So very lovely! Found you on Instagram and my family comes from Ireland two generations back. This song reminds me of my son, who miraculously is more Irish than I. His heart is there and he is passionate about its history and pain and beauty. This song evokes that call to a home he feels there.

Why do you choose irish to sing in?

I loved this! I have some Welsh ancestry but didn't know about all of the beauty and magic associated with it. Now I have a starting point. Thank you both so much! I just started following Mhara's UA-cam and Instagram too. :)

some of the nice fairies were most likely the pre-celtic populations of britain.. it seems to be the same story everywhere (the little people who got overrun by later arrivals). same with giants.. we have stories of human females feeling sorry for their killed giant husbands.. obviously at that point only lone males were what was left of the neanderthal gene pool (yes they still exist, i think everyone´s like 2% giant). everytime i see the word "human" in our folklore i immediately go ok not that old then! "behave like a human" (oh, compared to what..) when i see fairy or earth spirit suddenly i´m interested.. old europe, tell me more, how did the fairies worship the moon :) (seriously, how did they, it´s not super moon, tell me it´s not super moon)

Hello! Singing to my ancestors... I admit that scares me. I wouldn’t know what to tell them. You don’t know how I admire that you can do this. Singing to my ancestors... I can try. Your voice is a wisp fire in a forest at dusk that lights the way. I close my eyes and see vertical stones covered with moss and lichens, there is a stream, thick trees and so old to become gnarled, there is this fatuous fire that shines in front of me. There are figures among the stones, they give me their backs and look to the sky: the moon is full. Your singing is powerful, I allow myself to download it and use it in meditation in a moment of calm and peace. Thank you very much.
