went from running a WEN brand sander to a Dewalt with a ridgid shop vac… I got the Planex 2 and ct36ac last week and my god it’s a dream to use. Truly next level performance and, for me, well worth the $3500 CAN price tag. I don’t sand drywall full time. I’m a carpenter so I pretty much to it all but this setup is still worth it for my business. Going to pay for itself in the next month easily.

I've heard some ppl saying it leaves swirls / grooves. what is the best set up / settings?
It can if the compound is very soft or suction settings are too high. I like to use an interface foam pad to reduce pressure on compounds to give the best finish.

Nick, how important is the pump in spraying mist free? If you pair the product, gun/tip, heated hose with a graco mkV is it gonna do the same thing?

Best airless spray system in the world? … what Wagner??? 😂😂😂😂😂 … yeah for D.I.Y If it was that good it would readily available There’s only one reason you can hardly get your hands on one .. and that’s cause they ain’t that good Go for Graco or titan… best by a mile My uncle who’s a retired builder uses Wagner … and I told him it was shit as well
Well considering wagner own titan and the titan machines are all just wagners but in red. Maybe do some research before commenting.

@@w1ldcard743 Well this isn't a DIY unit lol. It's a £9,000 mistfree spray system (created in 2004). I'd say it's better than Graco as Graco haven't invented the mistfree spray system. Do a bit of research on the Nespri-TEC system. You'll be amazed. Wagner are serious in the professional game too.
@@rushmoorpaintinganddecorat1493 I have had a quick look .. for Wagner they do look decent but my concern would be if you had any issues after you bought the system! … they are hard to get hold of, and with Graco at least I know their customer service is top quality I ain’t saying you don’t know anything .. I’ve looked at your work, I think ur a decent decorator! You use some decent products … but I’m not sure about the system However I do appreciate the heated hose and overspray reduction … that’s something I think Graco should jump on … as Graco machines are high end! But for some reason I’ve never seen them do a heated hose yet or try and manage overspray better
@@w1ldcard743 No issues at all, it's a very well built system, the diaphragm pumps are very good quality and last a long time. Mines 11 years old and still running like new. Diaphragm pumps generally last longer and require less maintenance than piston pumps. Parts are easy to get as well so no problem there.
Did you use halft primer as the mist coat? Only ever used it on trim. What’s it like? Very interested!

The planex 2 for sure. It can also have a foam pad as well so it doesn't depress onto the surface so aggressively meaning you can get a better finish on compounds.

Not necessarily wasted but just need enough to fill hose and enough to spray what needs to be sprayed

Do you need to have the festool extractor to use this? Or can you hook it up to any vacuum and plug
Other extractors can be used.

Hi Colin. Thank you. I got it from German ebay as they don't make this specific unit anymore. The newer version is the wagner sf33 Nespri-Pro. It's currently airless with heated hose for mistfree spraying with caparol nespri paints. But am thinking of adding the wafner ab100 compressor for air assisted with woodwork.
@@rushmoorpaintinganddecorat1493 thanks mate I wondered cause I couldn't find it over here on a quick Google search. Been using airless on new builds but can't do woodwork because most are still using oil and that will end up to messy , but looking at air assisted looks hardly any overspray
@@colinbrazier8836 They are out there but rare as rocking horse 💩 so have to keep an eye on it 24/7. The Wagner SF23 plus aircoat would be a great investment as you have all bases covered then. Airless for emulsion and masonry work then with the AB100 on it you can switch to the air assisted mode and do your woodwork. I'm planning on running the heated hose for my paint line with the air assisted when I get it set up so I'm get benefits of everything. All a lot of money but worth it I hope 🙏

This ceiling and a smaller ceiling next door were sprayed together and about 9 litres were used in total.
Be sure to check your video setting (little cog on the video screen) to ensure you're watching it in the highest quality possible (1080P)
Great video mate, I am not sure if mud is softer in Canada than it is in the UK but Festool easy was unusable. Well, at least not on a professional level even with an all-purpose compound let alone finishing. Mainly because of a circular motion and the suction opening would carve into the compound just enough so you can't see it with light but once it's primed you are in for a surprise but I loved your review, it covered what I wanted to hear, nicer finish than the previous model so will give it a try and will write a review later on how it goes for fellow Canadians. I am hoping it can be pushed for a good level 4 finish.

Thank you. Lower spray pressure, No thinning of material and reduced overspray. With Caparol Nespri paint it is virtually mist free.

Is the granite adhesive sander specifically made for the New festool planed 2 or it is a standardised material you buy of any counter that fits any Sander.
You could use it on another 225mm wall sander with hook and loop attachment but the holes may not line up.

@@chocolatepuddingpant It is a fine finish sander so if you're using the right grit abrasive it will leave perfect finish for painting. I use 120/180 grit on previously painted surfaces and 320 on joint compound/fillers.
Great review! One thing you didn't mention, does the head of the sander rotate 180 degrees like the Mirka?
