Here is the place to learn the history of spirituality from ancient times to today. By excellent, clear and concise teaching I'll take you back to the earliest days of recorded religions and philosophies. Beginning with Judaism and Christianity videos will cover the diverse groups who began these faiths. Plus other world religions and the wisdom of the mystics are explored. Here are their teachings in their own words, I present scholarly research in an easy-to-understand manner.

Christian Universalism-Can everyone be saved?
Christian Uniiversalists believe the work of God to bring people to salvation does not end with death. Also, that it is God's will that all things be reconciled to him in the end. No power opposing this divine agenda is strong enough to stop this process.

Minimalism Is it a Spiritual Movement
I *loved* this video. As a few commenters below have already said, the world can be too beautiful a place to be "inherently" evil. I always did struggle with that. I preferred many things about Valentinus' approach to Christianity, and I think that if he were alive now he would see that there is much spiritual soil that is starving for nutrients. For the record, there are Valentinian Gnostic lineages which are still around today. I was initiated (Baptized + Chrismated) within Ecclesia Gnostica, under Bishop Stephan Hoeller. Ecclesia Gnostica has attained Apostolic Succession from many denominations. Still kickin'!
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I am aware of your group Ecclesia Gnostica, under Bishop Stephan Hoeller. and have read some of Bishop Hoeller's writing. Very interesting.
The final salvation plan ❤ 1 Corinthians 15:22-28 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Thanks for watching and sharing.
Malachi 3:2-4 But who can endure the day of his coming?Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a REFINER'S FIRE or launderer's soap. Mark 9:49 For EVERYONE will be salted with fire. Proverbs 17:3 The crucible is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart. 1Corinthians 3:15 If ANY man's work be burned up, he shall suffer loss yet be saved as through fire. Luke 3:6 And ALL flesh shall see the salvation of God. Isaiah 45:23 for EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue will pledge ALLEGIANCE to me. Psalm 145:14 The Lord upholds ALL who fall and raises up ALL those bowed down. Psalm 145:8-10 ALL the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and ALL the families of the nations shall worship before you. ALL those who go down to the dust (death) shall bow before you. Mathew 25:46 and these shall go away into age-abiding correction and the righteous into age-abiding life. Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible.

*"Can everyone be saved?"* Not to put too sharp a point on it but, no, they can't. ✴ _...the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to_ [eternal] _life, and those who find it are few._ (Matthew 7: 14, ESV)
Thanks for watching and sharing your scripture with us. I think I have made it clear in my couple of videos on Christian Universalism that there are many people who disagree with them. Although Universalists are aware of this, they still believe that God has made a way for everyone.
@@patpryor *"Thanks for watching and sharing* --your-- *that scripture with us."*
The Bible says that there are two gates, a narrow one and a wide one. And only the narrow one leads to immortality. Universalism claims that _both_ gates lead to immortality. Can you see the contradiction there? ✴ _13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to_ [eternal] _life, and those who find it are few._ (Matthew 7: 13-14, ESV)

