NEW Car! Toyota Celica GTS Tsunami Edition

Went to AZ not long ago to pick up this Toyota Celica GTS Tsunami edition. Subscribe to follow along with the build! Follow on Instagram! @carbois.ig
I cut a connection on the wiring harness and it removed the daytime running feature for my celica
Where can I get cheap short shifter for gts
MWR has a good one for $100
I love to keep it stock if I owned one.
With me, the projector lens made the LEDs not bright and almost impossible to see at night, 😢
This car needs coilovers ASAP!! it looks really bad sitting that high
Thanks for the video, managed to save loads of time fitting my short shifter kit. 👍
dude your Celica Tsunmai edition looks really really good!!!!
Man really went off the grid, we need more Celica content.
なんでss-1なの?
What happen to the high beam vid
Old model but still a nice car. I like it though❤
Need a driving video
Where you bought it? can you pass link?
He said monkey wrench racing, I did get it from ebay I will try put it on tomorrow 😮💨
Nobody uses a t shifter....Why not its very positive feel and they are super heavy....
wheels look massive on that car and it badly needs to be lowered.
Thank you so much. That bolt on the side of the headlight assembly had me stumped. Other videos just showed them whipping the lights right out, but the way you showed in detail how to access that one bolt was a life saver.
I went to put led bulbs in my celica, ever since then I've not been getting light on the road, the bulbs are pointing straight ahead and the adjustment screw doesn't budge them
I got rid of this Hood Scoop ,went back the Stock Scoop just looks better to me 2000 GTS
Really nice video. Love your Celica. i ordered some stuff from monkeywrenchracing for my Celica and they put inside sour patches which I thought was great!!!!
Where did you get the headlights from?
You're a godsend bro, thank you for making this video.
How exactly did you remove it, would like if you can show how you did it
I drive one, bought it brand new in 2005, black and red interior! It’s a special edition just like me 😅
Love your car’s trim brotha. I have an 03 gts
Mate your celica and the channel generally is awesome! Well done! 2zzge🤟
What ever happened with the weighted knob?
Someday I will get one
Soon, Luis
Still nothing?@@luiszrodriguez1822
Where did you get the side markers
Hi, I wanted to ask where you got the black turn signal light assembly ? I’m looking every where online and I can’t find them, I really like this look
Couldn’t get it to work followed directions to a TEE but no luck
Hey i follow all your instructions and everything works fine except when they are on daylight mode, the passenger side halo doesn't work and it does work on the high beams, any idea what could be?
Damn this video was well made. I love your Celica btw I’m hoping to get a gts myself soon
U got a nice car . Don’t go to the car wash and use the brush.
Lol, the only reason I do is because the paint is already chipping all over and it saves time. once I get it repainted you can bet that thing is gonna be babied though!
A few things I want to comment: Damn those wheels looking clean and not exaggerated! And I liked the video´s chilly atmosphere. Lol I can´t sleep so watching this atm. The celica´s engine bay sure isn´t the most spacious, don´t you agree? :D Well, 1.8l was the only engine choice after all, so that must explain it. I have the celica 01´ t-sport (170k km driven) with upgraded lift bolts that aren´t prone to breaking and... uh I guess that´s pretty much it. But the interesting thing is that I am attempting to make it run on ethanol... tomorrow is the day!
Haha thanks man! and yeah, unfortunately there isn't much swapping potential for this car, strictly because of how small and tight the engine bay is. You can get away with MAYBE another boosted 4 banger, like the 2.3 l Mazdaspeed, but that's a huge maybe. Best to just upgrade the rods, pistons, and engine cap to make the power you want I think. Let me know how ethanol goes! Did you have to do a custom flex fuel conversion?