@@patpryor Here is the problem as I see it, Pat. Universalism hangs on a number of Scriptures which I readily agree appear to support the doctrine. @@IsaacNussbaum Perhaps a FYI would help. My channel is basically a history channel. I have videos about dozens of branches of Christianity. It is not my purpose to defend or promote any one of them. I just try to present their history and beliefs. I believe I have done that for Christian Universalism and I understand fully your point of view. Thank you Pat for your work in Christ. I am a Bible Student and I can tell you that there is now way Pastor Russell would have ever approved of the JW organization. Pastor Russell hated the idea of organization’s. He fought against this idea until his dying breath. It’s (likely) one of the reasons he dispelled Rutherford from the Bible Students before he passed. Pastor Russell stood firmly on the fact that each individual Christian only answers to Christ 1 Corinthians 11:3 not an organization or Pastor. And that the Ransom is for all mankind. 1 Timothy 2:6 A heavenly calling now for the Church class. And a 1000 year earthly kingdom for all who have ever lived. That was not part of the Church. A chance to be reconciled back to God. The JW’s have went away from both these teachings. Pastor Russell would have never been apart of anything but these wonderful truths. The following paragraphs are from a Bible Student friend of mine that wrote about this a while back. I will post a link to Pastor Russell’s actual teachings at the end of the post for anyone who is interested. God Bless CHARLES T. RUSSELL was absolutely NOT the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses. We don't worship this man but we DO highly respect him for showing us the beauty of God's true character, showing us where the scriptural doctrinal foundations are in the Bible and opening up, more than we could ever imagine, the incredible character of our precious Lord Jesus and his relationship of unselfish love and admiration for his father. Our Father. Those that haven't carefully read his Studies in the Scriptures completely, will never know exactly what I mean. Some have never read even the Divine Plan of the Ages, but may ignorantly criticize him, listen to evil false reports about him or unfounded misrepresentations about him, even jump to the inaccurate conclusion that Bible Students worship this man as an idol of sorts; but should we expect anything less from the Adversaries strategy of deceit. Didn't they call Jesus "Beelzebub"? Didn't Jesus say "Don't be surprised if they call any of you the same?" "Cult leader," etc. It's all part of carrying the cross and suffering with our dear Master. So let people read what they choose. I personally have been GREATLY spiritually energized, enlightened and grown in Christlikeness through the help of this very humble man. I've personally talked with people that have walked, talked and worked with him. His writings pointed to over 5,000 scriptures in topical Bible Study that has helped thousands become better Christians. Praise God! He ALWAYS pointed to Jesus and told people to follow Jesus and not himself. Ephesians. 4:11-15. Praise Jesus too! Let the scoffers scoff in ignorance. Bottom line. It really only matters what God thinks. The truth will prevail in the end. No more than Martin Luther founded all the churches that came from HIS reformatory work! Pastor Russell died over 15 years before "Judge" Rutherford moved in and changed A LOT of CTR's doctrinal writings, THEN changed its name to Jehovah's Witnesses; named in 1931. CTR died in 1916. You'll notice the publications went from Zions Watch Tower and Herald of Christ's Presence to The Watch Tower. Theres a difference. During that interval about three-fourths of the original Christians who were following this reformatory work, LEFT the Judges new group take-over because many BIG doctrines were changed like The Ransom, Israel, Christ's Return and Justification. These are facts, both of my grandparents use to talk personally with Pastor Russell. People needed to ride on his reputation having sermons in 1500+ newspapers weekly, with 15,000,000 readers and the pastor of some 1200 congregations! Probably 50+ some Christian groups came out of his original writing and the JW's were only one of those offshoot groups. In the book, Where Else but Pittsburg, by George Swetnam, 1958, says that Pastor Russell was even more widely known than Andrew Carnegie! CTR although a very humble man, giving up his personal fortune of money, and writing over 50,000 pages of religious investigation, is one of the most misrepresented and falsely accused saints of the past 300 years. He wrote the series, Studies in the Scriptures, no longer studied in JW meetings! www.mostholyfaith.com/ Find all of Pastor Russell’s writings here.

Church of Bosnia is mentioned alredy in 4th centruy, from archives, Slavs (Croatian and Serbian tribed) came to Balkan peninsula first in 7th century, they were part of the Polish/Bohemian Slavs peoples... Bosnian Church accepted/Saved Bogomils from Bulgaria who were attacked and cleansed there when Orthodoxy started spreading.. Bosnian Church sticked to teachings of "Arius" who believed that Jesus is a Son of God, as Jesus himself said and talked, from Aramaic (first) Bible ever, Language of Jesus, the Roman priests exiled him to the Illyricum province, to Bosnia. And Bosnian Church also accepted Wulfila, first Gothic Priest, who travel to Bosnia at same time and translated the first Bible to Gothic Language, which also is same belief and teachings of Priest Arius. Old Bosnian peoples are Gothic/Illyrian. When the slavs came, we started mixing a bit. Thats why most of Bosnians turned to Islam, because they didnt accept Orthodoxy teachings or Roman Catholic, and Islam also believes that Jesus is Son of God, Jesus (ISA) is messiah in Koran, AL-MASIH. Not all Bosnians became muslims tho, many other religions too, and they are Bosnians, not serbs or croats. Thats the true history, also all noted by professionals in the area long time ago alredy.. Revelation 20 says, "Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before [c]God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second [d]death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 14:9 says, "Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends FOREVER AND EVER; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

@@patpryor 1st John 5:9 says, "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does NOT BELIEVE GOD has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." This says, BELIEVING IN Christ you have eternal life. NOT believing in Christ is calling God a liar, for God says you must believe in Christ for eternal life. You as a universalist say everyone is saved. You, according to this scripture are calling God a liar. This verse destroys Universalism, because it PLAINLY says, "...this is the testimony: that God has given us ETERNAL LIFE, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God DOES NOT HAVE LIFE." This clearly says, NOT all will inherit eternal life, but ONLY those who believe on the Son. You, in your false Doctrine of UNIVERSALISM are calling God a LIAR.

Universal salvation requires that you smash Person into Nature. Platonism does not make a distinction between Nature and Person both in God and in human anthropology. The Chrisitan Church refuted Platonism during the first Millenium and Universalism was refuted as well for this reason. The doctrine of recapitulation does not mean universal salvation. Recapitulation refers to the fact that all men will be raised from the dead because Christ defeated death by assuming universal human nature. Human Nature is universal. Each person is individual and particular. Christ was consubstantial with us in our humanity. But Christ did not assume or identify with every individual person in His incarnation. All men will be resurrected on the basis of Christ defeating death in the human nature Christ assumed. But each person will be judged eternally on the basis of their individual mode of willing in this life. This is why Origen was condemned. Origen taught the heresy of absolute divine simplicity which is the error of smashing nature into person. The distinction between nature and person is important because it preserves the principle of individuation. Each person makes individual and consequential choices for good and evil. All men will be raised from the dead, but all men will experience the afterlife differently based on the judgements they receive for their choices in this life. The only way you can believe in Universalism is to smash Nature into Person which is to fall into Platonism. Many heresies in church history revolve around the confusion of nature and person.

Small correction at 10:43 . Animals are killed for dairy, eggs and other byproducts which is a sorrowful fact many people aren’t cognizant of. Hence the reason why those against (animal) violence tend to be vegans! Cows are mammals they require to either be pregnant or nursing to produce milk, Male calves are killed for that reason because they’re non profitable and seen as superfluous. Male chickens are macerated alive for the same reason as the aforementioned male calves. I apologize if i’m coming off as invasive but i’m very passionate about the matter ☮️
I am not sure exactly what I said at 10:43 but I will rewatch it. Thanks for watching the video. Everything you say is true, and to perhaps set your mind at rest, me and my whole family are vegan. We not only don't consume animal products for food, but we use none for clothing, furnishings or other items. We support comanpanies that do not use animal testing. I think you would find us in complete agreement about animal violence.

Correction : readers are not leaders. The only leader is Mary Baker Eddy.
Hi, thanks so much for watching. I've done a couple of videos on CS and don't remember exactly what is said in each one. I realize that MBE is the only leader, the pastor. I think I made it clear at least in one of these videos that there is no pastor and no sermon except the readings from the Bible and Science and Health. I meant leader in the sense of being the people at the two podiums guiding the congregation through the various sections of the service and doing the readings. Not teaching or doing commentary in any way. If that wasn't clear, I apologize. Thanks for the correction.

I’m a member of a American Baptist church in Western Colorado, and this seems to be a well researched video. What’s your personal experience with American Baptist churches? I'm also wondering, are you a follower of Christ? Thanks
Thanks for watching. Your analysis is correct; this video is based on my research. I don't have personal experience with this denomination. As you can see on my channel I talk about a wide variety of churches and movements and haven't been involved in all of them. Your question did raise my interest and I am planning to watch a Zoom meeting of one of our local ABC churches this Sunday. Yes, I am a Christ follower. My only experience regarding the ABC churches was a pastor telling me the ABC stood for anything but Christ. I did not find that to be true in any of my research. First impression: I found the ABC's to be a refreshing breath of fresh air.
@@patpryor Thanks for the response, sister! One thing I'm curious about is the how the ABCUSA and the ABA differ. That might be a worthy topic for a video if you were interested. You may have already covered this, I'll have to look at your backlog. There's a fair amount of info contrasting the Southern Baptist convention with American Baptists, but not so much the American Baptists themselves. At first glance it seems the ABA is a bit more conservative than ABCUSA, and the latter perhaps has a reputation of being more liberal? Both seem to emphasize local community and missions giving. These of course are broad generalizations, and as you mentioned each church having autonomy means there are probably vast differences from church to church depending on the Pastor and Diaconate leadership style and theological leanings. Thanks again for the video!