@@carboys568 Yeah, glad to announce the fact that I love the high revs so much! I think the exact rev limit is 8250 on my model. Of course the strict engine bay dimensions help keep the car´s overall dimensions in check, for added sportiness. The engine is light itself, so that is a benefit too. Perhaps it is the perfect engine for this car! The flex fuel conversion has not been problem-free because of a simple problem. There is kind of a "ring" around the place you want to plug it in, preventing you from using the basic adapters and "opening" the pins for the connection, at least that is how I understood it. I brought it to a tuner and he showed me the unfortunate surprise. But now a special tool has been ordered, specifically for t-sports. Damn, they really do not want us to mess around with it, do they? :D The fuel injectors should be plenty for the conversion though, and of course ethanol loves high compression ratios, or was it something else it loves? Uh, I am pretty sure it is the ratios. I may add that when I have a surplus of cash, I will do a standalone ECU and make a few extra horses with the ethanol´s benefits. Maybe sport intake and exhaust too. I have heard you can quite easily surpass 200 hp. You just have to give it more air and let more gasses out :D But as for now, I only seek fuel cost benefits from the conversion, as it is much cheaper here in Finland. Even when you take into account the increased fuel consumption. I will report back here how the conversion goes and if my car explodes lmao!
@@teme5529 When I was looking into ethanol I ran into exactly the same thing you just mentioned with the alcohol-sensitive ring that causes the issues.I do really wish they made the car a bit more tuner-friendly, but that obviously would have let the intended reliability slip lol. Sounds like a good plan though man! A standalone ecu is a MUST if you'll be tuning the car. Are you going PFC? My plans are a little different but not completely! I'm thinking some suspension, PFC with Tune, and at that point I'd bite the bullet and get a turbo kit with forged internals for reliability. That's a ways down the road though! Still glad to hear another person is working on these babies! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
@@carboys568 Yeah, I have actually barely scraped the surface of the world of tuning, so I had to google the pfc, lol. So I must say I have not looked into it, what standalone ecu brand would do well. But I know it will be costly. Gotta be ready to spend 3000€+ And yes, when I seek power, I need the standalone ecu! Toyota ecu is angry and will erase all changes. :D And be ready to be spending some cash if you are going for reinforced internals, I guess. Have you considered the benefits/downsides of mechanical charging? Note that this is only my opinion, but the essence of the car is instant power. Turboing would eliminate the lift kicking in hard and immediately. The power curve would be soft. Also the turbo-build would consist of many components, and reducing the compression ratio would probably be a must, I guess. I think that if I want to charge it, I will go the supercharge-route. I think it is more reliable and simpler design. However, when money is not an issue, reinforced internals should do the trick. Turbo won´t be an issue anymore at that point! It makes more power than any other method! And yeah man, glad to talk about our cars like this! It is always useful to share tips and information.
@@carboys568 And btw I gotta ask what kind of issues about the ring other than not fitting? I mean damn, tomorrow is the installation day so I gotta know if I missed something about it :D
Scotty Kilmer is proud of you!
Haha I bet!
he actually hates the GT-S model because of the 2zz. He thinks the oil pump and oil sump problems killed the celica
*BRAKE upgrade* Equivalent model year Avensis 17" or 19" front discs and calipers are a straight swap - just need a slight alteration/cutting of the back plates. 17" are same diameter as Celica originals but the Avensis caliper/pad size provides a greater swept area. Standard Celica front brakes are utterly pathetic for such a spritely vehicle.
Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely look into it. and yes, the car does have a good stock stopping distance, but if I'm planning on boosting it then I'll absolutely need new brakes!
Could you splice the halos into the lead wire for the hi beams before the connector on the factory wiring and onto the lead hi beams on the headlight housing itself?
I don't know about connecting it to the housing per see, but I suppose if you wanted to you could absolutely do it that way! just keep in mind your power levels and if they'll trip any circuits or fuses.