Thanks for watching and for your suggestion.
You have an awesome channel. I love how you present different ideas…Funny that negative comments would be placed underneath a video where someone is merely presenting an idea- not exactly the same thing as endorsing it. Either way, masterfully done. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching. Well, some people don't understand the concept of presenting; they automatically think only of promotion and that if I'm teaching about it, these must be my beliefs. Step two is always to prove me wrong and convert me to their way of thinking. That's why I really appreciate comments like yours. Thanks again!
Origen has this great metaphor of God as an all consuming fire. We face the all consuming fire at death. Some will be purified by it and some will be punished by it. Same fire. If I think about a soteriology that informs the other aspects of my theology this works for me. In fact, im willing to put the other stuff aside as mystery. Reincarnation? Who cares? Not for me to know. I mean really how much of this can we know and where does the speculation have no relevance to any other aspect of our theologies? If I know I have to face the all consuming fire theres no faking it and im wasting my time judging other people. To me this soteriology blows spiritual materialism and self righteousness out of the water.
Thanks for watching, for sharing Origin's idea and your personal take on it.
So you don't believe in Genisis or revelations.
Thanks so much for watching. Marcionites were followers of a man named Marcion and begin in about the year 144 A.D. This is a history video. It has nothing whatever to do with what I personally believe.
Indeed Bogomils never rejected the cross it is a bit different though!
Thanks for watching.
I would love to hear you discuss the connection between Cambellites and Sydney Rigdon/Joseph Smith, Jr, the Mormon Church
Thanks so much for watching. I'm definitely not an expert on that topic, but I'll do some research and see what I can find.
You say there’s no higher art key I believe and Jesus Christ is it in the king James, the only art anarchy do you need is Jesus Christ, that what you said anarchy, but I don’t understand what you mean anarchy you don’t believe I don’t understand you take care God bless
Thank you so much for watching. I'm am not sure I understand your question. I think you are asking me if it is ok to have 'no hierarchy' in church government. You want to know if it is in the Bible. The Bible does not set rules about how a church government should be set up. It is up to the denominations and they do not all do it the same way. In this church it means that each church is independent. Each church follows Jesus and the Bible, but they do not have a pope or bishops or any other leaders above them saying how they must do things. I hope that answers your question.
They aren't Christians... they are gnostics who followed Sophia not Christ... I wish people would quit calling people Christian who are not
thanks for watching. I let people speak for themselves; they called themselves Christians; my job is to share their history and beliefs; beyond that into judgment I try not to go.
Los primeros y autenticos cristianos siempre fueron perseguidos y eliminados por Roma.
Gracias por mirar. Sí, la iglesia romana era muy poderosa.
I just joined a brethern assembly. I like their simplicity and desire to worship as god wants.
Thanks for watching. Each of us is on a unique spiritual path and if yours has taken you here, then it is the right place for you at this time. Learn what you can but know that this is not the end of the path for you; it is spiritual and based in infinity so there is much ahead for you; this is one step along the way.
😊
Thannks so much for watching.
Good Morning ! . . My name is Anthony and l have been a follower and believer in Jesse Christ since Oct. 10, 1980. When l received the Holy Spirit of GOD and was baptized in HIS Name of JESUS Christ like the Apostoles obeyed and baptized the beginning converts ! . . . My question to you Pat , is it hard and strenious to film and produce UA-cam videos ? . . I enjoy your Labor of Love that you do to sacrifice and give your time to make the great vidios that you reveal my dear sister in the LORD JESUS and in HIS Son Jesus Christ , the Messiah ! . . I would like to make some videos on UA-cam if it is Not to strenuous since l am now on dialysis 3 days a week for 4 hours each time ! 😊 Thank you for your Service of making the videos . . especially the ones on Christian Universalism ! 😊❤
Thank you so much for watching, sharing, and for your desire to make videos. I think how 'hard' making the videos is, depends on how professional you want them to look. Some people make a recording of themselves on their phone and just upload it 'as is' onto youtube. I personally make my video with a digital camera that is set on a tripod and I try to have some good lighting in the room. I then transfer it to my pc and I use some software to edit my videos. It doesn't take me too long, because I try not to make too many mistakes as I record. If I do, sometimes I just start over and try to make my first recording pretty usable. I edit out any major mistakes and then I just upload it. When I first started I tried to make it a bit more professional with music in the background and I used more additional pictures and inserts instead of just speaking. After a while, I decided to simplify. I do not know how much having dialysis saps your energy so I cannot really say if it is something that will be easy for you. But, I think if you keep it simple and just give the message that you would like to share, then give it a try. Maybe if you know someone who is good with computers and willing to help they could do some of the editing and help with the recording. I'd say, 'go for it' so you will know for sure if it is for you. If it doesn't work out, no shame in that. That is better than always wondering about what might have happened. Best wishes for success.
Thank you for revealing this video it let's us know that GOD does Not have anger and torture like the denominations now a days believe ! . . . False religious people like the Farisees kill our Messiah Jesus Christ ! . . Thank you for revealing these false doctrines like the JW's !
Thank you for your video & information !
Thanks for watching.

Hello Pat, thank you for sharing your views. They certainly resonate with me from an earlier point in my life. I was born into brethren, in the 1960’s, and had a very positive childhood until the late 1960’s and as you will recall from the history the brethren were led into gross error, culminating in the events of July 1970, which took place in my home in Aberdeen Scotland. So I witnessed firsthand those events which were clearly horrifying. Eventually in 1972 we were kicked out, and rejoined in 1973 with a group of brethren who had a similar judgement of the brethren system under James Taylor Jr. We basically then returned to a problem free existence free of the restrictions and rules that had become part of today’s PBCC. Thankfully. It’s good to see your perspective, and for bringing that to better awareness and understanding. I now can see how damaging this cult has become. PBCC is based on lies and although they have become quite financially well off, the control they have exercised on their membership is extraordinary. If you are in this cult please reach out. I can at least tell you the truth that was distorted and you believed the distortion of 1970, and hopefully help you to a good path forward. Thanks again Pat, great advice and clarity which is very much needed. We were brethren once, and at the bottom of the mess they made of things, the Lord Jesus is still there.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story. No, I am happy to say, I am not a member of this church. I am a student of religion and spirituality and a historian. My channel explores religions and spiritual movements worldwide from ancient to modern times. This was just one of many. Thank you for caring and for your offer of help.