Are you going to lower your Celica? coilovers? let us know, which way you go… great Celica content… btw, I have a 05 GTS stock besides invidia exhaust I put on… I’m looking to do 18s like u and a kaminari wing , want to go lower too, heard D2 coilovers are good… ✌️
For sure I'm going to lower it! That's coming next actually. I'm saving up for teins but I'll have to look into D2s and see what they're about! And thank you I appreciate that a TON! 🙏🙏
@@carboys568 awesome, let us know what u end up doing to lower your Celi…
@@BtcNgU WIll do bro!
Does this process still work on a celica gt?
I believe it does, I don't think that toyota used any different parts for the headlights or bulb sizes between the GTS or GT version!
my Celica is half tsunami half TRD I use both OEM parts all Toyota no after market.. TRD front end. tsunami side skirts hood scoop spoiler are all tsunami.and rear bumper.yes I do have the TRD wing but did not rock it this summer
haha at least you have options! That's one of the best things about these cars is that you can customize them to your liking! Thanks for watching bro!
The editing on the b-roll was incredible! New to your channel. I bought a GT-S a couple months ago and I'm slowly building it out. I had Carl from Celica Customz do some work for me recently. Dude is a genius. Your car is looking great bro!
Huge thanks bro I appreciate that a TON! It was a good amount of work and I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's awesome man, what you got planned for the Celica??
@@carboys568 Absolutely, you're welcome buddy! Will soon be installing my Tein coilovers and putting 18" Enkei Rajins.. already put some racing seats and new smoked headlights.. will eventually get the body work done and probably get the car wrapped in a matte dark Gray.💪
@@fabfishing7422 Hell yeah! I was looking at Enkei raijins before I found these wedssports too! I bet they'd look dope so I'm curious to see how they turn out! Coilovers are what I'm planning next too, hoping they give me a somewhat comfortable ride at least for a daily lol. Can't wait to see it man, sounds awesome!
Just found your channel! Subscribed. From one Celica owner to another Great stuff ! Love the wheels. Excellent intro too. 🤘😎🤘
Aw hell yeah Imma hit up your channel too lol! Celicas gotta stick together 😎🙏 thanks for the support!

I have 15" but minor ET
15 inch Diameter I hope lol! what's your offset?
@@carboys568 wheels: GMP 15" offset (ET) 35 Original 16" offset 39, if exactly remember...
@@omyblaster1995 if I remember right from my research, +35 offset is the perfect balance on this car, good work! 👏
@@carboys568 Yes, losing grip when cornering (from 16 "to 15") I regained stability with the outermost wheels 😉
@@omyblaster1995 nice! Do you have lower profile tires on as well?
Really nice wheels ☺️
Thank you my friend! I appreciate it 🙏
Let me know how y'all like the intro and the wheels! Thanks for watching!
Good Job, keep doing this
Thank you! More good stuff coming soon!
Awesome great video ✌️🇯🇵🎌🏁🏁🏁🏁
Nice Vid mate. Your rear tail lights are awesome too. Where did you purchase it please?
Thanks man I appreciate it! The taillights are actually stock and came with the car as part of the tsunami package! I'm sure you can find some similar aftermarket ones online that have clear housing!
Beautiful car!!
Thank you my friend! I enjoy seeing your 2zz builds too! I'm looking forward to the turbo GTS!
Lying on the ground close to the car when you release the jack pressure as you did is an extremely bad idea.
I understand that lol. Unfortunately it wasn't the typical 4 ton jack like most people are used to. It was a 2 ton travel jack which couldn't even get the car high enough for me to put the jack stands underneath without blocking them. The more I jacked up that small lever, the more it also slides further underneath the car. I'll have to buy a bigger one someday 🤷♂️
I 💓 Celica T23
Thank you! It's definitely not a car you see much of anymore!
@@carboys568 I have a black VVTi, is like a jewel for me! 😁
@@omyblaster1995 awesome! Any mods you'd recommend?
@@carboys568 My Celica is completely original except for the Ragazzon duplex exhaust😎
@@omyblaster1995 Ragazzon duplex exhaust?! I've never heard of that one but I'll check it out! It sounds exotic lmao!
